I like their bullpen. Especially if Alvarado it’s gonna be pitching like this. I think the top three starters are good enough. Even if you get Ranger as your fourth starter and he can go five innings giving up three runs. That’s pretty good. To me if the Phillies don’t win a World Series it’s because their hitting wasn’t good enough. They have to live with the hitting that they have. And it comes and goes. I trust their pitching way more than I trust her hitting to come through with runners in scoring position. Their whole fate is gonna come down to hitting with runners in scoring position and being able to hit enough home runs to get them by.

Yep, it seems like it will come down to getting the lineup back healthy and hitting. We also need the bad Nola to stay home in October.
September 12, 20241 yr Now go ahead and win the series vs. the Mets. That would put them nine up (or eleven) over the Mets with just 13 games left. The Braves would be at least 8 back.

It’s all teams over .500. The last 3 vs. the cubs are not going to be easy. They’ve been playing excellent baseball lately. They are 16-8 in their last 24. I’m really hoping over the stretch they can go 9-4 or 8-5. But i think 7-6 is more likely. If they can win 2 out of 3 against the Mets at home and 2 out of 3 at Milwaukee it would be pretty big. It probably clinches the division annd also likely a bye. Then just need to split the series in NY to get to 6-4 over the next 10. What sucks with this series is Saturday. The matchups vs. the Mets are nola vs Quintana, allard vs. severino and then sanchez vs. either manea or megill. Really would like to win Friday night because game 2 with allard vs. severino favors the Mets.

If the Braves line sale up right he has 4 starts left against dodgers, reds, Mets and royals. If he doesn’t look great in dodgers and Mets series that might cost them a playoff spot and are big games. The Phillies can lineup wheeler 3 more times at brewers, at Mets and at nationals. Good chance the nationals game wheeler doesn’t do his typical start as might not be anything besides his cy young candidacy left. I think if sale pitches well in the dodgers, reds and Mets series probably just gonna have wheeler make the start but not go deep as they want to give him some live action as a chance with the bye he would be on like 8-9 days rest from that start.
