Looking back at the 2017 Super Bowl run...

Foles had 969 yards of total offense and 6 TD's, completed 72.6% of his passes, and averaged 323 yards of total offense per game.

Hurts so far has 348 yards of total offense, 4 total TD's, completing 63.6% of his passes, and is averaging 174 yards of total offense per game.

In the NFCCG and Super Bowl, Foles passed for 352 and 373 yards respectively, both more than Hurts total offense through 2 playoff games.

A lot of this is Sirianni/Steichen’s philosophy. They love parking the bus in the second half and protecting leads and they’ve been good at it all season. There were a handful of games this season where they could have kept going bombs away, but they like getting out to multiple score leads in the first half and sitting on the ball in the second half.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I get not affording to pay CGJ, but man is he fun to watch.

Uh, we can’t not afford to pay him. Think he’s a critical player with ridiculous potential at that safety position.

At best....yet they still scored 31 on the 49ers vaunted defense.  All those who want to blame the loss on not having a quarterback, that defense gave up 31 to a below average Eagles offensive performance.  Let's hope they bring their A game in the SB.

The Offense as a whole was better than a C.  Hurts had a very bad day, which dragged the whole Offense down.  For example, did the O-line have a C game?

Major props because if you had to name one weakness of his it'd have to be tackling.

I don't know if he's stepping it up due to the importance of tackling well as a safety,  or if it was just because of the importance of that game.

Hope it becomes a regular thing.

The tackling in the first half was bad. They got a lot better in the second half.

Who can play other positions as well.

Super Bowl will be tough.  I think we have a great chance to  win and being favored by 2 sounds about right.

Is there any question about it though if this team had Mahomes or even Burrow at QB? Absolutely not.

Is clear they are still well ahead of Hurts as passers.

He is good enough to win this next game with what he can do, and the cast around him.

I hope he can make another gigantic leap forward as a passer next year.

While I'm being critical of players who have done really great for us this season,  In growing to hate slant passes to AJ Brown. Too many drops by him.  And even a fumble or 2 iirc when trying to break a tackle and turn up field.

He's a great player.  We need to realize he's not reliable enough on slants. That should be called less on 3rd downs.

Yeah. No doubt Hurts will need to play better, but he basically hasn’t had to do much of anything for four quarters of the eight quarters. I almost wonder if the coaches told him yesterday to take shot plays if he gets a 1 on 1 on the outside because the o my thing that would have gotten the Niners back into the game once Purdy went out was a turnover. Deep shots are low probability, but they’re also low risk.

Talking about Gardner-Johnson specifically.

But I agree, as a team tackling improved over the course of the season.

I haven't heard anyone ask him if his shoulder was causing those issues. He probably wouldn't tell us, but I don't remember him looking that bad at the end of the Giants game unless I missed something. Did he?

49ers make a lot of QB look bad but was he just rushing things, mental issue, something else...because many weren't even close. He threw most past the WR, so if it was physical wouldn't he be shorting them?

That's the speech of a man who is already 100% focused on Winning the SB. He was more excited beating the Vikings on MNF.

I suspect Spags will bring lots of blitzes. Brown can turn a blitz into a 60 yard play. Keep throwing them.

I think the OL played an OK game.  Hurts didn't seem comfortable in the pocket at all, especially early in the game.  I think they made some great blocks that are easy to highlight but as a whole, I'd say they were B-, C+.

WTF was Stoll doing on the almost safety play? He runs right by Bosa (literally dodging around him not even chipping him AT ALL) and he knows Hurts in 3 feet behind him.  What a dipstick.

Hard to say where some of these bad teams will go with their head coaching decisions.  If I were the one choosing from the candidates listed it would be:

Texans -- assuming Demeco Ryans is hired tomorrow or Wednesday

Broncos -- Raheem Morris (although I'd strongly consider just promoting Ejiro Evero)

Cardinals -- Anarumo, or Evero

Colts -- Shane Steichen

I agree with RC here

That 2nd sack was SOOO close to a fumble.  VERY lucky there was no contact to the QB head call.

He also landed on top of him which I've seen get called before too.

I think he was supposed to leak out and potentially catch a dump off.

looked like a designed chip block and he was supposed to roll out as a check down receiver

And yet, 1) avoided the safety; 2) did not allow a turn over; 3) was under heavy pressure 4) had to deal with a flawed 1st half game plan (look at how differently it all went when they started running to the weakside) 5) scored 6) did not keep too many times (only a few that look like he should have handed off).

Yes the throwing was off.  No question. But still.

Who runs PAST freaking BOSA???????????????????????

He should be by far and away the number one priority of all of the free agents they have. He is exactly the type of player they like to lock up long term in that he is just entering his prime and appears to have room to become an even better player. Not only that his dog like attitude fits in perfectly with the team and defense.

But he avoided the chip altogether. He DODGED HIM.  WTF??????

As it currently stands, the Eagles have 4.4 million in cap room next year, before any unpaid bonuses are factored in.

If the keep both 1st and draft in those spot's, it will cost over 6 million to sign the two 1st round picks.
