Once in a lifetime was the 2017 team, Doug going for it in Eagles territory down 1 instead of punting is once in a lifetime.  TBF,  playing against scrubs like Jones and Johnson in the same playoffs plus KC missing Hill was icing on the cake.

The seasons over and the Eagles get KC next season, possibly game 1 on Monday night, start there, it'll be them in KC, or Buffalo at home.

Howie has to draft starters this off-season in the first 3 rounds, not Centers that ride the bench for a couple years, or projects that may or may not pan out.

Thank you. I was not sold on that Jurgens pick and if Kelce comes back, once again he have a high pick doing nothing. Dillard was a complete waste and this will be similar. We take Montez Sweat instead and our de situation is in a much better situation. It's why I don't want to use a first rounder on another o-lineman this year, unless Seumalo leaves. I'm very afraid of this team rebuilding the defense through the draft however. The most recent history has been poor.

Some general thoughts...

  • The two best teams in the league played last night.
  • Bradberry committed that penalty.  Should it have been called there?  I don't know, but someone complains there either way.  Its the team's job to put themselves in position to not let one fluke play decide the game.
  • That Hurts fumble was really horrible and ill-timed, but it didn't decide the game by itself.  Bad defense overall played a bigger part....how about just getting one stop in the 2nd half?
  • That bad punt which ended up in a long return sucked the life out of the game.
  • How can the Chiefs press man our premier WRs routinely and we gave theirs a 10 yard cushion?  Can Darius Slay man up a WR?  I'm not sure.
  • There is no excuse for a bad field.  None.  This is a premier sporting event in the world and it was garbage.  It definitely played a part, but effected both teams.
  • Miles Sanders isn't getting a big payday and rightfully so.  Our running game disappeared on the biggest stage.
  • Those blaming Hurts need to reevaluate this situation.  We aren't even in that game for a minute without him.  We aren't even there to find out.  That kid has earned a new contract with that development and his season performance.
  • This whole defense was solely reliant on sacks and pressure.  We now see what happens when they don't get home with Gannon's 10 yard cushion zone.  For all the coin that Reddick, Sweat, and others get, this is a major disappointment.  It had to come from the edge in this game versus KC's suspect tackles.
  • I said last week that Pacheco and McKinnon would be a tough matchup and it was.  Pacheco had some really power runs at key times.  Andy Reid stuck with it, too...who'd have thought that?
  • TJ Edwards ending up on Travis Kelce will cause me nightmares for years.
  • It was almost a masterful offensive game plan.  Controlling the clock and keeping the Chiefs off the field was perfect.
  • 35 points should have been enough to win, but the defense didn't get that ONE key stop.  It's so damn frustrating.

Disagree with almost all of that.

except i agree the field was dog ish and sanders can walk.

I'm reminded of this

Four key moments:

-Hurts fumble

-2nd half 3 and out after Chiefs take the lead

-Toney's PR

-The holding call

As bad as the defense was, Those 4 moments were critical in the outcome of the game.

The playcalling on the 3 and out was BAD.

1st and 20 Run

2nd and 18 (?) WR screen

Call the two things that haven't been working for us and then we get stuck in 3rd and long.

We really needed to just let them in quick once they got to midfield on that last drive

O, only player’s in question of losing are Seaumalo and Sanders. Expect Gannon back

We need AZ to save us from Gannon. We will never win a Super Bowl with his gutless game planning against the better QB's of the league. He was so in over his head last it was shameful.

I share the drafting defense concern but have to wait and see what davis and dean look like next yr

pass rushers are easier to draft i think. Will be stunned if we dont get one first round

5th key moment...

Taking the FG on the opening possession of the 2nd half.

I didn't hate this call. Shane not calling a run on 3rd and 2nd on the next possession, to give them the chance to sneak and keep the cball, was the issue.

In the Philippines listening to my Baltimore NPR station WTMD the dj was commenting on the game how very entertaining it was ( glad he was entertained 😏😏😏 ) , he mentioned how questionable and how unnecessary that HOLDING call was as a NEUTRAL fan. The problem with leveling the playing fields and human error

Agree with the vast majority of this.

They are absolutely drafting a dlineman in R1. My preference is DE, CB with those two picks.

Pitch and catch. Didn’t let the pass rush get going at all. Short passes, RPOs, screens.

Yup.  Needed to play up and bump them off the LOS from time to time to break up the timing.  Just far too passive on defense the entire game, especially as the game went later and later.

Take away 1 terrible play. Hurts had an A+ game

Who could have possibly seen this coming???

Jalen Hurts went toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes. He made some absurd throws. That throw to Goedert on 3rd and 14 was nuts.

Indeed.  Very good... but in a game like that, not good enough, sadly.

I need more from this interior d-line too. Hargrave and Cox totally faded. I would love to get Daron Payne. I'd let Cox and Hargrave go, f it. Dre'Mont Jones is another nice d-lineman with versatility that's only 26. I am a Davis fan but man could you do something last night? I do think he's just like a young pup out there though, he was a project with unbelievable measureables. I think he will take another year or two to round out into form, but he could bust.

Certainly not Gannon 🙄

They need to hit home runs on both. I have zero confidence they can do that.

Someone please try to defend Mile Sanders this morning so I can direct my anger somewhere rational.

I don't disagree.  That was the next pivotal moment that the offense failed to capitalize on.  Which is why I can't absolve the offense entirely.  A 3 and out against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, once they have the lead, is a recipe for a loss.   The O needed to answer the lead change immediately... and they didn't.  Frankly, the Eagles are fortunate that Andy didn't go for 2 on that next TD, because that makes it a 2 possession game and changes the complexity of how that final drive looks entirely.  And given the way the defense looked in goal line situations, I have zero confidence that the Eagles could have stopped them from getting the 2 points.

I don’t think that’s happening. He’s gone… bye bye 👋

A basic out route? Nah

now missing goedert wide open? More nuts

Not sure that can be done.

Agree there was a bad disconnect there on defense too often

Offense scored points good enough to win the game.  Unfortunately, the defense came up short.  The DL did not get a single sack or give enough pressure on Mahomes.  So much attention and expectation on Reddick to show off his skills, yet he was missing in action.

Hurts fumble hurt, but its effect was lessened when they came back and scored.  The long PR turned the game around to KC's favor.  KC scored 3 TDs in 3 drives.  The offense was able to come back and tied the score with the 2-point conversion.  The holding call essentially gave the game to KC.  It was the determining factor, but the set-back was in place in earlier moments of the game.

Disappointing end for an excited season.  Could they come back and be a contender in the coming seasons?  Some of the vets may not come back, or as effective as before.  FAs could sign somewhere else.  Wonder if and how many the coaches would be hired away after the loss at SB.  Changes are inevitable.  Will they create positive effects on the team?  We have a long off-season to pounder and debate.
