I’m surprisingly not too pissed off losing to Kansas City. Sucks that the birds couldn’t do much in the 2nd half considering how much they were controlling the game in the first. That Hurts fumble really turned the tides. Birds had the opportunity to go up 3 possessions, but that turnover killed everything going their way.

all in all, I thought it was a a season that far exceeded my expectations. Obviously wished we won the game, there were several opportunities for the birds to take it but they failed to do so. Defense was a big liability. Quite embarrassing to have 2 TDs with no defender within 15 yards of them.

Fing great season, enjoyed it with everyone on the blog.

Eagles had a 1 TD lead prior to the fumble iirc. Also, wasn’t the fumble on a 3rd down play that obviously wasn’t going anywhere. We’ll do the analysis later.but my instinct is that the fumble is a red herring in light of the subsequent TD drive.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Hurts outplayed Mahomes and they lost the game.  Let that one sink in.

The fumble counts too however, slippery out there tonight

Sirianni had some big balls this game. Several times he went for it. Great respect.

Loss tonight:

Hurts and offense: 0%
ST: 1%
Reds: 1%
Defense: 98%

Gotta give some of it to Hurts. He had a completely unforced error that gifted the Chiefs 7 points, and likely resulted in a 10 or 14 point swing.

But yeah, he played a great game otherwise and this is mainly on the defense.

Sadly sober.

Hargrave was awful tonight (not that personnel decisions should be based on one game).  But he’s also old and expensive.

If we drop Hargrave, Cox, Suh, and Joseph….we are cleaning out our entire traditional DL rotation sans Williams.  If Hargrave goes, you need someone to stick around.

Davis and Williams…then who?

need one more that isnt a scrub

I thought it was 14-7 or 21-14 at the time. Idk, I’m about 12 beers deep and need some time to think about it.

I’ll be the first to rip Hurts a new one next year when he misses an open WR for a TD or throws an errant pass.

I’ve got no complaints tonight.  He bounced back beautifully after that play and really erased it from the flow of the game.  We were up 2 scores after that.  And that play removed a KC possession that is probably a TD anyway with how the defense played.

If I were to criticize anything, it’d be the arm strength on that meaningless last play.

Honestly, I might even argue for Hurts as SB mvp.

He who refuses to learn can never become anything more than he is

Eagles scored 35 points, this game is on a he defense. The ref who called the last penalty should drown himself in sulfuric acid.

Nah hurts was mediocre and cost them a 10-14 point swing

I honestly didn't see an angle for Smith catch to be overturned

7 POINTS

The Eagles scored 35 points and had the #1 pass defense and lost.

Summing up this game very succinctly.

It was 3 and 6 after Seaumalo penalty. Would have had the first the play prior but the NFL emblem at midfield the paint must have been fresh because Gainwell was doing a split out there

Bye Gannon. Bye Slay, TJ, Epps. Fn losers.

That's what Im saying.  Its really not reasonable to expect much better from the offense.  Sure one mistake cost 6 points, but other than that they dominated.

I dont know how the 2023 Eagles can be better than 2022, I don't think they can

Yup. Unless it’s a miracle offseason with every player overachieving. This team was it. But, they mitigated our pass rush with the best QB in football playing his absolute best. But at a point, you have to try something different. They just let Mahomes have the quick easy stuff. And they had some good play calls. But I didn’t think we’d tie it up when we did. Credit to the offense for that. That’s the only reason the BS penalty is even a thing. They deserved a shot with a 3 point deficit with two minutes left. The defense finally earned that and got robbed. It’s really unacceptable. And that’s not just bias. I’d have hated to win that way if the tables were reversed. I’d be really happy, but also like, "yeah, that’s some BS.” But it’s moot now. 0-0 again.

Would love to see the refs explanation on this. Absolute bull crap

It was 14-7, well on their way to 21-7 and easily could have been 28-7 at half.  That fumble was a killer.  Hurts balled all game long but you can't overlook the fumble and several times where he kept the ball.  Would have liked to see a little more from the RB rather than him keeping it and trying to get wide.

Delusional

mediocre player exposed by a D that sold out vs the run and dared him to pass

This may have erased the credit that 2017 built up, Im not sure if Ill ever be as confident about the Eagles again.  Im not even drunk, Im just a moron for having a shred of confidence

Not gonna lie, this doesn’t sting nearly as much as I expected. Thanks to LII.

Let’s not forget the only reason the defense didn’t give up significantly more points than they already did was because the offense controlled the ball all game long.

If the offense had more quick strikes or 3 and outs, there’s no telling how many points they’d have on the board.

The ref who called that last penalty deserves a coronary

crap is totally fixed, he threw that flag by the orders of the NFL to help get Mahomes #2. It wasn't even holding and the ball was way overthrown. They handed a mahomes trophy # 2 so he can be the new golden boy and be the new talk of the town to possibly catch Brady's championships.

Should have stood as a catch. Not enough evidence to overturn but hey, blind phoking reeeetards.

This is just an insane take.
