Yep. I was thinking about that false start all night.

That's ok.  They could have called the Chiefs for being in the neutral zone on that play.  They were clearly lined up off sides as Seumalo moved.  Granted, their lining up off sides didn't cause him to jump, but he did jump while they were in the neutral zone.  🤔

Lots of missed opportunities/mistakes that could have changed the outcome.  If the Eagles go down the field and score a TD on that drive, how does that change things?  Maybe the lead is still 10 at the half, because the Chiefs manage to score a TD on their next drive.  Who knows?

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I thought mahomes was dramatizing his injury purposefully to catch the defense off guard. The d ends started to break contain thinking he was a sitting duck. However, he was smart enough to know that if he didnt exaggerate his injury Andy would not have ran the ball as much.

I kind of feel that way as well. If so, they're not ripping off the band-aide. Think they will be all in again. Who knows how it pans out though, if Gannon is here it won't matter because he can't beat the good, never mind great QB's.

The Eagles played 5 "good" QBs this year. Goff, Cousins, Rodgers, Prescott, and Mahomes. The only one they did actually well against was Cousins, otherwise, they got carved up.

The call on Bradberry was illegal. Defensive holding is allowed within 5 yards. The teams were evenly matched, so don't give me the "we shouldn't have let it come to that" BS. They gave Mahomes the SB. This was even worse than the BS PI that gave the game to the Rams last year.

No, contact is allowed within 5 yards, but holding is not

Rodgers did not carve us up

I think he's a young pup out there. I will avoid all my emotions from last night and say, give him some time. He's a huge mold of clay with crazy measureables. Coaching will critical for him too. I say we need to give him another year, easily, to start to see more. But he can bust, I'm not going to deny it anymore.

No one likes chasing the raw physical freaks in the draft more than me, especially on the DL.  The jump that Milton Williams made from year 1 to year 2 speaks to that.

But I fail to understand how a professional…with access to Georgia coaches in college, professional coaches for almost a calendar year…and all of the film study and technical critique that comes with it…could simply vertically stand up out of his stance.  He looks like a high school JV lineman when he does that.  He’s done it all year.  The coaches no doubt know it.  He apparently can’t not do it.

This exactly. It wasn't just "a bad game". Yes Reid and Mahomes were brilliant but the issue is systemic. The trend is clear to see and very consistent over the whole season. Eagles D philosophically destroys bad QBs and gets abused by good ones. That's a recipe for a lot of wins in the regular season but not a good recipe to win it all.

Wait hold up. You're completely getting on the wrong coordinator here. The Eagles are a 4 down team in a lot of situations. They're usually very clever and effective in running out of 3rd & medium against defences expecting pass. This often gets them to 4th & 1 for an automatic sneak. So there's nothing wrong in the rationale of a QB draw against what should be a favorable match up, with the intention of getting to 4th & 1 if you don't convert. They just didn't execute. Usually they do.

They scored 35 points in a Superbowl. Steichen called a fantastic game. You can't reasonably ask for much more than that. Steichen will be a big loss if he leaves.

Looking at the other side of the ball, the Chiefs are the #1 offense in the league - so that's a tough match up - but statistically they had one of their best games of the season. The Eagles D underperformed relative to how other teams have fared against the Chiefs. That should be the focus.

The defensive scheming and lack of adjustments wasn't ideal.  Pretty bad, tbh.  But at the end of the day, it's the Super Bowl and a good offense with an elite QB are going to make plays and score points.

35 points on paper looks fantastic.  The issue is that they had a 10 point lead after the 1st half and only scored 11 points in the entire 2nd half when they should have put the game away.

They abandoned the run after calling the same exact run - back to back in the first half - when it didn't work the 2nd time they called it.  And then came out with a pre-season, vanilla offensive strategy in the 2nd half.  How can you not trust your QB to make plays with his arm on 3rd and 4th down?  So you start calling designed QB draws, one of which cost us the game because of the fumble?  And then come back and still call designed QB draws on 3rd and 4th down?  (It worked a few times later on but it just shows the arrogance of this coaching staff and their apparent distrust of Hurts' passing on 3rd and 4th downs.)

Slay hasn’t done anything since October. Wish we could trade him.

Unquestionably need a new punter next year.  Sipposs may have been returning from injury, but he sucked before getting hurt too.

I guarantee you they won’t fire the ST coordinator, so we’ll just have to hope for chance improvement there.

Yea he didn’t hold up well as the year went on.  He’ll probably play well to start next year and his decline will start earlier.  CB is a top priority.  Probably need 2 of them.

