April 14Apr 14 I don't know which is worse- watching Walker pitch or Nola. At least after this year we will be done with Walker.

April 16Apr 16 I'm not saying this to gloat...because I'd much, much rather have a baseball team to be excited about. And they WILL go on a run and have some bright spots. So it's not ALL doom and gloom. Just a rough spot early.BUT...BUT...I really wonder how any professional front office executive expected much better than this, this year. The writing has been on the wall that the rotation would take a meaningful step back. Zach Wheeler transitioning from the conversation for best pitcher in all of baseball to a mid-rotation quality starter needs to be anticipated. Painter having a 2nd half fatigue-induced regression that leaves him a meaningful step back from 2025 Ranger needs to be anticipated. Luzardo...well, him being a disaster is a genuine surprise, but he's always been a fairly volatile pitcher. Put it all together and that's a pretty good rotation, but certainly not a rotation that is capable of carrying a team...and a regressed one from last year. The lineup? I feel like some people expected them to defy the laws of physics. Aging players with reliable, linear decline don't just miraculously have MVP seasons. 33 year olds coming off career years don't repeat them. And other 4-5 aging decent bats don't just maintain the same collective productivity. Hint: it gets worse. This was always going to be a team that struggled to make the playoffs based off eroded talent. It's hard to explain how they did not see it. Which brings me to the point....1. either they didn't see it and that is very concerning. 2. Or, maybe they did...and they spent untold millions in the offseason investing in a failed roster just to save face instead of making the tough, but necessary decisions.I'm not sure which one is worse. And with DD, I tend to lean #2. I really think anyone around this team should have and likely did see this coming.
April 16Apr 16 2 stats that are suboptimal: the Phillies are 2-4 in actual series and they have the 3rd worst run differential in all of baseball. If they don't manage a 2-1 series win at home against the Braves, there is going to be a complete collapse of confidence in the team.
April 17Apr 17 Same shiz, different year. They can score 12-15 runs in back to back games and then not score 5 runs the next 4 games. I lied, its not quite the same. Somehow they managed to be worse. Can't hit in general, can't hit with men in scoring position, can't run the bases, and now both the starting and relieve pitching are not good. No one on the team seems to care or have a sense of urgency. They are either ok being mediocre or they are delusional thinking they can turn it on later. Either way, the mindset and attitude of this team stink. Bohm and Stott suck and the main guys are mostly washed besides maybe Schwarber.

April 17Apr 17 The only saving grace will be if they miss the playoffs and Middleton gets the balls to finally crap can DD, Topper, and Long.
