I think we need to keep our hopes for any significant moves at LB being made.  We know Nakobe Dean is taking one of the spots.  I've been saying it all year, don't be surprised if Davion Taylor is the other.  The Eagles were extremely high on him and his injury forced him off the roster this year.  He had the entire year to learn LB even more.  It would be the ultimate cheap replacement that theey could defend as a 3rd round pick finally coming in to his own.

They love Shaun Bradley for some reason.  They will at a high end ST type of LB in FA and then maybe draft a tweener in the later rounds.

It is time to give up on Davion Taylor...

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Wow, I would absolutely hate if they just shuffled Taylor in as a starter. That would be basically neglect at the position. We have better linebackers in the middle last night it's much different. If Howie and company can't see that then this defense will always be a limited unit.

I didn't post last night because I was fuming and not in a good place.

That said, we were outcoached.  Plain and simple.  Andy Reid and his coaching staff played chess while we were playing checkers.

From top to bottom, we had the better roster.  No excuses.

How in the world do you not trust your MVP level QB to throw the ball on 3rd and 5 with 3 elite receivers is beyond comprehension?

So you call a QB draw, while KC's defense was still firing on all cylinders?  And their arrogance when they came back and called it a few more times (maybe to prove a point?) I don't know.  It worked later on but it still makes no freaking sense.

If you don't trust your QB to throw the damn ball on 3rd or 4th down then that QB shouldn't be starting.  But the fact of the matter is that QB is more than capable of throwing the ball in those situations - especially when you have 3 elite level receivers in Brown, Smith and Goedert.  Trust your QB to make plays with his arm in those situations!

The best thing that can happen to this team is Steichen getting a another coaching position somewhere else.  Good riiddens.

And I'm not going to get on Sirianni - he's a good coach but he was out coached and out classed by a master.  Andy Reid and his coaching staff developed an elite level - Super Bowl worthy game plan.

Our coaching staff let their arrogance get to their heads and got smacked in the face because of it.

Ah yes, arrogance. That follows suit from the owner to the GM with certain positions on the team and things they do and decisions they make.

I have ZERO hope for Taylor.  I'm just putting myself in Howie's shoes and how I think he is going to try to patch the defensive holes with limited cap space and draft picks this year.

We know they don't value LB.  We also know that Howie HATES giving up on draft picks he made and will do whatever he can to justify his moves.  Taylor would be a cheap, in house draft pick that Howie made and I can hear them saying he was a 3rd round pick for a reason and that we were lucky to have him on our PS all year long picking up the defense from TJ and Kyzir.  Playing next to a cerebral player like Nakobe Dean would let him be more reactionary than having to be the LB leader.

I'm just saying, don't be surprised if Taylor is in their plans.

Gonna be sick to my stomach about this until the draft.

To lose Steichen after Hurts’ huge jump this year "hurts” a lot. Ideally they promote Brian Johnson, and the Cardinals take Gannon.

In the draft/FA, we need DE, CB, G, DT, RB, LB, slot WR. Chauncey needs to be resigned.

I am confident we are right back in the hunt next year, though I am far from ready to put my optimistic hat back on yet.

epps needs to go away. that is all.

Maybe so but the owner and the GM put out an all star/pro bowl level roster from top to bottom this year.  This was the most talented team from top to bottom in franchise history.

This loss was on the coaching staff, plain and simple.

Sirianni acquitted himself well, his scheme worked and we controlled the clock and scored TDs.  Steichen was just ok, the playclock issues hurt us.

Gannon was an abomination.

I'll give you guys another day or so to pass out the blame before I open the Offseason Blog.

Make the best use of the remaining time.

6.2 aDot for Mahomes. And that’s with one deep shot that skews the data.

Curious... what was the median?

The one thing I'll complain about (although I still think Gannon sucks) is that the field pretty much neutralized the defenses. They already have to be reactionary to the offense but the field makes them one step slower. Their second half offensive gameplan definitely lended to taking advantage of that.

What on earth happened to our front 7 last night

This stuff cracks me up. Folks mean well when they tweet pleasantries like this but it belies real thoughtfulness. The chances of Jalen being back in this same position again in his career is minimal. That’s why we are all so distraught. We missed a golden opportunity last night and, playing the percentages, it’s unlikely we get another one for a long time.

We are fed the line about indisputable evidence, yet...

Ding ding ding... looked like they were speculating.  Looked like a catch, called a catch, it's a catch.   Bad process.  They need to stop micromanaging the reviews.  The review process should be real-time, but with different angles, not frame by frame micromanaging of the sport.  The sport is played at high speed, it needs to be officiated at high speed.

Thank you

I just don't get how you come out so lifeless on defense with that talented of a group. Yeah the LBs are overrated, but what do we need the Fing Pro Bowl defense to get one GD stop in the second half?

Nope.  This game shouldn't have been close.

You go into halftime with a 10 point lead, dominating time of possession, and come out in the 2nd half with a vanilla offensive strategy?

No, that doesn't work in my book.  And it obviously didn't work last night in the Super Bowl.

The Achilles heel of this coaching staff is their arrogance and came to fruition last night.  The Super Bowl is a different level - the players play at 110%, top speed, the coaching also needs to be at 110%.  Our coaching staff was at about 80% - if that.

The thing that frustrates me today is that I believe the Eagles were the better team.  Not just the better team in general, but the better team yesterday.

The only two breakdown disaster plays yesterday both went against us (and nearly a third).  One was a total fluke (Hurts fumble), while the other was a symptom of a year long problem with terrible non Jake Elliott ST.

The field was an abomination that unnecessarily introduced chaos into the game and forced adjustments.

But at the end of the day, we lost because the defense choked.  Every other problem was overcome.  The defense sucked early, sucked mid game, and sucked late.  From coaching, to the defensive stars, to each level of the defense, to the backups playing in rotation…they were all terrible.  Horrible.  It was the least resistance the KC offense faced in any game all year.

Yep. I was thinking about that false start all night.

Just a bizarre series of events. Still can't wrap my head around it.

This. Hurts played his best ball of the season after the fumble. Mistakes happen, it's football.

The defensive effort and the punting debacle are programmatic issues. I just don't get how you let that happen.

We took minimal penalties but the ones we did absolutely killed us.

That false start

Pascal OPI

Bradberry "Hold"

Jordan Davis will be a bust true or false

Havent had as painful a false start since Scott Young against the Saints in the playoff game with Garcia

He'll be fine.  He was banged up most of the season, playing behind 4-5 pro bowl level players.