My god I did not realize this.

Mahomes didn’t even play one of his amazing Mahomes game and the Eagles still lost. Think about that. All he did was find the wide open guy. He had a few nice runs, but we’ve all seen Mahomes have games where he was 10 times better.

Many thought before the game that if Hurts outplayed Mahomes or went toe to toe with him there’s no way the Eagles would lose. That’s how bad the defense was.

A few years ago when the chiefs lost to the pats in the AFCCG, the Chiefs fired their DC because their defense couldn’t stop the pats and the chiefs had the better roster. Andy knew they had a championship window and they couldn’t be complacent. And Spags has been huge for them since they hired him.

Im sorry, but Gannon needs to go. This team has a championship window and we can’t waste it with Gannon. Congrats to him for the sacks. But the defense was historically outschemed. You simply can’t risk that happening again in another playoff game. How can you trust him?

Please take that Arizona job and if not, he’s gotta go.

Feeling fine this morning. Chiefs are a great team and made more plays. I just hope Gannon is gone. He shouldn't even get to leave on his own terms after last night. He should be fired.

Strongly disagree.

The metrics being posted last night and this morning are very telling. We know the Chiefs O is the best in the league. So don't judge them based on other Os. If you instead look at how the Eagles D performed compared to all the other Ds that played the Chiefs this year, that's the relevant benchmark. And the metrics show that the Eagles D performed worse last night than most of the teams that played the Chiefs this year. That means that Gannon wasn't just pwned but he was pwned worse than most other teams this year. That's not good enough.

Conversely, the Eagles O were about as close to perfection as you could ask for them to be realistically be. Of course you can nitpick plays here and there. You can do that in any game. You can even do that for Reid and Mahomes. But if your O scores 35 points (with very little to no help from the D or ST) and the D underperforms compared to other teams playing the Chiefs this year, to me it's pretty obvious where the blame lies.

Most of their big runs came off tackle. They generally didn't get a ton up the middle. They were abusing our (lack of) LBs.

And sweat didn't ever set an edge, Reddick was doubled the whole game but there weren't too many runs his side, they went straight at sweat all game and he got pushed around and out of position all game and yes the LBs weren't good, love Edwards work ethic and attitude but his inability to run dude line to sideline was exploited by chiefs and white as usual did nothing all game, dude made zero impact plays all year, if you would have told me he didn't even play in the super bowl I would have believed you can't remember his name being called at all or him ever doing anything of not

Having said that the slippery field conditions greats negatively affected the defenses on both teams and totally neutralized the eagles pass rush.

I waited all year to hop on the Gannon hate train…and I’m still not quite on it.  I think he designs a nice defense and the overall performance of several players this year speaks to that.  But I don’t think he can adjust or present looks that slow down a good qb.  He will not and cannot adapt.  Of course every defense is worse against top qbs.  But I do see it as a uniquely severe problem for him.

I do hope he gets a HC job somewhere.

If you believe Tra Thomas, he's gone.  Wait and see.

Thank you. I was not sold on that Jurgens pick and if Kelce comes back, once again he have a high pick doing nothing. Dillard was a complete waste and this will be similar. We take Montez Sweat instead and our de situation is in a much better situation. It's why I don't want to use a first rounder on another o-lineman this year, unless Seumalo leaves. I'm very afraid of this team rebuilding the defense through the draft however. The most recent history has been poor.

Seen the idea somewhere that if Kelce comes back they could plug Jurgens in at RG to replace Seaumalo

We need AZ to save us from Gannon. We will never win a Super Bowl with his gutless game planning against the better QB's of the league. He was so in over his head last it was shameful.

Just sayin’  😏😏

It is what it is

I'm interested in knowing if Bradberry and Slay can play press man coverage consistently?   The most confounding this was their young CBs pressing AJ and Smith with no coverage over the top again and again, WHILE WE GAVE 10 yard cushions to a typical AR, cobbled together receiver group.   There's just no way that we should just keep zoning away getting burned.  If those guys can't man up JuJu, its a damn shame.

Undytaker suspended too.

Hazleton suspended as well.

All right before the Super Bowl.

Hazleton posted here this morning

Jurgens is in the mold of Kelce.  He’s very athletic and quick, but a bit small.  Jurgens at RG makes the OL far less stout.  I think their trademark play wouldn’t work so well, nor would running to the right side.

That’s Gannon for you. Receivers ran wide open all game. Didn’t see one pass breakup, not one contested catch, nothing.
