Just determine the winner based on win probability. That’s more important than the scoreboard anyway.

Yeah but nfl and sponsors can make money on betting on the madden simulation.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

That's why I think there will be no firm decision until after the Week 18 dust settles. See where everything lies after the games conclude and take it from there

Don’t see that as even a remote possibility. They might firmly decide to make it variable depending on the week 18 outcomes but they will determine that now. Probably by the end of today and surely worst case tomorrow.

In an ideal world maybe but letting the teams settle the outcome without the league adjudicating the situation could leave a lot of room for foul play. I'm not making this claim for this situation but, imagine the same situation in which 1 team, if awarded a tie gets the bye and #1 seed and the outcome for the other is meaningless. Owner A calls Owner B, offers a side deal for the outcome they want and the latitude given for the teams to decide becomes compromised with self interest.

Goodell's salary is about $64,000,000. He is paid more than enough to put his a$$ on the line and make a decision that is a compromise, no one will be entirely happy, but is in the best interest of the league, overall.

With everything going on with Hamlin right now, no one would be that ballsy or stupid to try and do anything shady right now.

The way I see it, the game has to be accounted for in some way.  Obviously you can't declare a winner and a loser, and you can't just wipe the game off the books.  Pushing everything back is going to be a logistical nightmare between networks, ticket holders, etc.  Besides, how long are you going to postpone the playoffs?  Nobody knows yet how long Hamlin is going to require intensive care, or what the outcome of this will be for him.   Of course the best outcome is he recovers quickly and is able to return to life soon but that's the big question no one knows the answer to.

To me the easiest and most logical solution is to declare the game a tie, and talk about next steps from there.  It's much easier to figure out what to do moving forward once you have the game itself decided on and accounted for.

I wish they would just play a 2 point conversion shootout. First to 5 wins, each team gets the same number of possessions.

Perfect? No.
Allows the schedule to continue? Yes.
Would this draw big ratings? Absolutely.

The NFL has no creativity though

I think they'll have several plans in place but not sure they will make it public. Even their wording today was simply "Bills/Bengals isn't happening this week. Rest of week 18 is on schedule".

Pushing everything back a week seems like the best solution

Both teams get a win

Oh, ok?  I guess that's gonna move the needle.  Should we do the same here?

I was gonna go with captain tuddy

I can’t really think of an option that doesn’t directly affect at least one other team. For example, a tie would give the Bengals the division title and that would directly affect the Ravens.

In the end of the day, the league will aim for the least amount of disruption combined with the greatest level of fairness reasonably attainable for all teams. Far as I can tell that means just going with cancelling the game.

Which impacts the Chiefs, Bills, Bengals and Ravens seeding.

Seeding is going to be affected no matter what the decision is.  Unless Bills/Bengals decide they're going to play it out, there's no clean answer that doesn't leave someone muddy.  At best, a tie is the option that has the least amount of mud involved.

Unprecedented waters for sure but it is what it is.

Shhh .... Commanders next PR campaign will be for Tuddy and that faceless, formless #21 jersey they dedicated to Sean Taylor's family to have a foot race every home game at halftime, like that Presidents' race the Nationals have.

I’m thinking they went public with what they had at the moment and I fully expect the rest as soon as they have everyone aligned.

With our injuries we’d benefit for sure.

Count me in.

Yep, again there is no perfectly fair solution.

Just have every team select one representative and have a Royal Rumble.

Davis? Mailata? Covey? Suh?

One of them can win it all.

I first read that as Captain Tuggy, and wondered if that was a new nickname for Deshaun Watson.

Stop giving Acho a microphone

Just have McDermott and Taylor play RPS, best of 5.

He does have a point.  He got Daniel Jones into the playoffs.

He’s a complete moron.  He makes Steve Smith Sr. and Booger seem smart.

Oh I know, but, its not like his point is that far off base.  Anyone who can get Daniel Jones into the playoffs deserves some kind of award.

Rex Grossman was the QB for the Bears that made the SB.

Shanahan may have closed the gap on Sirianni. It’s close, both deserve it.

Name two WRs or TE on the Giants. He maybe an idiot but he isn't off base

Than it should be Shanahan winning since he's in contention for the #1 seed with Brock Purdy.

And Acho's general point of "the Eagles have better players than the Giants" is just stupid. The players are better, in part, due to coaching.

Sure seems like
