Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Please name said team.

You know what both those teams did...

They RAN THE BALL!   🤔

Anyone 😂. Idk but the collapse would be epic

I’d never judge a player on not playing through pain…only on objective availability.

But in this case…the only judgement is on the team holding back on players that theoretically are safe to play (and with adequate pain control) simply because they don’t "need” to win and can "probably” win anyway.

Of Lane, Hurts, CJGJ, the low touches for Sanders, the constant zone defense…I think a lot of those issues are due to that approach.

I hate this because Hurts could have been injured in any one of the games this year.  The coaching staff allows him to take shots all year. Now, we gets a little dinged and they shut it down. They aren't playing paddy cake out there.  Football is a game of will, determination, momentum.  You take away all of that when you take your field general out of battle because he has a slightly sore shoulder.

I get the emotional aspect of this game, and the last one.   But there's no NFC team that deserves to be in the playoffs that doesn't earn it themselves.  There are now 7 teams.  And 8 or even 9 win team deserves to be at home, not in the playoffs over a 13 win team.

The Eagles are facing real adversity for the first time.

Losing on the road to Dallas is one thing. Losing at home to NO is another. If they don't bounce back against NYG, then it's over in the playoffs anyway. Good time for the boys to sack up.

I expect them to beat the Giants (but not incredibly confident either).  But I do expect them to do so in an ugly fashion that relies on mismatches against seldom used Giants scrubs in the 4th quarter.

So I think calling it a bounce back will be generous.  But a win?  Probably.

They just gotta learn to protect Hurts better. Don’t run him into the ground.

I said it a few weeks back but today reminded me...I hate Taysom Hill.  I just absolutely hate him.

Also, can't ignore this at all.  Why not give him help?  Run the ball.  Quick throws.

The drop-off from Lane Johnson to Jack Driscoll is monstrous. The third-year lineman was overmatched against Saints edge rusher Cam Jordan, who finished with 3.0 sacks, four quarterback hits, and a forced fumble.

From the very first play of the game where they sent the LB on a blitz off that right edge, the DE slanted, Seumalo took him, but Driscoll also went with him and they left the blitzing LB free to Sanders who didnt do very well in his block- you could tell it was going to be a long day with Driscoll.

Im disappointed in him. I thought he had ability. But hes now been around long enough that he shouldnt be clueless out there.

He wasnt just manhandled by Cam Jordan, but he made mental mistakes too. You cant be weak at the physical AND mental aspects. They have to try Dillard till Johnson is back.

This is three weeks in a row right now I believe where it seems blatantly obvious teams are lining up in the neutral zone against the sneak. Am I missing something or wrong here? How is this not an infraction? Kelce’s helmet is basically on their shoulder pads.

Allow me to put on my tinfoil hat.

I genuinely believe the sneak has been SO successful, in particular for the Eagles, that the referees are getting pressure from somewhere to interject themselves to balance it out. See the RPO starting in 2021. Also see that weird false start call they flagged Hurts for a few weeks ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if the competition committee eventually bans having players able to push the QB on sneaks either.

That was a pathetic display by the O.  Minshew was horrible and so was the coaching and play calling.  The lack of aggression on D was also just plain stupid.  It was pretty evident early in the game that the D needed to step up yet we waited until after half time to turn up the heat and come to the line of scrimmage.  The team was flat and unprepared, the game plan was horrible, and Minshew locked up a back up role somewhere next year. The sacks were the only positive whatsoever plus the one play to Brown.

In the end of the day, if you let it be that close then a single bad call by the officials can end up locking it up and that is exactly what happened.  This one goes on Sirianni for not having the team ready.  Minshew is who he is and the team needed to get a W in spite of his limited ability.

This is the Raiders game from 2017 except this time we lost.

I think it was a bit more than a little ding.  And I think he played through the pain when it happened, due to adrenaline.  I think it tightened up a lot afterwards.  And I think it was a little more than slightly sore, and with his style of play, he was more apt to re-injure that exact injury than most QBs would be.

Losing him for the playoffs ends the playoff run.  So, while it sucks right now with what is happening, every day he doesn't get hit is another day of healing for him and increases the chance that he won't reaggravate it in the playoffs.

Tbh some of this was on minshew holding onto the ball and not getting rid of it. There was 6 sacks and i thought at least 3 was just not getting rid of the ball

Been preaching this all season.  He's had moments where he was good protecting himself.  He's also had moments where he was not prudent.  And 17 carries for the QB is TOO MANY!

Im really not that compelled by the Hurts angle.  Minshew should have played better and the coaches should have prepared the team better.

When Dak went down the entire Cowboys team stepped up.  When Lance and the  Jimmy G went down, the entire 49ers team stepped up.  We lose Hurts and played and coached like dog ish.

The Eagles are showing themselves to be more Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens than 49er or Cowboy.

Yup. It’s a serious blemish on the coaching staff that the team has looked this bad the past two weeks between the inept play and the mental errors.

Cousins

Game over in GB.  Minny going down.

Waaaaaaaay too many. Running qbs don’t last. And running them. 17 times in a game, plus getting hit multiple times while passing, is not good. You gotta protect qbs by any means necessary.

cousins fumbles after a promising drive into redzone

I believe Smith has tied Irving Fryar's franchise record for receptions now. ESPN had him at 79 before the game, and 9 receptions during this game. 1 catch breaks it.

Looks like AJ Brown will need 5 catches next week to also break it.

Non zero-chance GB and LV win today. So it's us or Dallas.

Just means Dallas has a shot at the 1 seed… yuck 👎. I’d rather Minnesota get it over Dallas if Philly can’t get it.

It's almost like this was predictable.  At least he's going to return.  Could have been worse.  A broken clavicle and the year is over.

No worries.  The Eagles will still get it.  But 49ers are still ahead of Dallas.

hurts can handle a RPO offense  , it's just the game plan in chicago was plain stupid and got him injured. we have a 1000 yard back and what he had 6 carries in that game at the half, dumb game plan like today

Yup just protect him better.

Hopefully but I’ll believe it when I see it.
