He looks as bad as he did during that 1 for like 34 slump

The way we’re swinging a 1-run deficit is way too much to overcome

Don’t forget how bad the bullpen is on top of that. Can’t hit or pitch worth crap. About to be 10-16 in their last 26 games against teams over .500

through London series they were 16-6

since London series 16-21 (if they lose tonight)

Clutch hitting by Harper there

Fing Thomson leaving Alvarado in the game when he has no control. Fing dumb decision.

This team peaked in April and May. It is about to go 4-9 over the next 13 games

 there’s no way Thomson is actually trying to win games - how do you let a guy in long enough to walk 4 hitters in a 1 run game

I haven’t been watching this team nearly as much lately.  It’s obvious that they don’t give an ish, so why should I?  Shutting this off and watching something else

Yeah, why not pull him before he walks in that run?

same reason he left kimbrel in and kept pitching kimbrel

I’d fire Topper at this point. Team needs a jolt.

Alvarado may not pitch his way out of this in time to be useable in October.

Walking 4 batters in one inning means you’ve lost it.

Eff you, Laureano.

He needs to be out on IL and let him rehab in the minors for 3 weeks. Then bring him back up.

that said our hitting is awful. Teams pitching us the exact same way they did in NLCS. Bunch of breaking stuff and stuff not in the zone. Guys swing at crap. The fact they didn’t get on base the last 17 hitters of the game. Pathetic

Yep it was slider after slider out of the zone and they swung at every single one

It's what Houston did

And the biggest issue is is they’re hitting coach has not figured it Fing out since last postseason. Either that or the players are just not listening to him. So at some point in time either you at the fire the hitting coach cause he doesn’t know how to get through them or he’s too stupid to figure out and you need to fire him.

Tbh Houston just had an all time bullpen and staff. They were legitimately just really good besides the Phillies looking like dogcrap. The dbacks bullpen was not good and we basically allowed them to look like the Astros BP

Scoring 1 run is a bigger issue than the guys responsible for giving up 3…that’s for sure.  The offense is what it is…feast or famine.  That’s just going to be their reality.

The players I worry about, at this point, are Ranger, Alvarado, and Stott.  Ranger has been a gamer in the playoffs, but I don’t know that we’ll ever see him where he was earlier this year.  Alvarado has a long way to go before he’s usable.  And Stott…his book may not be written yet, but this is a season long slump at this point.  He may turn it around, but I don’t think he’s going to do that this year.  So they are probably going to have to deal with 2b and 1-2 OF spots being holes in the lineup for the playoffs.

Contrary to what Rube said, wheeler was not outstanding, you need more than 6 innings and 2 runs from your ace, that is fine for a number 3 but the offense is putrid anyway and I am tired of bryce getting a free pass from the soft media in this town

This isn’t even a feast or famine thing anymore. They can’t consistently hit against good pitching. Go back to when they went to London onward. Every time they face good pitching, they haven’t been able to hit it. The times that they beat in good teams it is because they faced like the three or the four or the five starter or guys are no longer in the rotation. They face glasnow they looked awful. they face Lopez twice. Both times looked awful . They faced houck from the Red Sox. They got their ass handed to them. They face burnes. They didn’t look good. Skubal shut them down. Kelly and gallen they didn’t hit well and had tons of chances. Only good pitcher they’ve hit well is fried who’s not been as great this year. At some point in time it’s not feast or famine, they just can’t hit good pitching. Now they make bad pitching look better at times because they swing at Crap.
