Why did you assume that I assumed he had an unknown ailment? I was speaking generally. I never even mentioned Hamlin's name in the post.

I know they perform physicals during trades, pre-draft, and FA signings. It's how they caught Dorenbos's heart issue when he was traded to New Orleans. I assume they would do yearly physicals on players, but not 100% sure. JJ Watt was having symptoms of his heart issue so he self reported it to the team medical staff and they referred him to a cardiologist who caught the issue.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Finish the game, and push the playoffs back a week.  If it works out this weekend the game is not needed, so be it.

Finish the game when?

That creates an unfair advantage to all the other teams

I also can’t see the Bills and Bengals getting up to play each other again, unless it’s in the playoffs and a few weeks removed.

Unfortunately for the Bills they had a player almost die. Sometimes life just isn’t fair.

yep. those 2 teams are going to have to have a certain level of understanding and acceptance that they were caught in a sucky situation and no solution will be ideal. Theyll need to accept it and move on.

And whatever it is, should have no impact on the rest of the league. Makes no sense.

It should impact only those 2 teams.

So, make it a tie or no contest. Let them deal with those consequences, and move on.

Just simulate the game on madden and we use the results of the game.

I agree on the Quez  point, and Im still a fan of his. I also sorta take this tradeoff since switching his responsibilities with Smith's has unlocked Smith's potential. BUT, while it works for Smith the new role doesnt suit Quez. They should be using Paschal more if these are the routes Quez is running now.

It's unlikely but feels like they are hoping it all kind of just fixes itself so they don't have to, but will come up with a backup plan if they need to. I think the #1 seed is the big hurdle here. If they can get out of that, I think they just call the game a tie even if it affects seeds 2/3

Just curious. What would happen to the game stats that had accrued prior to stoppage? Do we just pretend it didn’t happen, like with a baseball game that gets rained out before five innings have been completed? I remember Hank Aaron (or maybe it was Willie Mays) hitting a home run against the Phillies that got taken off the books when the game was postponed due to rain.

PS I have no interest whatsoever in fantasy football so my question has nothing to do with that.

Give the Chiefs the bye and the Bills the home game if they meet in the playoffs.

Splits the benefits of the #1 seed.

What if the bills lose first round?

I am sure not having to go to Kansas City in the playoffs will be plenty of motivation.

That would be enormous for us. Hurts plays week 18 and then he, CJGJ, Robert Quinn, Lane Johnson, Josh Sweat don’t have to do anything for 3 weeks

Then they got unlucky.

But I like the idea of splitting the 2 benefits of the #1 seed (HFA and 1st round bye) between the Bills and Chiefs since they did not have the opportunity to earn it outright over each other.

The Bills did earn it when they went into Kansas City and beat the Chiefs earlier this season.

Week 19

Plenty not fair with that approach. For example, if Bills and Chiefs win week 18 that approach would then force the Bengals to play week 19 while their playoff opponent in week 20 was able to rest a week. There just isn’t a fair solution for everyone.

No idea, this is pretty much unchartered territory. Since some players salaries bonuses are tied to stats I'd think they would stand as is?

What, Old and Rich? :smoke:

Luv me sum Ringo, don't misunderstand...Two bent sticks, minimal drum setup, rusty cymbal, bad technique, 50 Million later...

I refer you back to the "Concert for George"...He acquitted himself well...

Lemons into Lemonade...Bless his ole English Heart...

Personally I like the idea of giving the Bills/Bengals a few options (per the NFL and NFLPA) then letting them ultimately choose amongst themselves since they're the teams most directly affected. But ultimately I agree, there's no perfect solution here.

Not really. My friend is going and I know theyre pretty insane. And thats like, barely even a blip on the radar as far as the economical impact. Thats at the individual fan level, which yes, tickets are 3-5 times as much as a regular season ticket, or regular raw ticket. Maybe more. And then you have lodging and travel coniderations.

But then theres the city level where theyll spend 10s of millions of dollars, or more in preparation for such a major event. Its not comparable to a regular season event.

I dont know how you can let 1 person put the kibosh on all of that planning and expense. These are things that are announced years in advance so that cities can begin planning, that far in advance.

It just seems like too much.

Again, I dont know how you ask those players, specifically his teammates to continue playing. But, I think you have to in the case of the super bowl.

Agreed - you make it a tribute to that player , whatever needs to be done - but you lean in and get the game played.

I would think they’d take per game averages to date and add those to all active players in the game for contract bonus purposes. Not for league stats though. They just throw those out I would imagine.

What if the Bengals just forfeit the game and give the Bills the W. What a ballsy and standup move that would be. A Joe Burrow type move!

It could also be possible the Bills/Bengals both said "screw seeding, we aren't playing" and they are fine with not making up the game. It would be an unprecedented move for two teams to think that way but this is also an unprecedented situation.

The Chiefs are also very affected. So are the Ravens.

Nobody tops McCartney and Lennon. That's final. Add George, he counts, too.

Ringo did his part, and we all know the history of his evolution into the Band.

Suffice to say, They all became HOFers as a Group, maybe later as individuals...premise still stands...
