He’s been great fielding since about mid May. Stott and bohm have both grown leaps and bounds from where they were in May til now. Players who have an anxiety-producing deficit in their game and successfully overcome it in the highest pressure situations are the ones you want to keep around. It’s great that he’s been fielding so well in October.

I don’t think he ever is a 30 homerun type hitter but i can see him eventually getting to 20-25 but hitting 280-290 which can make up for some lack of hrs

And if he’s going to be an average fielding 3rd baseman or eventually 1b/DH, he’s going to have to increase the power.

He went from terrible to pretty solid over the course of one season and he’s plenty young. No reason to believe he can’t improve even more.
October 29, 20223 yr Castellanos coming up with the bases loaded me: pull a Roger dorn. Pull a Roger dorn. Pull a Roger dorn.

The thing that really worrisome is when he was with Cincinnati and even when he had some not great years, he never had this bad of plate discipline. I don’t know how he gets himself right this off-season with his approach at the plate. Because our hitting coach has actually been pretty good this year with other guys and yet he is completely lost.

Old dog, new tricks. They did wonders for Stott. Castellanos is just too aggressive and wants to swing at everything. I bet if he takes the 1st 2 pitches more often his numbers will go up.
October 29, 20223 yr Castellanos and lack of bullpen depth may be what costs them, if you need to bring in you game 3 starter you have problems but I have faith in Dombrowski to fix that

If you can get stott, bohm and Brandon marsh to hitting much better under your coaching, but he is having the same problems all year then it tells me he’s either he’s not listening or he’s just not going to get out of it.
