Worst thing the Phillies did this offseason was sign Schwarber and JT.

I can buy the argument that they have hit their own hard internal salary cap and just couldn't retain or add some of the names we wanted. But they are throwing good money after players that will decline this year and could have gotten out in front of the rebuild a year early.

Should have leaned into it now.

Same here. I would have let both walk then told both Harper and Turner that the rebuild is on. I would then give them the choice between going through the rebuild or have their agents look for trade possibilities. This is an 80-84 win team as currently constructed.

I was fine with Schwarber given he plays DH. The JT deal was atrocious.

Suarez gone and was kinda cheap too.

The Phillies could have had Bader and E. Suarez instead of Garcia and Bohm, at only a modest additional outlay of $$. I think they will regret the missed opportunity come October.

It's actually a genius move by the Reds. Cheap contract that will be easily movable at the deadline. They'll get a good prospect for him

You know the off season is bad when this is the highlight of it.

I hope for kerkering’s sake he’s able to shake it off and thrive after it. however, I’ve said this before, I just think he’s always had an issue in big spots. It’s why I don’t think he’s ever going to be what the Phillies thought he could be. He’s probably a good middle reliever, but in high pressure situations, I do not trust him even before this happened.
