Sirianni’s smug look at yesterday’s press conference still bothers me. The sense of "I’m smarter than you” while your team looks completely hapless two weeks in a row is infuriating.

He got away with it in Dallas because for some reasons fans actually thought that display in Dallas was OK (why folks here overrate that Dallas team, I have no clue); he won’t get away with that this week.

His team looks worse than last years’ version.

You just drone on an on.  The team is 13-3, tops in the NFC and tied with KC overall, and lost the last two games in close contests with their backup QB and with a bunch of other key injuries. Give it a rest dude and enjoy the ride.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Ugh.

I'm sure Sanders would've done a good job yesterday. He looked good when they did give him the ball. They just abandoned it. And why not bring up Sermon? Give him some touches to see.

Great question.  Not that he's the next Blount or Ajayi... but he's better than to be ignored.

This isn't pro Minshew or anti-Hurts, it's anti sports journalism comment.

This is how the article begins.  First 3 sentences.

Jalen Hurts would have looked up. Jalen Hurts wouldn’t have thrown the pass.

Jalen Hurts would have won the game.

How exactly do you know any of this Dave Zangaro?  Hurts is good, we know that.  But the whole Hurts does nothing wrong spin has been going on for over a year.  It's nauseating. I heard Jalen Hurts can lower gas prices.

Jalen Hurts is a far superior QB that's why.  It's not rocket science to realize the Eagles win the past two games with Hurts.

It's a wonder how some of you people still can't get it.  It's not called spin, it's called reality.  He was the leading MVP candidate before he got injured.

Jalen Hurts has never thrown a pick 6? .   Pretty sure he did... against the Jags.  Therefore, the premise is eradicated.  Next article.

Teams that run the ball 25+ times against the Saints this year are 7-4.

Teams that run the ball less than 25 times against the Saints are 2-3.

Makes me miss Andy Reid although he drove me crazy sometimes as well 😂

This isn’t 2017 but happy that you’re staying positive.

Yeah I know but it was also a result of the draft.

Also, yes there were Tate/Quinn but there was also Ajayi/Joseph.

Joseph was a UFA.

And yet the coaching staff just kept throwing and throwing and throwing. Do we actually trust them to adjust next week?

It’s nice to be optimistic and live in a land full of rainbows and unicorns.

4th and 1 is why you need a bigger back. Sure the sneak has worked alot. But it’s also good to have a bigger back that can get those tough yards.

Far as I remember, he has had exactly one carry this year and it was a really good one.  He also seems to have more power than any of our other guys which we absolutely miss.

It’s very hard to win a game in the nfl if you don’t actually try to win.

And deciding to try in the second half when you realize you aren’t coasting to a W doesn’t count.  I mean preparing all week, using the players actually available to you, and making a game plan to win instead of a game plan to disguise your tendencies for the playoffs.

That’s trying to win.  And even with a really good team against a really bad one, apparently you still have to try.

And now they are embarrassed into trying to win the one game they should have spent popping champagne and bubble wrapping everyone.

That is why I didn't get sitting Hurts this week (and last week for that matter) when he could have gone.  It is hard to win in NFL even against lesser teams.

I think he’s only been active the one game and was hardly even used in that game. Typical Eagles though. Stick with the same old same old.

Gotta hope that he blooms next year when they need him, I doubt Joseph is back.   We have to hope that the long game works with him and we get big contributions from him during his rookie contract.  But... Howie's track record of drafting defense is very weak.

Milton Williams is coming along after a quiet start to the season…

Perhaps not but it is better than 90% of all Eagle years by leaps and bounds for the most part.  Only 1980, 2002, 2004, and 2017 can stack up in the Super Bowl era.

Zero faith in this coaching staff in the playoffs; they are young, stupid, inexperienced and have no barometer for the game. I’m of the mindset that Hurts shouldn’t start against the Giants unless he’s 100% healthy. If reinjures his shoulder, the dream is over.

Hurts is the ONLY one that can bail this team out at this point. Goddamn this coaching staff for putting it all on him…

Hurts has his faults, all qbs do. But he’s certainly better than Minshew and the fact anyone thought otherwise is crazy.

Hurts has played well above my expectations for him this year.  He does struggle with some things like pocket presence and certain throws.

No, it's called blind conjecture.   He has thrown a pick 6 in the past.  He has made mistakes, he's not perfect.  Would he have made that mistake in that moment?  NO ONE KNOWS.  He wasn't there, so he might have... he might not.  Point is... he wasn't in the game, so what he would have or wouldn't have done is completely irrelevant to the outcome of that game.  And just bemoaning the fact that he wasn't in the game removes the onus from the coaching staff for not recognizing that they had a different QB in the game.  Shame on them for not adjusting to that.   And shame on the writers for not shining the light on the coaches for not adjusting to their available players.   Lazy writing.

The team, coaches and doctors said he couldn't go.

Do you know something they don't??

Speaking to Gannon's conservatism. Note that Sirianni is not wired this way on offense. Dickerson/Smith/Gainwell all got real playing time as rookies.

2021 snaps from defensive rookies:

  • Milton Williams: 456
  • Tarron Jackson: 253
  • McPhearson: 179
  • Patrick Johnson: 111
  • Tuipulotu: 55

2022 snaps from defensive rookies:

  • Reed Blankenship: 246
  • Jordan Davis: 216
  • Nakobe Dean: 34

There are guys like Josh Jobe with 10 snaps.

Gannon doesn't want to get beat, so he's just not playing the young guys. Blankenship was immediately better than Wallace. Kyzir White has been bad for more than a month. White has 0 INTs, 0.5 sacks, 2 TFL and 98 tackles in 784 snaps. Dean has 1 TFL and 13 tackles in 34 snaps. Dean looked better against the Giants than Kyzir did about a month ago. Jordan Davis is invisible? We spent the first half of the season discussing on/off stats for the run defense with Jordan on the field. We know Fletcher Cox is better in 30 snaps than 50. Cox has publicly said this. There's no reason to use Cox on 1st downs. Just play Davis/Joseph in 4 man fronts instead of 5 man fronts.

The offense with Hurts will figure this out. I have zero confidence in Gannon putting together good gameplans against LaFleur, Moore, Shanahan, etc.

I just hope when Hurts does come back he doesn't try to do too much and be superman.  In other words just trying to use his legs alot instead of mixing everything to keep defenses on their toes.

He got hurt, he is not the MVP.

Part of being the MVP is being available, and he was not due to his style of play.

At least Lamar won his MVP and a playoff game before he started getting hurt and missing games.

Hurts has missed games in both seasons he has been the starter.

Yep hence why we should all relax and watch the meltdown of the kind of season that we may only see a couple more times in our lifetimes.

Yep a rare season is potentially going down the drain but I should stop droning on and on.

One of the picks was used to get Brown so you have to factor that in somewhere. Otherwise, too early to tell as is often the case during year one.

Have to wonder with Lane out if we wouldnt be better off putting Cam at RG and sliding Isaac to RT
