I had such high hopes for Watkins this year,he played so well to end the season prior in the loss to the playoff loss to the bics but this year he just seemed unfocused and uninterested

If he doesn't slow up after his break he scores that TD, instead fur since stupid reason he comes out if his break and slows up then has to accelerate to catch up to the pass that bounces off his fingers

He runs all the way through that route that ball is right on the money and he walks into the end zone.

Super disappointed in him if he's not back it's not much of a loss, need someone more reliable there, not a guy that's going to half ass it because he doesn't get 10 targets a game.

I'd trade him if he has any value whatsoever. I don't want him at WR3 and he's not a STs threat. Convince some dumb team that Watkins was being held back this year.

Five rookie WRs I'd take over Watkins Week 1 2023

They both would have been UDFAs 🤣

NC is behind the curve too

Sucks you have to go black market for eddies

That's true about parents, it just sucks because you know your parents are supposed to be the ones that are the grown ups not the other way around...

My Aunt actually got my pot gummies for me in mesquite Nevada and just mailed them to me, I was like oh no I hope my 70 year old aunt doesn't get busted ...😳

It all worked out though, last time I got some was in Colorado but my wife doesn't like me having them because since it's illegal in KS  and part of her job is drug prevention she could catch some bad consequences if I got busted.

So until it's legal I don't have any

At this point I take them for anxiety which I really could have used this week leading up to the game and definitely now to chill me out.

That game just wrecked me, I'm still so upset about that D holding call to end it...☹️

Jobe is more likely than McPhearson IMO but probably would give Jalen Mills-like results.

Yeah they absolutely need youth at CB. Doesn't necessarily have to be #10, but somewhere in the top 2 rounds for sure. Look for another value band-aid in FA.

Yeah i don’t know what to think about jobe or mcphearson. Neither got much time and big question marks in terms of depth and potential starters. I do like jobe. Just not sure he’s capable of being a high end starter.

i tend to think they trade back from 10 to around 15-17 range. Probably get some extra picks. In that range I’m not against a corner. Not sure you are gonna get the pass rusher you covet at 10 and less likely at 15-17 range. if we get some extra picks in that deal would love if we could find starters at Cb, pass rush, Ot/G (play guard til lane retires) and a Lb.

hurts earned his money but sadly it also means we actually have to be crushing the draft with less money to spend.

He looked so good in that bucs playoff loss, then this year just fell off a cliff, he was so bad this year and if one could get anything in return in a trade for him I'd jump at it.

I'm trying to drink it away, and I can't.

We were robbed a final act.

We'll never know what heroics Hurts and his soldiers could have pulled off at the end.

I also suffer from anxiety.

Will probably wind up way past what I would normally imbibe

Which I should do too.🥱

Yeah me neither, no listening to the radio or watching ESPN or any of that.

Though the next new heights podcast should be a doozy.

I’m still up. Watching the offense vs. Chiefs defense. That fumble the chiefs linebacker knew what was coming and sat in the lane right up the gut. And the chiefs defense did a good job with rush integrity. Love how hurts played tonight but in that case he has to take care of the ball and just accept it as a play that was doomed. Tbh i wish we would’ve thrown it  to brown or smith. I don’t think the chiefs could stop either one of them tonight.

also eagles left plays on the field. Quez not coming down with that ball. Sanders not hitting a hole. Gainwell slipping prior to the fumble. As great as the offense was they could’ve actually had more points. Also that reversal of devonta smith’s catch is still BS. If they ruled it incomplete on the field it would’ve stood. They ruled it a catch and took 5 mins with nonconclusive evidence to overturn it. Don’t know if the eagles score a td but even the field we got after felt like a settle and some momentum in the favor of the chiefs.

also special teams made strides from where they were at the beginning of the year but that return by toney was just bad.

That hurts fumble was a fluke no one touched the ball he just dropped that slippery bugger

I agree about the Devonte reversal

I miss when the replay ref had a limited time I'm under the hood to view the replay, now he can sit under their for days with 500 still frames until he comes up with an explanation that makes zero sense and is totally opposite from a week before 🤷‍♂️ it's a bad system, and that was a catch , not enough conclusive evidence to support icer turning the on field call.

The return by toney wasn't really all on the coverage team,Sipposs shanked it for only 30 yards, stupid punter😡

Definitely wasn’t a good punt by siposs but this shot says it all. 3AF7FF38-9F82-4FB8-996A-2807BCFD9401.thumb.jpeg.68fc15e42667d6f46407291dc5366ae2.jpeg

I don’t know how you can watch that back so soon, man; I couldn't.

I’ve calmed down some, but it’s still very raw.

They hadn’t called PI all game, and that’s the play they call it on? BS.

In my heart, I feel like if the flag hadn’t been thrown and the Chiefs go up 3, we’re able to score with our final possession. Sadly, we’ll never know if I’m right or not.

