I think the 10th pick will be used to draft the position of whatever key player the Eagles lose in FA. If they keep Bradberry and lose Seumalo, I think it'll be OL. If the reverse, I think they draft a CB. Lose Hargrave, could go DL.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Also, based on the replays they showed in the stadium, no one thought that Smith catch would be overturned. Was there something on TV that made it obvious?

Nothing really.  I think it was a get back call for the miss at SF game.  No one can convince me that the booth/NFL doesn't consider those things.

What makes this hurt so much for me is that this isn't the beginning of a window. This was a unicorn of a season with barely any injuries and cap room to make moves.

Hurts gets paid and then we have to start actually relying on the draft and that scares the ish out of me because we are generally bad at getting immediate impact out of draftees.

We have a young offense and a defense that will hopefully get younger and better this offseason. Plus, the rest of the conference is a steaming pile of poop. Not a lot to be worried about imo.

The only silver lining in this game was Jalen Hurts. He has left no doubt. This is the guy we've waited decades for.

Didn't even catch this last night.

Might be an unpopular take but I hope Sirianni starts reigning himself in more in the future. He's been peacocking too much for my liking.

Me trying not to complain about Gannon every 5 seconds:

A Pacheco, Brian Robinson, or Dameon Pierce type of RB would be perfect in this offense. Three guys who gave this defense the business this season. I haven't looked into it yet, but there has to be a guy in that mold that you can get in the 3rd-4th round of the draft this year. Maybe Tucker out of Syracuse. You can find guys like that without investing significant capital.

They easily could've had a RB in last years draft, I'm not seeing this draft in the same light. Howie should've added to our RB room, there were more than a few in here that was pleading for it. Would've helped this year especially last night, that's for true.

Fair take...

We can't effectively pressure the QB if we have to rush the O Line on the same stretch of ground they're blocking us on...

This is going nowhere...we lost the battle of the trenches, something we were expected to dominate.

Micro Dissection next...

The slippery field effected the pass rush more than the offenses ability to block.

Usually is the case In slippery fields like slippery snow games

As such that environment negatively effected the eagles more as so much if their success defensively is predicated on their ability to create pressure with  just 4 something they did better than Any other team in the league up to that point

That the field was a disaster isn't really in question it was an obvious disaster, that slippery conditions benefit offense more than defense is a pretty established train of thought I feel.

So the only thing that's left to debate is whether the bad field conditions gave an unfair or unfortunate advantage to the chiefs simply because the eagles D is so heavily predicated on generating pressure with 4 and that ability was negated simply by the playing surface

It's more likely to surmise that a team that led the league in sacks and pressures generated by 4 were greatly negatively effected by the playing surface than it is to surmise that the eagles D line who were historically good at pressuring the qb up to that point all just had really bad games.

They have to be looking Oline heavily with that first pick.  They could easily lose Seomalu, Kelce, and Dillard.  Backup OG may go to jail.  And who knows how much longer Lane goes.  Seems like a hole is right there and they prioritize the positions.

I'm upset about losing obviously but not that bad.

KC is a great team and we hung with them.  Arguably had chances to win as well.

The NFCCG loss vs the Cardinals still is the most upset I've ever been.

Nah, just prefer Jalens demeanor way more. Especially in the Super Bowl.

He has fun competing; that's the ethos of the team and has been huge this year. Will be interesting how he handles if/when the team sucks.

I don't see how it's possible the defense will be better unless you mean they bring in a Coordinator that can do more with less.

No "at least" for San Fran. What they have been doing is beyond embarrassing.

Normally I'd say the Niners will take a step back next year after losing Saleh then Ryans, but that division has turned to slop.  The Eagles still have the best team in the NFC IMO -- depending which FA they can re-sign

Agreed 100%. It's a frontrunner move. Mugging into the camera in that Giants game. Just uncalled for. How are you gonna act when you're having a rough season?

They'll look but they don't have to take OL there. Guards are easier to find in later rounds than starting corners. And if they lose Bradberry, they won't have the money to sign a legit starting CB opposite Slay. Can't go into the season with a hole at starting corner. I'd think CB would be #1 priority.

Still has alot to work on as a passer.

The use of his legs and scrambling will become less and less as he gets older.  He will need to improve as a passer.  No doubt he will work at it but it still needs to happen.

I get it but why give the other team extra motivation, especially in a close game?

Hmmm...

This doesn't make Gannon look better at all. His blitzes suck. Andy took him to school and gave him detention. And there's a big difference between bringing 5 at the QB and actually forcing the issue with a legit 6-7 man pressure. Especially late in the game when we needed to force the issue.

I mean how many times did he get exposed by the same thing? Slight pre-sap motion that complete confused our coverage? Stop playing so far off the WRs. Simplify it and stick a man on a man. Absolutely nauseating.

I'm wondering if they're considering our 5 man fronts as "blitzes." The only actual blitz I recall was the stupid one he called near the goal line where they sent 6 or 7.

Here's the thing about blitzing/playing man. You need to have your guys practice this all season. We didn't.

Also, our best blitzing LB didn't see the field the entire year.

Did McNabb ever play a single playoff game as well has Hurts played last night? Just want to see how the best QB in Eagles history tracks with Jalen.

After 2001, always seemed like McNabb became a passenger in the playoffs.

Tucker is a lighter speed guy. No where near as physical as Pearce, Robinson, Pacheco. Pacheco was a 7th rounder, shame on Howie and his scouts for missing the boat on this guy who's right up the turnpike.

Zach Evans and Israel Abanikanda are two guys I'm liking a lot right now.
