Ruiz got some balls

I’d have said bunted to move realmuto to third but Bohm has been great and Castellanos and merrifield behind him makes no freaking sense too

again Castellanos and merrifield shouldn’t be batting 5 and 6 in the lineup. You don’t want them having more at bats than guys like marsh and Sosa who are hitting better.

Crap

I have more confidence in Pache and Rojas hitting back to back than Castellanos and Merrifield.

That’ll be the game. 2 runs on wild pitches tonight. Like JFC

Sloppy

After Bohm it should’ve been marsh then Sosa. Both are hitting better than merrifield and Castellanos. Merrifield should be hitting 9th. Hes 1 for his last 19.

Correction 1 for last 20

When was the last time Schwarber hit a homerun? Seems like it's been forever.  Anyways, he needed to have a better at-bat than that.

They put up a good fight tonight, but the mistakes finally came back to bite them in the end. If they can somehow stop with the errors and mental mistakes then this team would be more complete. You will lose more games this way against better opponents so this is something I hope gets fixed

I am less irritated that they lost the game tonight. And more irritated about their lineup construction tonight. It makes no Fing sense. Not only do you have a guy hitting .200 batting 5th and the guy behind him protecting him batting .188 but you had three consecutive right handed hitters in the lineup. Quintana hadn’t been good this year. So it’s very likely that the Mets were going to go to a bullpen earlier in the game. So when you have 4 out of 5 right handed hitters and three straight it makes it much easier for the Mets bullpen to match up with that middle part of your lineup. Add on the fact that Castellanos is 2 for his last last 20 and merrifield is 1 for his last 20 being 5th and 6th is just dumb. 5 and 6 hitters were 0-5 with runners in scoring position tonight.

Welp, good news is Phillies win 4-2.  Bad news is that their offense went stone cold after the 3rd inning. Bryce keeps getting under pitches he should be driving into the seats.

I think my biggest concern is still their offense. Because I know they’re going to add a relief pitcher at the deadline. Add on I think when you get to the playoffs, you’re also going to have Turnbull and Sanchez to be able to use as well. So your bullpen is likely gonna be pretty good going into the playoffs. Their lineup still scares me. They are still way too hot and cold. And if Castellanos and Rojas aren’t hitting, it affects the guys around them because they’re not gonna see as good of pitches because they know they can get outs behind them. I still think they gotta go out and get another outfielder who is a left-handed hitter so if they have the platoon Castellanos or Rojas in the playoffs, they can do it and have success.

Harper has too many games where he completely disappears, that is why he is no Hall of famer  in my opinion

I fear the cost of what it would take to get miller. I’m guessing you are likely giving up Aiden miller to acquire him

I would love for them to dump Castellanos on another team. He is absolutely useless both in the field and at the plate. As far as I'm concerned, he's David Bell all over again. Is there a team dumb enough to take on the remaining 2 1/2 years of that contract? Doubt it but one can hope.

If he gets to 500 homers and continues to play an excellent 1st base over the next several years, he's going to the hall of fame. Don't get me wrong, these funks he goes through are irritating as hell but as far as I'm concerned, he's the least of their problems offensively. Even when he's not hitting, he's still usually getting on base via walks. Castellanos, Rojas, and Merrifield are the biggest culprits offensively. They contribute absolutely nothing. Literal blackholes.

Time to trade him was last offseason. They didn’t want to eat money on the contract. I think if they ate half of the contract they could’ve moved him. Some team would’ve taken him on 3 years $30 mil. You wouldn’t have gotten anything back for him. But clearing $30 mil and being able to replace him with a better fielder and hitter would’ve been nice.

A bat is the bigger issue. They are the same freaking team as the last few years that is hot and stone cold.

Will we get a hit today?