The thing is he was the run game otherwise it was useless. He played good enough to win the DL did not

Tbh it’s harder on me to watch in real time then it is after the fact when i already know what’s going to happen. I’m already expecting it and I’ve already come to the point where i expect any outcome to happen. I’m frustrated with a missed opportunity more than watching them lose over again m. I can handle losing. It happens and sometimes you run into a great team.

My bigger concern is that this team is unable to get back to this position as fast as we would like. The offense i think will still be really good even losing Steichen, seumalo and sanders. I think Johnson will be fine. I think seumalo and sanders while good are areas we can find good replacements. However the defense is definitely going to lose a bunch of talent this offseason. There’s no other way to frame it. Epps, CJGJ, Edwards, bradberry, white, Cox, graham, suh, Joseph, hargrave are all FAs. I think we are fortunate if we just get back hargrave and CJGJ. Gonna be a lot of new faces added via draft. I also don’t think with hurts extension we can dabble into FA as much so we have to hit on these draft picks to build the defense into what we want again. A couple weeks ago i said eagles might be better off with fangio next year then Gannon because i think fangio likely can maximize a less talent defense whereas Gannon when given great talent like this year still had issues against good QBs.

Add on to that, that while Howie has done well drafting offensive players, he still has not proven to do well drafting defense. He obviously can’t sign free agents to one year deals on a consistent basis every year, especially after Hurts gets paid. He better hope like hell that Davis and Dean turn out to be studs, because both will be cheap labor we need the next two years.

I think most of us realize that this team is going to look vastly different next season, which is why this loss is so painful.

Speaking of Sanders, I was pulling for him last night. I often felt like the hate he received was unjust, especially this year. However, last night was a brutal outing for him all around (7 carries for 16 yards? Oof). If they chose to let him walk, I wouldn’t be too upset. Gainwell showed flashes late in the season, but I don’t feel comfortable with him starting and Scott behind him.

I hope fans understand this team was a once-in-a-lifetime team. While I do see us having success in the future, I don’t think this year will be replicated for a while. Offensively, I think we’ll be okay. I do worry about the defense, though. Here’s hoping for an efficient off-season.

From a production standpoint, the NFL makes the Super Bowl pretty unbearable to watch...at least the pre-game stuff.  Does anyone care about ANYTHING they did?

Not only was it way too much but it also took away from the game itself.  The way they had DJ Khaled rapping before the teams came out, to the teams just what seemed like jogging on to the field.

I also didn't notice if they ever did player introductions or starting lineups once the game started.

SB isn’t for the regular fans. It is the one chance the NFL gets in promoting to everyone else. Kinda sucks for the serious fans though.

This team is going to look entirely different next year. From coaching staff to huge player turnover.  It's going to be interesting.  Here's to a long off season.

Hence why losing this SB is so devastating. This team isn’t necessarily setup to return in the next 2 years and we have a QB whose style of play will more than likely limit his prime. This just really sucks.

Gibbs would be great, but I think we need to use that pick at a position of greater value.

There are a lot of good mid round RBs this year, so unless we can get good value through a trade I wouldn’t draft him there.

I agree, I am a RBBC guy. 3rd at the earliest. Gainwell is a very decent change of pace. Scott is ok too but not as cheap as we are going to need to be

Gannon is exposed when the pass rush can’t get there.  Spags on the other hand has blitz packages in his bag.

Tonight we needed something different but Gannon had nothing.

Yeah, this was pretty much the game.  Our O was totally flexible and could win in multiple ways while the D was simply one dimensional.  With the great DL and excellent CBs, the D was able to handle everything except the very best of Os with good passing attacks.  That weakness was exposed last night just as it was in the 2nd game vs. Dak.

Some random thoughts:

- Down the road I expect to get more saddened by not being able to get the W yesterday, particularly given how great the rest of the year has been.  The win in 2017 really took the edge off.

- Linval Joseph was no where to be seen in the 2nd half when KC just gutted us up the middle.  I kept waiting for him to enter the game but he never did.  I guess they hoped for pressure up the middle instead of stopping the run but that pressure never came.

- As many have suggested, the Gannon D was a big soft zone and a DL that got to the QB over and over.  When they didn't get there with four it was lights out against a good QB.  Eagles O had many ways to win but the D was only able to play one style and it cost them.

- Chiefs OL was not given enough credit leading up to the game.  They came in with a chip on their shoulder and won the game.

- The late penalty shouldn't have been called but that type of call is made in almost every game.  It wasn't a horrific call at all.  Sure would have been nice to see what Hurts could do on a last minute drive though.

- Despite the fumble, Hurts was excellent.  Exactly the game general we would have hoped for.  He might not be top 5 in pure throwing but he can certainly win SBs.
