And he missed a gaping hole on that one too, because he was racing to the sideline again

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

We would have won the Super Bowl last night if Jim Schwartz was the DC instead of Jonathan Gannon.

Not sure about that. The Pats didn't put the entire second half either

It wasn't a missed call, Bradberry admitted that he held him after the game and was hoping they would let it slide. I think we're all just disappointed because we wanted to see Hurts get the ball back down three with a chance to tie or win the game. And that's understandable.

The issue is with the consistency.  There were no other holding calls the entire game and that tricky tack call at the end of the game was the one they chose to call??? That's the issue.

No one likes chasing the raw physical freaks in the draft more than me, especially on the DL.  The jump that Milton Williams made from year 1 to year 2 speaks to that.

But I fail to understand how a professional…with access to Georgia coaches in college, professional coaches for almost a calendar year…and all of the film study and technical critique that comes with it…could simply vertically stand up out of his stance.  He looks like a high school JV lineman when he does that.  He’s done it all year.  The coaches no doubt know it.  He apparently can’t not do it.

Hypnotize the giant dunse then

I'm interested in knowing if Bradberry and Slay can play press man coverage consistently?   The most confounding this was their young CBs pressing AJ and Smith with no coverage over the top again and again, WHILE WE GAVE 10 yard cushions to a typical AR, cobbled together receiver group.   There's just no way that we should just keep zoning away getting burned.  If those guys can't man up JuJu, its a damn shame.

They absolutely could. Gannon just f'n sucks

The #1 reason we lost Super Bowl 39 and Super Bowl 57?

OUTCOACHED

And to make it worse, when we had Andy Reid, he got outcoached.  Now when he's against us, he outcoaches us.

He gave us several chances.

Inexplicably not going for 2 to make it a 9 point lead

Kicking the FG early.

He left the door open as always, but all the nonsense was too much to overcome

It was the same for both, but both have different styles as well. Power vs speed....speed doesn't do well when there is no grip same as a sports car when it's slick.

It'll effect teams differently though depending on how they're built though. At that point it comes down to which team does it hurt less. I still blame Gannon ultimately but our normal defensive scheme was neutered by the field. Our front 7 isn't really designed to blitz.

I've never wanted to lose a coordinator more.

As someone said earlier Hurts and co. really need to work on scramble drills when he rolls out the pocket.

There was a play last night where Hurts scrambled to his right and defenders were starting to close in on him.  I believe it was Stoll who was blocking someone or trying to block.  The defender got by him and started tracking towards Hurts.  Stoll keeps following him trying to keep blocking him.  If he had just let him go and stopped Hurts could have dumped it off to him for a big gain.  There was nobody else around for 15 yards.

Cut the BS about expecting more. It’s both wether you realize it or not. You feel some way about the outcome, others feel differently. Telling people "it’s just a game” or "get a grip” not even an hour after the end is dismissing THEIR feelings. Let people be angry and vent. You don’t need to tell other people how to feel to express your feelings.

An unsatisfying finish to a Stellar season has people attacking each other.

Just saying for everyone, channel the anger/letdown into the appropriate places.

D couldn't stop a thing in the second half, D line didn't show up, Brad's ticky tac penalty so much on time.

We had our opportunities to put this one away, didn't get it done.

If we couldn't beat the Chiefs with the better roster and Hurts playing the game of his life this year, not sure how we'd beat them next year should they face off again in the SB.

Andy Reid whooped us and that's something the Eagles can't change in the offseason. We just can't make our coaches as good as Andy Reid. Plus we'll be losing some key guys.

It wasn't same surface used during the regular season.  Kind of stupid to debut a new field without any kind of testing.

I can’t think of a worse mood than I’m in right now. Maybe the the Bucs shutting down the Vet. I don’t remember being this depressed.

In the second half, Mahomes’ time to throw was 2.23 seconds — the fastest of his career.

The pass rush had zero shot.

Hurts shouldn’t have to play like that for them to win a SB. They need a defense that actually defends. One 3 and out in the second half would have won us the game. That can be fixed in an off-season.

Lets not also forget we played in State Farm stadium (Maholmes and Andy in their commercials)

Only two times has a team came back from 10 down in Super Bowl. Patriots vs Falcons and last night. Who was the Ref in both those games? Mr. Carl Cheffers

Eagles are 6 and 9 in games officiated by Cheffers including that game in 2018 when we lost to NO in the playoffs. Chiefs are 17-7 with him.

The NFL completely negated the Eagles pass rush with that field.

Reddick looked like he was running on a slip n slide most of the game.

Again, it was the same for both teams,,, no excuses, just saying...

I don't think Reid was that great in the game but that's just my opinion

Pretty sure chiefs were down 20-10 to SF in the 4th Q of their Super Bowl

What exactly did we learn in this game that we didn’t already know going in?

Cheffers called the holding call that knocked the Falcons out of FG range, that would have iced the game.

(Falcons fans still are salty about that)

It will only make this day all the shittier if they hired someone other than Gannon.

Not sure how it would be, the defense was pretty loaded with talent and they'll likely be losing key guys from it. It's pretty likely the defense is worse next season, honestly. And even if they lose Gannon, there's no guarantee they the replacement is some stud.

Further confirmation that Gannon and his defense isn't able to offer any resistance to good/great QBs.
