Huh?  This game was lost on coaching, defense and special teams.  The offense did everything they needed to do.  If anything, Hurts solidified his value to this organization

Incorrect.  The offense needed to score at least once more than they did... and they didn't.   They had opportunities and squandered them away.  False start by Seumalo that turned the 3rd and 1 QB sneak into a QB draw that became a fumble and a scoop and score looms large as huge mistakes by the offense, first Seumalo, then Hurts.  In the second half, they had to keep the Chiefs at arms length... when the Chiefs started with a TD drive, the offense needed to answer with a TD of their own.  The FG gave the Chiefs the ball with the chance to take the lead, which they did on the very next drive.  Then the offense needed to answer that drive and get the lead back.  They didn't.  They did get the score tied again, but based on the clock, the opportunity had already slipped past for the offense to control the game, they were now dependent on the defense and ST, who couldn't handle their business either.

Team loss.  All phases had opportunities to keep the team in position to win this game and every phase contributed to the loss.  Teams win games and teams lose games.  The offense needed to be better than they were... same for the defense and ST.  All it would have taken is one swing play by any of those units.  ST and the defense was even bailed out once by the Chiefs kicker drinking one off the upright.  Wasn't enough.

Offseason priorities:

1. Give Hurts his money, but strike while the SB disappointment is fresh.  If he wants to be on the winning side, he’s got to give them some cap flexibility.

2.  Sign CJGJ.
3.  Let walk: Sanders, Bradberry, Hargrave, White, Seumalo.

4.  Sign one of Cox or Suh.

5.  Modest effort to re-sign Edwards and Epps.

6.  Draft CB, OL, edge early.

7.  Draft RB, WR, DT mid rounds.

8.  I’m letting a lot of people walk and ideally maintaining cap flexibility.  If there is a young FA at CB/DL/RG that could actually be an immediate upgrade and long term solution, then look into making it happen.

3? Why are you so ok with letting all of those guys walk? Or are just going to go on another offseason tangent about how fast WRs is all that matter?

Offense did enough to win this game. Fumble was still brutal and costly though. Can’t have that and win games against teams like the chiefs. Gannon and the defense which has been torched all year against top 10 offenses with good QBs got torched. It easily could’ve been more if butker didn’t miss a Fg. Defense gave up 31 points in just 24 mins of possession for the chiefs.

also ST screwed the pooch in a huge moment.

Gannon should've been way more aggressive in the second half, especially the last drive. You're getting picked apart slowly anyway. Be aggressive. Cover 0 all out blitzes and get the ball back at least. I was begging him to do that. He just sat there with the same BS.

I honestly didn't see an angle for Smith catch to be overturned

NOPE....not if we go according to the NFL rules.  Had it been called incomplete and challenged as a catch, sure, no catch.  But it was called a catch and you have to have clear, inconclusive evidence to overturn the call.  The fact that it took 5 minutes tells me they didn't have any clear evidence and in the end guessed.

The NFL might not have a game by game script but damn if I'm not thinking there's more to games being controlled a certain way.

Let’s not forget the only reason the defense didn’t give up significantly more points than they already did was because the offense controlled the ball all game long.

If the offense had more quick strikes or 3 and outs, there’s no telling how many points they’d have on the board.

Also no telling if the eagles defense would have changed tactics, lucked into some plays, etc.

It’s all speculation.

Also, I hate Kansas City.

If I knew we were going to give up 150+ rushing, I would've just gone with the penny fronts and taken our chances on the back-end and had Reddick/Sweat pin their ears back.

The Chiefs scored 31 points on 8 drives. That included a missed FG and the Chiefs not even trying to score a TD on the final drive.

Awful performance. We looked completely unprepared in the red zone by double moves.

It’s a game.  Get a grip.

Matt, seriously stop. You did this with the Phillies loss. It’s baiting and trolling to do this shtick. You might not be going through the same feelings but plenty others are.

Will be an interesting offseason. Gannon needs to be better.

That one seemed obvious to me

Who the F is the special teams coach? Can we shoot him into the sun?

This is just an insane take.

Toast is nothing if not consistent. That has been his take on Hurts throughout the season. He has never wavered.

I’m still not understanding why people keeping harping on hurts’ fumble. 24 points in the second half is nauseating 🤮

Yeah. Kinda like Schwartz in the SB. He went to Doug and said we’re going to be aggressive. We’re either gonna get the ball back for you or they’re going to score quick.

He’s too green for what we needed and he is certainly not ready to be a head coach.

Sucks that Fangio is already hired — would have been a perfect fit to replace him.

I expected the run D to be a lot better. That was one of the biggest disappointment. The chiefs OLine blocked way better than ours.

He needs to be hired by someone else.

One of the most frustrating things was watching Mahomes running as straight up and down with the biggest target on his back and not one defender being able to catch him when he scrambled.  I've never seen a slower guy not get caught.  Absolute back breaking scrambles.

He’ll be gone shortly.

Completely disagree.  Offense did more than enough.  Defense was a complete disappointment.  Needed to make a play and didn’t.  Offense is the only reason we were in the game.

Gannon getting hired away will be the best thing for us.

Yes, I’m aware that he has dug his heels in and refuses to budge despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Even for him, it was an insane thing to say.

I also think they score a TD if they go for it on that missed FG…
