Let Gannon go. He’s not good, yet.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

We saw signs of this defense all year, but we denied it because they got a lot of sacks. Turns out the narrative that they suck against the better QBs was a true one. Prescott lit this defense up too.

Yep. The Gannon detractors on here are typically made fun of but I think we’ve just been calling it as we saw it. He sucks and has always sucked. Once his scheme got figured out in the second half, it was just plainly embarrassing.

I’m still of the opinion that the reason Nick  gave up play calling was because someone needed to look over Gannon’s shoulders.

The bad calls in the biggest spots really test my fandom and passion for the NFL.

It's tough to be on the wrong end of one. Really, really tough.

Agreed.  But no matter what we do, history will not change.

Offseason priorities:

1. Give Hurts his money, but strike while the SB disappointment is fresh.  If he wants to be on the winning side, he’s got to give them some cap flexibility.

2.  Sign CJGJ.
3.  Let walk: Sanders, Bradberry, Hargrave, White, Seumalo.

4.  Sign one of Cox or Suh.

5.  Modest effort to re-sign Edwards and Epps.

6.  Draft CB, OL, edge early.

7.  Draft RB, WR, DT mid rounds.

8.  I’m letting a lot of people walk and ideally maintaining cap flexibility.  If there is a young FA at CB/DL/RG that could actually be an immediate upgrade and long term solution, then look into making it happen.

Sign Cox or Suh?

You're drunk.

Your tolerance level for the vagaries of life is astounding.  It IS a beautiful game.  Enjoy it.  Your blood pressure will thank you.

Losers mentality

You saw the signs early on that the Eagles were needing 15, 16 plays to score and the Chiefs were moving the ball right down the field.

Combine that with the fact that Hurts was the one getting pressured in the 2nd half, not the gimpy Mahomes, and that was the game. This defense wasn’t going to win getting absolutely zero pass rush. And on the offense they couldn’t establish the run but the chiefs did.

The Eagles lost in the areas they needed to win.

Yea, in these shootouts, the team scoring TDs with subjectively more laborious drives almost always seems to lose in the end.

So depressed right now.  We're not going to have a team this good for years.  MFer.  We blew that ish, hard.

I'm in the shock or denial stage but will get to depressed soon enough. That was utter crap from the d but even with all that they stopped them on 3rd down and the NFL rigged it. Ball wasn't catchable...wasn't even close to something you can call there in that situation. F them all.

We're going to lose half of our team and Hurts wont ever play any better than this.

Hard facts we're about to deal with

I think Hurts will be fine under the stewardship of OC Brian Johnson next year.

Yeah we're losing a lot of pieces, but some I'm ok saying bye to. Think it's time for some and for the rest, they never showed up enough.

Dunno, it's turbulent and obviously a raw time atm. Think we'll see some solid moves made in FA and the draft, got to have that hope.

Nah in the modern nfl if you dont get pressure quick you are toast

Sadly sober.

Hargrave was awful tonight (not that personnel decisions should be based on one game).  But he’s also old and expensive.

If we drop Hargrave, Cox, Suh, and Joseph….we are cleaning out our entire traditional DL rotation sans Williams.  If Hargrave goes, you need someone to stick around.

I'm not even sure you call that in the 1st quarter, the contact seemed to be within 5yds of the LOS.  To ice the game... wow.

Was already losing interest in football and this may have killed it.

BS.  That Hurts fumble for 7 cost us the game!!!!!!

It’s a game.  We aren’t Trayvon Martin. We are sports fans, and we never step on the field, so we can’t be either winners or losers.  We are observers.

Whatever slight marginal improvements he makes is not going to result in that much of a better offensive product on the field.

The offensive product was not the issue. But that’s probably not what you meant. The offense put up enough to win. Fumble blah blah blah. But the defense never adjusted. As much as the ticky tacky call hurts, I’ll never understand the defensive strategy all game

Losing lots of pieces, but mostly very modest pieces.

I do think the combination of those modest pieces, the constant curse of SB loser hangover, the tougher schedule, and the absolute certainty of tougher injury luck next year will give next season a much tougher course though.

Nah. Clean house on the DL with the exception of Reddick. I'd take my chances with a bunch of unknowns. You know the other guys aren't good enough.

It was very weak but we shouldn't have been in a position where that would actually matter to begin with IMO

Sure did but past that and past the defense I never felt like the NFL was rigged before. There is no damn way in hell you can call that there. They made sure the Chiefs won.

I thought Watkins was interfered with, it was close but contact still before the ball got there and he wasn’t playing the ball

That's what Im saying.  Its really not reasonable to expect much better from the offense.  Sure one mistake cost 6 points, but other than that they dominated.

I dont know how the 2023 Eagles can be better than 2022, I don't think they can

F that. The offense was good enough today. All Gannon had to do was get one stop. He had nothing. Nothing. Zero. Every pass was wide open. Anyone blaming Hurts is a dope.

I can't even get to that because all I'll be thinking about is what they could have done with a minute left but we were robbed along with all the other fans watching who were deprived of a better finish. They got the stop they needed and the NFL took it.
