Walker to Soto. This can’t end well

I just checked the score. Normally Soto when he inherits runners is usually decent. He’s 33 of 39 with his time here. Problem is he’s been super inconsistent most of the season and he was similar last year. He’d have 2-3 really good relief appearances then 2 bad appearances. It’s basically what he’s done this year.

Why didn’t Thomson go with Strahm in the first place?

We hadn’t made a dumb decision in a while lol

Soto has one option left. The Phillies really should send him down there and let him figure out his crap down there like they did with Alvarado. At this point he’s a liability every time you use him until he can figure his crap out

David Dahl>>> Omar Dahl

The Fox broadcast showed that Dahl’s HR went 205 feet :wacko:

Now @hputenis favorite pitcher, Diekman, is pitching

Looking back at that Soto and Clemens for vierling and maton trade, the tigers got the best player. Soto has been bad. Clemens is a bench player. Vierling can play multiple positions and his slashes this year are .276/.312/.781 with 7 HRs and 28 RBI. If he plays 162 games that’s a pace of 20 HRs and 80 RBI.

Well Walker pitched well for the most part

Much better!

Could have gotten long odds on Merrifield/Dahl getting the big HRs in these games.

And Alvarado implodes against the bottom of the Mets lineup.

It's "step on a rake" games like this one that can bite you at the end of the season.

The fact Thomson still has Alvarado out there is embarrassing. He’s at 35 pitches and gotten 2 outs. At some point after he didn’t get the first 3 guys out you might have thought he doesn’t have it today let’s pull him. Nope here we are 35 pitches in and giving up 3 runs.

Back to negativity

Yeesh - rough one for Alvarado.

On a side note, the Mets have to have the biggest group of dorks.  Alonso, McNeil, Nimmo - bunch of weirdo dorks.

He’s part of the issue cause he was not good with his command and stuff today. But Thomson sitting there letting him throw 35 pitches is just stupid. You saw he didn’t have it after 2 batters and even after the 3rd it was still tied. Pull him then and don’t let it snowball into an avalanche. Instead it took him 35 pitches to get two outs and find yourself down 2. As a manager, you have to see that Alvarado just doesn’t have it today (against the bottom of the Mets lineup) and yet he let him throw nearly 40 pitches.

Is it bad I’m really hoping casty pulls a Roger dorn and gets hit by pitch to bring the runner home?

Tobias Harris with the game ending DP.

I’m really happy that the Mets - who are 16.5 games back of us - got the big win today.
