Official Philadelphia Phillies Thread - Still can't hit for crap

Yes our defense will suck and our bullpen may still be trash. But we should be able to close out games when we’re up 27 runs in the 9th.

Our starters also are a question mark. We really need eflin, Suarez and nola to show out this year

Nola hopefully bounces back a little. Eflin we just need to stay healthy. Suarez I’m least worried about. Showed great promise last year in his first time starting after being moved out of the bullpen. He’s gonna be good this year.

How good are these 2 guys? Baseball knowledge has taken a big hit last few years

They also signed a very good closer I believe

That's not bad...... Works out to about $4 per game

Like the ticket coupons in hot dogs back in the day.

The Phils really are doing their best to buy a competitive ball club...and I applaud that.  It just would be nice if we had some homegrown talent to pair with what we are buying.  Nola, Hoskins, and Bohm are the nucleus of homegrown talent and that's the reason this team can't be great...that's a bad trio.  But hats off to ownership for going out there and buying the rest.

Braves lost too much this offseason.

That’s what I’m telling myself anyway.

Phillies Franks!

Great progress so far.

Shwarber and Castellanos.

Trevor Story is still available...

and still time for a trade or two.

Nola In mid season form

Anyone out there know if Nick Castellanos is related to Paul Castellanos?

A look back at the history of hits on NYC mob bosses

No s on the end of Paul Castellano.

probably no direct relation.

Any chance we can trade Hoskins for some arms?

Maybe someone needs a DH?

The lineup will have some good bats, for sure.

I'll stop there.

They will obviously struggle with pitching and defense but seems like the plan is to offset that with an extremely deep lineup.  Going to be a lot of 12-10, 9-6 type games.

Can’t wait to see the roster for opening day.

and the Phillies should be buyers at the trade deadline.

Looking like an exciting year for Phillies baseball.
