Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

You harp a lot on rules for someone who said they went to prison

Seeing as a QB has 250lb-350lb monsters trying to get them every passing play I would say yes it matters.

Maddox has 250 lb TEs all the time.  Think both Young and Stroud can outrun most 350 monsters.  Doug Flutie was 180 pounds.  194 isn’t that much lighter than Jeff Garcia.

Jail but yeah there are lots of rules in jail and in life and I dont really want to go back to jail so yeah...

Right, I'm not saying he can't play QB in the NFL, I'm arguing more for how high I would draft him.  I think his size is a negative.

We have gone at it many times in the other forum and it was never a big deal for either of us. I'd stick up for you or any other long-term poster as well because of what you bring. As I mentioned last night was about more to others than one person, though.

People do need to use the ignore like RTK does and grow a spine.  Many of these problems could be resolved.

Right, but never in here. Because there are different rules and I do my best to follow them. The mods have always been clear about this.

Mahomes will sidestep one outside rusher. We need something up the middle or both ends to get home. I think the key is getting a push in the middle. Don’t need to get there but need to move the pocket back a bit.

Middle pressure changes everything standing alone.  Middle pressure coupled with our ends will wreak havoc. We see the middle collapsing and this game will get ugly for KC.

I've actually never seen him play I dont really follow a lot of college ball , how's his arm? Does he have a cannon or a pee shooter?

If he has the requisite arm strength I wouldn't see  his size as an issue

Detmer was slight of frame but he lasted til the late rounds because he also had a noodle arm, plus this was 20+ years ago when the league stuck to their QB prototypes even more than now.

Since shorter guys like Russell Wilson have really opened the door for shorter NFL qbs.

Bryce Young has a good arm, but it’s not at the level of what Stroud and Levis have. Most of his draft credentials are on football IQ, leadership, accuracy, decision making

4x4 wasn't a gatekeeper. He engaged in the exact type of behavior that incensed Veejer. I have no idea who you think 4x4 was "gatekeeping" against, but it's not born out in reality whatsoever. There's a reason why all of us who posted back then are all telling you it's an absolutely ridiculous comparison.

I can't believe the amount of crying going on over a guy whose only real contributions to this board were about food. Could count on one hand the posts where he wasn't berating somebody. He rarely offered his own opinions he would just tell everyone else how stupid theirs were, either in replies or by using that idiot emoji on every single post.

He was a miserable D-bag who only brought negativity in every non-food related reply.

That said, everyone should get more comfortable using the ignore button. I've had 4x4 on ignore for probably 2 years now and it was a much better experience for me after I did it. Yea I still have to see his posts when he goes back and forth with someone who quoted him but it was much more tolerable not having to interact directly with him.

DeVonta Smith's size scared the crap out of me and was the #1 reason I didn't want him in the draft.  My stance on him has taken a complete 180 as he's now my favorite player on the team.  In regards to Young however, the position takes far more pounding than WR, no matter how many WR screens the Eagles try to run with Smith.  No doubt, Young is extremely talented but he doesn't have the frame to really bulk up.  He's going to be able to add lean muscle but he won't really get much bigger.  The Bama scheme in the SEC is nothing like what he will face in the NFL, no matter how good the SEC is.  He's a terrific college player but I just don't see him being able to take the 17 game pounding of an NFL schedule.  Drew Brees was a small NFL QB and even he was 210 lbs.

and I don’t disagree with anything you said there, but what is the basis of him not being able to handle nfl hits other than just guessing? I get logically him being smaller means maybe he’ll get dinged up more, but it’s entirely possible that’s not the case as we don’t really have any specific anecdotes to reference.

What I meant by being good enough for the SEC is football in general. He plays football, gets hit and doesn’t shatter. Bigger dudes will hit him harder in the nfl, yes, but he’s passed every test any other QB would have had up to this point.

I think that thuney vs. hargrave matchup is going to be really fascinating. Two really really good players. Whoever wins most of that matchup i think can turn the game. If thuney can hold his own without help then it allows the chiefs to help out on reddick and maybe sweat. If he can’t then they are going to have to help on hargrave and potentially reddick which is gonna open up things for guys like Cox and sweat and the others

There it is right there.

Sounds about right for a smaller QB.

Personally I'll be pulling for him, I was the smallest guy on my highschool football team and I always pull for the under dogs and little guys

It's why I loved Westbrook so much and have a soft spot for Devonte.

And the ignore feature pushed more. If people are complaining about certain people and not using it then that's on them.

I have been an active user of the Ignore feature, but in times like the past 3-4 weeks I find I take almost everyone off Ignore because even the worst of trolls seems to self-monitor effectively … and the overall quality of their comments increases to match the situation.  RTK has avoided all of his worst characteristics ever since the Playoffs has begun. His post count has gone way down. It’s as if he has forgotten how to spam. I hope it is a permanent change.

Given the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the banning of 4for4, it may be worthwhile to make it policy that the above mentioned restricted Ranter forum be used as a pre-ban step.  In addition the report button could/should/would be turned off in that forum.  Think of it as Purgatory.

DUM made his own blog in RnR after team RTK was winning and resulting in suspensions for him and 4for4.

Team RTK would go in that RnR thread and Quote posts back in TATE to bring the fight back here.  Both in the blog, and the Jalen Hurts discussion thread.

They've been looking for fights.  That's usually not mentioned by those who complain about 4for4 "following them around".

Like DeVonta I think the body size thing is just an unsubstantiated fear more than an actual analytic prediction.

There have been a few slim and smaller WRs who made it in the NFL. We had one in DeSean. Now he did have his fair share of injuries, but even with that, taking him mid second round was a complete steal. He only fell there because people thought he would break in half (and maybe a character concern or two).

Is there any notable occurances of an undersized QB with immense upside continually taking unusual injuries that caused him to never pan out?

In my opinion, if he can last in the SEC, then he’s probably going to be okay once he gets into his NFL body.

Yeah, I fell into this trap too. I remember thinking he would be a slightly more talented Pinkston. I was dead wrong, dude can play ball just as good as anyone. Love that he's on this team, and I know he'll rise to the occasion now that it's his time to shine.
