I think he takes the job. There’s only 32 of them available and never know what could happen in a year. I feel worse if he took the cardinals job. That’s a bigger dumpster fire of an organization. Whoever gets that job is gonna get canned in a year when they think they are in a better position to get a better candidate. I’m pretty sure cardinals might be the worst team next year considering murray is out about half the year if not longer, Hopkins is being dealt, Hollywood brown is a FA, watt retired and they just don’t have a lot of great talent on the roster. Add on new HC who’s likely a first time coach.

They'll be fine. The top 10 pick they used on a positionless player will pull them through.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I think their OL is underrated.

Funny, I think they’re overrated. We’ll see tomorrow, but I think Mahomes is going to be running for his life.

I don't think coaches think this way. You strike when the iron is hot. Would I like to keep him here? Yes, obviously. But who knows what happens next year? Coaches become hot and cold, fast. Look at Brian Leftwich. He was the hot name just a year ago and reportedly turned down a HC job. Now he's fired and no one wanted to interview him for a HC. DeFilippo was a hot name for a few years and then fell out of the league.

I agree that a job is a job but Indy's talent level is bad, the town and quality of life are nothing special, and the owner is a weirdo.

He may wind up taking the job but Irsay is not an irresistible force.

Honestly what makes that cardinals nfc title game lost sting more is how much of a dumpster fire that organization has been besides like the Warner era and the couple of years with Arians and Palmer. Otherwise they’ve been a disaster

I don't know about over or under rated but it'll be the best OL they've seen in the playoffs, better than NYG better than niners OL.

hahahahhahaa that is freaking awesome. Seriously, the guy is good, but even Brady in his prime with amazing talent around him hit a wall vs a good d with the Giants.

Who had a very good pass rush...

It is a very good line.  Good enough remains to be seen.  We have to hope Andy makes their job even harder by going away from the run. We have to make him go away from the run by getting them in a hole.

Yeah that’s why i think he takes it. Also got to remember 2 years ago the chargers let him leave and a lot of people were  down on Steichen when he left the chargers. I think you gotta take the job if offered. Even if it’s a wack job owner. Frankly if the colts get a Qb (hard to do but picking highly so they’ll likely grab one) i don’t think they are awful. Their defense when healthy is solid. They need a Qb and more playmakers besides Pittman and Taylor. Also would help if their oline didn’t get decimated like it has for the better part of two years

This post inspired me to create a new group:  Ranter

This group has a special focus: Rant and Rave is the only football forum available.

@ me with any nominations you may have.

Given the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the banning of 4for4, it may be worthwhile to make it policy that the above mentioned restricted Ranter forum be used as a pre-ban step.  In addition the report button could/should/would be turned off in that forum.  Think of it as Purgatory.

And the ignore feature pushed more. If people are complaining about certain people and not using it then that's on them.

Their interior offensive line is really good. Smith might be the most underrated player on the chiefs offense. He’s really good. Thuney and creed were all pros for a reason. Orlando brown and Wylie are their weak links. Brown was not very good in the afc title game. Before ossai got his penalty he really did well against brown. It’s why i think sweat has a really good game. If reddick and graham can dominate wylie it’s gonna be an issue for the chiefs.

Mahomes will sidestep one outside rusher. We need something up the middle or both ends to get home. I think the key is getting a push in the middle. Don’t need to get there but need to move the pocket back a bit.

I see Stiechen as a pretty smart guy. As a HC Candidate , he will be reviewing his options carefully.

The Colts job is a Head Coach in the NFL, rare air. The circumstances may be such that he chooses to remain an Eagle, for now.

Colts may take a couple years to get a roster in place that can consistently compete, and who wants to work for Irsay?

Shane may say, thanks but I'll wait. Hope he does.

It’s kind of crazy. Back when they first worked Kern out, you’d think they would’ve seen how bad he is. Like, there really isn’t anybody better out there?

Said it a week or so ago....bring back Donnie Jones for one game!  He's got 3 kicks left for the rest of his life.

KC running game was non existent against the Bengals , and the game was close.

Pacheco was 10 for 26.

Against the Jags Pacheco was 12-95 most of which came on one long carry so still it's like reids been running the ball at a high volume.

Eagles have been stout against the run since signing Joseph and suh I don't expect chiefs will be able to run much and I can't imagine Andy trying, it's who he is.

Limit the big play in the run game and pass game and should be ok.

But Mahomes magic!!! The guy needs a Superman cape the way people are talking about him. He is good but outside of Kelce his weapons don't match up against the Eagles.

Plus he's likely still injured

A bit better and different than SF. SF had Trent Williams and a 4 that supported him well. KC has the stud interior and weaknesses on the outside.

KC is clearly the 3rd best run blocking O-line of the 3. In now way is this some incredible upgrade in opponent O-line.

The rules are pretty clear in RnR. I think the get out of the kitchen phrase is actually used.

I think that thuney vs. hargrave matchup is going to be really fascinating. Two really really good players. Whoever wins most of that matchup i think can turn the game. If thuney can hold his own without help then it allows the chiefs to help out on reddick and maybe sweat. If he can’t then they are going to have to help on hargrave and potentially reddick which is gonna open up things for guys like Cox and sweat and the others

My greatest concern is Hurts' shoulder. The offense was truely dynamic earlier this season. The Chiefs special teams does cause some worry, as well.
