This conference call reeks of PR spin. We all saw the players on the field warming up after the fact. We saw Diggs trying to rally the team to play. Just stop.

Yeah feels like a bunch of BS the nfl is trying to spin cause they made a gross mistake of trying to get the game played after this tragic incident.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Joe Burrow really is the coldest, ice-in-my-veins QB. He was ready to go after that tragedy after a couple minutes of warming up. Literally nothing phases that guy.

Brought a smile to my face through everything that’s gone down tonight

Dawn Aponte is one of my favorite people in the NFL universe. To me, she’s a Godsend during the NFL draft. After days of overly dramatic, silly, and time wasting announcements, she walks up to the microphone and announces draft picks in a straightforward manner. No frills. No BS. Just a simple, "With the 222nd pick of the 2022 draft, the Houston Texans select Joe Blow, punter, from Baylor” and then walks away. I love her.

All Potential Options, regardless of likelihood:

- Call it a tie.

- Call it a No Contest and use win % to determine seeding.

- Reschedule the game tomorrow or the day after.

- Push the entire schedule back 1 week, have only BUF/CIN play this weekend.

What else?

Call it a win for the Bengals. That has to be an option too.

Also, is it conceivable to push the AFC playoffs back a week? Resume the postponed game during the first week of the playoffs while the NFC is playing their playoff games. And then go from there. The AFC champion only gets one week before the Super Bowl. Highly unlikely and perhaps not ideal or fair, but it could be a solution.

Still the most bizarre thing I’ve ever watched on TV and I was 11 at the time. They had the broadcasters announce the death live on PPV and the event went on without a hitch. Jeff Jarrett, a friend of Owen’s, had the match after the incident and was in tears while in the ring performing. No one knew if it was real or a part of the show.

Does anyone have a link to the ESPN feed of it all going down? I don't want to see the CPR, but I'm curious as to everything else that was going on as it played out. I've only seen clips.

I don't think this game will/should ever be played unless they meet down the line in the playoffs. They cancelled it correctly because of the trauma surrounding it. Telling them to get back together in a week wouldn't make much sense to me.

Call it a no contest and go with win % as you suggested and play the rest of the games according to plan including the Bills at the Patriots and Bengals/Ravens assuming he remains stable. Heaven forbid something happens to him then all bets are all and shutting all the games down should be on the table.

Giving the win to the Bengals because they were up with 5 min left in the first quarter doesn't make much sense to me either.

That's an option. They could also give the entire NFC a BYE week before starting the playoffs. Nothing is really a good option at this point. I hope they just wipe it out and move on.

NO WAY!

They never showed the CPR itself taking place. All video after he went down was shot from a distance and the players were crowded around the whole time so all you ever saw was a crowd of players and the ambulance.

They did show his initial collapse, but nothing after medical personnel got to him.

Thank you.

That's one question answered... with so many more left, some of which may never be.

How does a 24 year old go into cardiac arrest from such an innocuous looking play?  Nothing stands out in that particular play that would indicate this could be a result?  Is there an underlying health issue that was triggered?

Either way, I am looking forward to some miraculous good news this morning about his updated condition and that he's doing fine, is in stable condition and will be getting released from the hospital soon. And I'd love to see a video, posted by him, of him being able to walk out of there on his own some time this week.

I’m no medic, but that has been my thinking. The hit looked like a very routine play, which got me thinking it was an underlying condition waiting to happen. The hit wasn’t the cause, but the mechanism that triggered the on button.

Sounds very similar to the eriksen cardiac arrest.

No underlying conditions, sometimes it just happens.

He's now playing again after having a pacemaker device fitted i beleive

Hopefully Hamlin will have a similar recovery and can continue his career.

I understand Kayvon Thibodeaux was doing snow angels next to his body as medics were trying to revive him.

For all folks who are scared for Sunday's game...

Lest we forget...

Eagles will handle their business on Sunday and carry on into the playoffs.  This has been an uncomfortable bump in the road.  Ya gotta believe... Let's go!!!

Bednarik killing Gifford has nothing to do with this week. Bottom line is Nick should have rested Hurts against Dallas but not the next week against the Saints (number 2 passing defense). Then Hurts could have rested this week giving him a couple of more weeks of rest. Dumb decision made even worse by refusing to run and digging yourself deeper in.

As traumatizing as the turn of events were in last night's game, if a cardiac arrest is going to happen, that might have actually been the best place for it to happen whether it was triggered by the play or not. Athletic trainers, doctors, first responders and an ambulance (and all the equipment that could be needed) all in place for about as immediate a response to this as could happen.  If he goes home, and the arrest happens while he's driving home... or even once he got home... who would have been around that would have known what to do or had the materials to do it so fast?   (Edit:  as the visiting team, the Bills wouldn't have driven home... but having it happen on the airplane home could have been even worse...)

I am hoping and praying that this story could have the same kind of happy ending as Eriksen.

This game has become far less meaningful in the last few hours.

I saw the play again... and he does take a bit of a shoulder into his chest on the play.  So, maybe it was related to the play.

I’m no doctor, but this screams of a previously undiagnosed heart condition…

I wouldn’t call it innocuous

How about making dudes actually wear the mouth pieces instead of looking cool like Diggs and other players do.

That seems simple to help with concussions

It does not help with concussions.
