Offense scored points good enough to win the game.  Unfortunately, the defense came up short.  The DL did not get a single sack or give enough pressure on Mahomes.  So much attention and expectation on Reddick to show off his skills, yet he was missing in action.

Hurts fumble hurt, but its effect was lessened when they came back and scored.  The long PR turned the game around to KC's favor.  KC scored 3 TDs in 3 drives.  The offense was able to come back and tied the score with the 2-point conversion.  The holding call essentially gave the game to KC.  It was the determining factor, but the set-back was in place in earlier moments of the game.

Disappointing end for an excited season.  Could they come back and be a contender in the coming seasons?  Some of the vets may not come back, or as effective as before.  FAs could sign somewhere else.  Wonder if and how many the coaches would be hired away after the loss at SB.  Changes are inevitable.  Will they create positive effects on the team?  We have a long off-season to pounder and debate.

Nope, you don't get those points back. Bad, stupid, fumble and when the other teams scores 6 and you lose by 3 (not to mention it killed a drive) it's not something that can be excused.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

My anger has subsided, we played a hell of a game against the best player of this generation. We have a young stud QB, best GM in the league, a good HC, and a great offensive core.

We also have the ammo to replenish on D. I doubt we will be back next year, but I am confident we will win a SB in the Hurts/Siri era.

On to the draft!

2nd, 3rd, 4th don’t count poop

I don’t think I ever saw that definitive angle where Smitty drops the ball on the long pass before the half - in a game where TDs are required on every possession that was another missed opportunity… figured the Goedert one was going to go against us as well after the slow down the officials enforced to allow a review.

I'm not sure that he dropped it.

Yup, no reason to have such a horrible field in the biggest game of the year

A team that gets 70 sacks in a season doesn't put up a donut in the biggest game if the year just because. Eagkes have seen better o lines and gotten way more pressure but that field totally neutralized the eagles pass rush and they still almost won.

If I was watching on a black and white TV I would have assumed they were playing in snow or wet field, it was so slippery.

I'm not sure if it was Intentionally  done to give KC an advantage because they had plenty of guys slip as well but I agree on a better playing surface I think the eagles win as they get Alot more pressure than they did

Not one guy on that d line had a good game because they all looked like they were running in sand the whole game, just embarrassing that the NFL would have such a horrible field fir the biggest game of the year and that it would so negatively impact the eagles D line

Inquiring minds but you wanna bet we’ll never know

Wait, did someone say downundermike and 4for4 got banned?

It didn’t kill a drive - it was third down and that play wasn’t going anywhere.

I’m of the opinion that play is a red herring. He gave them 6 points on the fumble but it was more likely than not that the chiefs were going to score a touchdown after we punted anyway. After the fumble, we marched down and scored again so the harm down is being overstated.

My thoughts may change when this feeling fades but for now, I can’t get worked up about the fumble in light of everything else that transpired.

We lost by 3. He gave up 6. He did play well otherwise but that fumble was a pretty big deal and it was weird on top of it

It was an idiotic play call to begin with.  But Hurts dropped the ball regardless.

4for4 was. Dowundermike was suspended.

My opinion at the time of the fumble return TD is that it kept the Chiefs in the game.  They were always going to make a 2nd half push, especially now looking back and realizing they played the game on an ice rink.

But it would have been huge to get that 2 posession cushion early on.  We could have gone up 13 or 17 instead of 10 at the half.  Probably 17 the way things were going.

Just plugging holes isn't gonna get it done. This year we didn't have a lot of glaring holes on D from a players perspective, but we didn't have that 1 difference maker to make 1 play we needed.

Our O is good enough to keep us in every game, on D we need someone who can break the game open. Quality over quantity is needed IMO.

Could be other difference makers not involved with the team, just sayin’

I wonder about the call and a few others but I really, really wonder about how bad that playing field was and did it tilt it significantly. That’s all

We are fed the line about indisputable evidence, yet...

I wouldn't complain about a WR draft pick for a slot type player. I've been a Watkins hater for awhile and caught flak for it but I think most see it now. I just don't know if I'm comfortable using a high pick on one. Maybe round 3 is the sweet spot.
I really do want a more physical, punishing #1 style RB. That could've saved us last night if we had one. Once Sanders crap the bed basically on the first drive of the game it was a major deficit on offense.

I've been anti-Watkins all year too.  People are obsessed with speed, and for good reason.  But if that's all you can do, and you don't even make the most of it when you get the chance, you gots to go.

Even if he DID drop it, the video evidence wasn't conculusive at all.  It was called a catch and there wasn't anything that showed it should be overturned.  If Corey Clement's catch in SB52 was a catch, Smith's was too.  Should have added that to my moments of the game.  They are on their way to 7 instead of 3 if that stands.

I look at is as the football Gods making things right for the 49ers crying about Smith's non-catch catch in the NFCCG.

Have to have some replacement level guys somewhere. Its the reality of a capped world.

thats where the lack of talent on cheap rookie deals hurts so much

Look in free agency again and try to find another White type player. Looking at the draft, I think it's weaker than in years past. Not a ton of linebackers i am loving. Jack Campbell is one intriguing player as a middle guy at least.

In free agency, Germaine Pratt & Drue Tranquil are a couple of guys they could nab. Maybe even Lavonte David (who we should have drafted rather than Kendricks) would take a little less to chase a ring here? Unsure about that however.

Chase a ring here? No, not in 2023. We just punted on 2023.

I didn't post last night because I was fuming and not in a good place.

That said, we were outcoached.  Plain and simple.  Andy Reid and his coaching staff played chess while we were playing checkers.

From top to bottom, we had the better roster.  No excuses.

How in the world do you not trust your MVP level QB to throw the ball on 3rd and 5 with 3 elite receivers is beyond comprehension?

So you call a QB draw, while KC's defense was still firing on all cylinders?  And their arrogance when they came back and called it a few more times (maybe to prove a point?) I don't know.  It worked later on but it still makes no freaking sense.

If you don't trust your QB to throw the damn ball on 3rd or 4th down then that QB shouldn't be starting.  But the fact of the matter is that QB is more than capable of throwing the ball in those situations - especially when you have 3 elite level receivers in Brown, Smith and Goedert.  Trust your QB to make plays with his arm in those situations!

The best thing that can happen to this team is Steichen getting a another coaching position somewhere else.  Good riiddens.

And I'm not going to get on Sirianni - he's a good coach but he was out coached and out classed by a master.  Andy Reid and his coaching staff developed an elite level - Super Bowl worthy game plan.

Our coaching staff let their arrogance get to their heads and got smacked in the face because of it.

I think we need to keep our hopes for any significant moves at LB being made.  We know Nakobe Dean is taking one of the spots.  I've been saying it all year, don't be surprised if Davion Taylor is the other.  The Eagles were extremely high on him and his injury forced him off the roster this year.  He had the entire year to learn LB even more.  It would be the ultimate cheap replacement that theey could defend as a 3rd round pick finally coming in to his own.

They love Shaun Bradley for some reason.  They will at a high end ST type of LB in FA and then maybe draft a tweener in the later rounds.

Is Gannon still employed by the Eagles?

Facing a one-legged Mahomes, he sits back and get craved up - again and again.

This was a clear case where playing not to lose played to lose.

How do you figure we punted? No decisions were made yet. If Kelce comes back then I think they will be all in again.

Yea, it easily could have been a 400 yard day for Hurts if they called a better game.

To your last point, clear as day, HOF coach vs. 2nd year HC.  It was a masterpiece by AR unfortunately.
