How many teams are going to copy the rugby scrum play next year after seeing 1 yard become virtually automatic?

At least half the NFL right?

I do think there are only a few teams who could do it close to as well as us. It’s not just Kelce, it’s Jalen, it’s the offensive coaches, it’s Mailata, Goedert, Dickerson…

It’s not some revolutionary call, we’re just out-skilling defenses. I believe there’s a reason we haven’t seen it take over until us.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

He's a hate the face guy for me... can't stand him.  I don't want to listen to him talk for 3 hours.

Teams have been doing that though. They’re just not as good as the eagles are at it.

Thanks.

I thought I was dead for a second.  Then i saw the date, I was going to be allowed back on the 18th.

Then i had a pleasant surprise this morning when it let me in.

Mod12 apparently meant to let me back in time for the game too, although somehow that didn't happen.

But I'm here now.

Missed, welcomed back...

Greg Olsen was very good last night.

I thought I saw the competition committee is going to review it because some teams complained. It may be illegal next year

Tr he sees definitely some truth to us having a unique group of guys to leverage this play, but at the same time, there are a lot of big, strong QBs and technique can be taught.

A big part of why it works so well is Jalen Hurts' lower body strength.  We got stood up when we tried it with Minshew.  Not sure how successful other teams will be with it.

Yep. I don’t get why people dislike him. He’s understated but informative.

Have they? I haven’t seen it. Granted I’m not watching as much football as I’d like.

So our defensive line couldn't rush properly because of the paint? What could Gannon have done differently?

Gone back in time and have them install artificial turf

almost every team we have run that on line up offsides

He over-relies on the pass rush and has all year. He should have blitzed more, especially late in the game. You have to make better adjustments.

Plus, his defense just looked completely disorganized and unprepared.

Oh, definitely. But looking around the league, there are a lot of strong, athletic QBs these days. Maybe it won’t be completely automatic for them like ours is, but 85-90% conversion on 1 yard is a hell of a play to have in your book.

Dropping more into coverage.  Creative blitz packages.  You have to try something/anything else when you're getting worked like that.

But since he isn't a "blitz guy" we were woefully unprepared to blitz when plan A of getting a strong rush by the front 4 didn't work.

Spags was able to scheme up more pressure with less talent.  The difference in the game.

Considering what he did with one of the most stacked defensive units in the league? Plus the offense blowing out teams usually. It almost can't get worse.

All the available tools and Manpower, still couldn't complete the job.

In my line of work, here's your last check, get in your truck and leave...before I beat the snot outa you...

That doesn’t seem possible.

We didn't have a backup plan because we just let the front 4 destroy everyone generally. We're not good at blitzing due to a combination of personnel and he's just not a very creative DC. Didn't even attempt to really throw in DB blitzes or anything to try and change it up.

Gannon, especially against top tier QBs, is terrified of being beat deep. So he'll never blitz, sit back in zone, and force long drives. The problem is guys like Mahomes can keep slicing and dicing that zone crap to death. We had 2 top outside corners and their receivers are nothing special -- this was a game to go against trend and blitz while playing man. But Gannon has only one card in the deck.

Most important off season move….Arizona hires Gannon.
