I'm in the shock or denial stage but will get to depressed soon enough. That was utter crap from the d but even with all that they stopped them on 3rd down and the NFL rigged it. Ball wasn't catchable...wasn't even close to something you can call there in that situation. F them all.

Catchable only comes into play for Pass Interference.  They called Holding, not Pass Interference.

Losing lots of pieces, but mostly very modest pieces.

I do think the combination of those modest pieces, the constant curse of SB loser hangover, the tougher schedule, and the absolute certainty of tougher injury luck next year will give next season a much tougher course though.

Yeah, but hopefully we'll be shot of Gannon at least 🙂

Lots to process.

Bad fumble, rebounded nicely.

Second half the defense was exposed and they never got away from that soft zone.  They were out coached at the goal line.

Punt return... they had him dead and let him get away.  Inexcusable, ST coach should be fired.  Only reason ST didn't cost us more game is because the offense defense didn't allow it.

Call at the end... tricky tack call to say the least.  To make a call at that moment of the game it has to be an egregious foul.  It wasn't and the ball was thrown ridiculously far away.  No chance at a catch.  Let the players decide the game.

That said, the Eagles lost because they were outcoached in the second half.  The defense didn't produce a single stop and the offense couldn't keep up in the track meet that the game became.

Great season, but will always go down as a disappointment.  This game was there to be won, and frankly they SHOULD have won it.  The team gave it away... and now Nick Sirianni crying during the national anthem will be a new meme and will forever live on to remind us all of how this game ended.

Was already losing interest in football and this may have killed it.

How does a billion dollar Fing company let old blind Fs who make less than a million per year call the plucking game ?

I was surprised by the amount of targets Pascal got

Nah. Clean house on the DL with the exception of Reddick. I'd take my chances with a bunch of unknowns. You know the other guys aren't good enough.

I suspect they have 0 confidence in turning the starting position over to Davis next year.

And while I am a huge Williams supporter, I’m not sure they are ready to pencil him in as a starter either.

BS.  That Hurts fumble for 7 cost us the game!!!!!!

Your trolling, or knowledge of football, or bias, is pathetic

So glad half this team aren’t free agents and we have a rookie QB contract. Oh wait. Both false. Jalen is getting paid and team will be depleted.

I don't want Epps or Edwards back. But they're Howie boys, so they'll be back. Nor do I want Cox. Kelce will retire, they'll let Isaac go. This team won't be back here for who knows how long. Party's over.

Hurts played fantastic outside of the fumble. Heck his numbers could’ve been even better without the reversal of smith’s catch and if quez made a play on the ball better. However I feel for him cause he’s gonna think about that fumble for a really long time cause it ultimately was costly in this game. chiefs dared the eagles to beat them throwing the ball and hurts damn near did as the running game was nonexistent tonight

Sadly Gannon and the defense just couldn’t do crap against the chiefs for the second consecutive game in consecutive years. I’m hoping Gannon leaves and takes the HC job because the defense is gonna lose a bunch of guys but even if we brought them all back i don’t think he’s good enough to have his best game and game plan vs. the very best. It’s hard to win a Super Bowl cause you are likely going against a Patrick mahomes or joe burrow or josh Allen. But Gannon has yet to actually come through. It’s great you can beat up on bad and mediocre offenses but eventually if you can’t force more than 1 punt in 2 games against the chiefs then it’s a massive issue. In the last 2 games against the chiefs, the chiefs have had 15 (possessions minus kneel down in 2021 at end of the half) and gannon’s defense has forced 2 punts and 1 int.

I’m surprisingly not too pissed off losing to Kansas City. Sucks that the birds couldn’t do much in the 2nd half considering how much they were controlling the game in the first. That Hurts fumble really turned the tides. Birds had the opportunity to go up 3 possessions, but that turnover killed everything going their way.

all in all, I thought it was a a season that far exceeded my expectations. Obviously wished we won the game, there were several opportunities for the birds to take it but they failed to do so. Defense was a big liability. Quite embarrassing to have 2 TDs with no defender within 15 yards of them.

Fing great season, enjoyed it with everyone on the blog.

Probably why.

What was the game plan on Kelce in the 1st half ? To see if he could catch?

Good Lord it was like a layup line.

Hurts outplayed Mahomes and they lost the game.  Let that one sink in.

The ref who called that last penalty deserves a coronary

F that. The offense was good enough today. All Gannon had to do was get one stop. He had nothing. Nothing. Zero. Every pass was wide open. Anyone blaming Hurts is a dope.

I don’t know how you could read that and think that’s blaming hurts. It’s not blaming any aspect of the team in particular, it’s just an observation, but if anything it’s a critique on the defense and how easy they made it on the Chiefs. The Eagles offense was good but at least the chiefs made them work a bit. The Eagles didn’t make the chiefs work at all.

Worst most gut wreaking loss of my life

They were very disappointing, Mahomes and Pacheco just playing hide and seek behind O Lineman

I agree with this. Very sound response to the loss. We just didn't do enough

The only good thing about this game is it all but guaranteed Kelce won’t retire

Whatever slight marginal improvements he makes is not going to result in that much of a better offensive product on the field.

Huh?  This game was lost on coaching, defense and special teams.  The offense did everything they needed to do.  If anything, Hurts solidified his value to this organization

You can’t give 7 points to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.  That’s what lost us the game and you can’t convince me otherwise

Hurts played his ass off. Did everything he could. Awful call at the end there but the defense lost that game in the second half. They needed one stop and they couldn’t get it.

If Quez didn't slow down mid-route... could've had a huge gain.  Pascal playing more snaps is probably related to the details.

What stinks is that was a C+ effort all around.  The Eagles didn't play their A game at any level.  OL allowed pressure.  Hurts had his issues (the fumble, several RPO calls).  Where was the running game?  AJ and DeVonta should have eaten up those CB all day long.

The game was lost in the 1st half.  To have Mahomes on the field for only 8 minutes and only be up by 10 you could just feel that he was going to pull it out.

If the Eagles play a B level game or at least one position group dominates, the game isn't close.  The game shouldn't have been close.

They let the game get to a point where the officials controlled the outcome and that's a damn shame.  What's even worse is that flag seemed to be thrown AFTER the ball hit the ground and was called incomplete.   If there's a definitive hold, you see that flag right away.  Ref didn't have his hands anywhere near the flag with Ju Ju and Bradberry right in front of him.

This sucks.  I would have been OK losing had KC kicked the field goal and the Eagles failed to drive down with 1:40 left.  To have it end like that though....really sour taste in my mouth.
