It was a down year for candidates, for sure.  And someone had to win.  All I am saying is that you’d have to a moron and/or a homer to cry because he didn’t win the cy young.

Who's crying?

It's a debate about the top 2-3 vote getters for Cy Young in a baseball subforum of a sports message board. Discussing pitching and what is valuable, what has changed in the voting over the years, the way the game is changed, etc.

What should we all do just post the result and not discuss it?

I posted my opinion and the other gal got all defensive.  Any normal year he would not have even been in the discussion.  It’s just a down year and someone had to win.  I’m shocked it was that close.  Only a homer would argue he should have won it.

How did I get defensive?

You made a stupid comment and I refuted it with data.

He got just as many first place votes as the other guy.... I'm definitely not the wrong one here.

Literally.  I said he didn’t deserve the Cy Young.  That’s literally a stupid comment to you. Literally the best part of you dried up on the backseat of a Pinto.  Literally you refuted it with opinion supported with data that fit your argument.  Literally I can pull data out to refute my stance as well.  Which is what the MLB obviously and literally did.

A lot of mileage on that arm. I would offer 1 year tops. If another team offers more,  oh well.

He's not a Free Agent.  They would have to trade for him. He has 1 year and $16 million left on his deal.

Ah, thanks. Give them a low level prospect then.

Are the Phillies going to bring Archie Bradley back? Are they counting on Seranthony to start the season?

He'll be 32 less than 2 months into the season.  Has pretty good career numbers, but they have dipped a bit (a little, not much) the past 2 seasons.

25-20 W-L record

3.41 ERA

1.17 WHIP

2.9 K/BB ratio with 466 Ks in 396 IPs

.213 BA against

.299 OBP against

.364 SLG% against

Alright older reliever that will breakdown because that’s what happens with the Phillies

Would love hader. But i feel his pricetag (i. Trade to acquire him) is gonna be ridiculous considering he’s 27 and his ability

Lots of trades and waiver wire pickups going into the Rule 5 draft. Maybe one of those guys sticks and contributes. Probably a pitcher.

Are we in the market for a Rule 5 player? Maybe a pitcher?

Some speculation on trading for a CF or closer. Is anyone untouchable? Stott, O'Hoppe, Bohm, Vierling? Abel, Painter?

Could we pull off more than one trade? Maybe. What are we willing to give up that other teams actually want?

Free agency . . . Phillies quiet so far. Some talks with a reliever. Anything else?

Waiting for news, checking rumors 3 times a day. Hopeful Dombrowski can work some magic to rebuild the team.

No one is signing anybody before there is a new CBA.

The old one expires on 12/1 and there will probably be a short lockout.
