Nice to finally see Jalen smile and enjoy a win!! Kid has been so focused and worked really hard this year.  He is probably already back to work preparing for KC

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I wonder if Joe Decamara will address the idea that he said something like, "I can't myself rooting against Andy Reid", a few weeks ago.

The Disrespect to Reddick is unreal-  Bosa had a few more sacks in regular season- vs a softer schedule and playing a ton more snaps.

I saw some Baldy breakdowns earlier, but not sure if this one was posted.

SB!

But I do have this feeling that we won 13-7 over a toothless opponent rather than 31-7 given Smitty’s missed incompletion and how the penalties facilitated our scoring.

On the other side of the coin  Reddick would’ve been in Purdy’s face all day, Smitty’s hurry up call was a heady move, and the 9ers might of cheated us of a good offensive experience by coming in with a defensive gameplan that was reliant on mugging our receivers and chippiness that often crossed the border into outright dirty play.

And yet, they were penalties... and Shanahan had the opportunity to challenge the completion to Smith and chose not to.   Refs missed the fumble for Purdy, Eagles challenged it and they got the call right.  Shanahan had the same opportunity, but didn't take advantage of it.  That timeout was too precious to him, compared to the change of possession that would have resulted from challenging it.

As for the penalties, the 49ers defense was clutching and grabbing all day, and played undisciplined football.  They got called for real fouls.  Maybe if they hadn't committed so many penalties they wouldn't have been able to stop plays... like the DPI on Goedert, as an example.  If he's not grabbed and held, maybe he's open and they can convert for a first down without a call.   But, then again, that's why these infractions are penalties, because they hinder the offense from executing.

Boo-hoo.  The 49ers played dirty... and were caught with their hands in the cookie jar on multiple occasions.   I'm not going to feel bad for them.  I'd have preferred watching a cleaner game, but they chose to break the rules thinking that it would give them the advantage.  It backfired on them.

That video with Lane is in so slow motion.  In human eye/full speed that would have been invisible to the line judge.  Happens all the time.  Bet I could find the same on Trent Williams and Sweat.

I noticed it a couple times watching live. He kicks out a half second earlier than everyone else. Pretty sure Peters taught him that because he used to do it all the time too and usually not get called for it.

Gainwell is a nice rotational piece. He’s not a reason to move on from Sanders. Sanders’ impending contract is the reason to move on. Go cheap at RB.

Of course.  If Sanders were still under contract, it would be a both/and situation.  With Sanders' imposing free agency, they can move on, feeling good about what they have in Gainwell, and look to bring in some more fresh legs via the draft and a vet for a minimal cost.  Pollard becomes an interesting option as that injury will likely cost him getting any kind of big money and he could come here for a cheap one year prove it deal.  This would be a good spot for him to raise his value again.  Might be worth knocking on that door.

What a f’ing dumb poll and even dumber 25%

Hurts definitely did not have his best game, but just the threat of his running ability took Fred Warner out of the game. There was that play towards the end of the 2nd with Warner standing flat footed for a solid 3 seconds, just watching Hurts while Gainwell was already 5 yards up the field.

Just imagine if Hurts goes off in the Super Bowl.  These two playoff wins at home he hasn’t been tasked with putting up big performances — the defense and OL have been doing the heavy lifting.  I’ll be fine with another 150 yard passing game if it means the Eagles dominate with the OL and DL again one more time

I thought I saw somewhere that the OTs are allowed to move their outside foot so long as their inside foot remains in place.

I don't see anything in the actual rulebook. It only points out specifics for interior lineman being in a three point stance.

And that is a microcosm of why they lost yesterday... not the penalties or even the injuries.  They didn't have the heart.

Not per the letter of the rule. Probably more of a rarely enforced gray area because it can be tough to discern in real-time.

One of Hurts best plays yesterday was fighting for a half yard to avoid the safety. Very good awareness to make sure the ball was not in the endzone while getting spun and sacked. That was right when things weren’t going well at all either and would have been a huge momentum shift.

Both were stupid penalties.

Disagree.  One was stupid, the other was borderline dirty... to go along with a bunch of other borderline dirty plays.  The longer the game went on, the dirtier they got.  It is why I was suggesting they pull Hurts for the entire 4th quarter.  The OL had the game well under control by that point, there was no reason to leave Hurts out there... but the good news is that the coaches didn't allow Hurts to carry the ball again after that.

That is the beauty of this offense and team. They can be whatever they need to be. They need to run 80% run 20% pass to win? They can do that. The defense shuts down the run and they need to pass more? They have the weapons and talent to do that.

So many teams in the NFL are so one-dimensional that once you punch them in the mouth on the thing they do best, they shut down. You can't do that to this team.

The one thing that I loved about the game yesterday is that the offense wanted to take the soul from the 49ers' defense, so they ran right at them. They sustained long drives, kept punching them in the mouth and kept converting on 4th down, which probably drove that defense nuts.

Pretty impressive display of strength, too.  Bosa is built like a gorilla

We need to talk about punter.  Mahomes can't be starting at the 40 every time we don't score.

By the letter of the rule... clearly yes.

Easy fix. We’re not going to punt.

Tbh the only one of the 7 i thought we got the benefit of the call was the kern roughing the kicker penalty. I thought Davis got pushed into him but really when you go all out to block the punt you take that risk of something like that happening. The PI on brown was legit, McGill also had his hands to the facemask of Dickerson, ward definitely just grabbed goedert basically his entire route and greenlaw also grabbed the facemask. granted don’t think you can rely on this against the chiefs and need to be better on offense. However also not facing the niners defense again

to be honest, I thought the other game was also officiated pretty poorly and worse then the eagles game. There’s a play were Joe Burrow throws the ball and  Frank Clark takes three steps after burrow released the ball and hits him. Clark didn’t destroy burrow on the hit but still it was late

That's roughing the passer in the same way the late hit out of bounds on Mahomes was a 15 yarder.  I wouldn't have called either one, but that inconsistency heavily favored the Chiefs.
