I hadn’t looked at the Raiders team stats this season until now — Holy Crap!  I saw Jacobs with 1,539 rushing yards and Adams with 1,290 receiving yards and asked myself ‘how is Carr having such a pedestrian year?’  60.8 pct, 24 TD to 14 INT.  Then I looked more closely:

After Jacobs 1,539 yards the next highest RB is 16 carries for 66 yards.  For the season.  WTF??

After Adams 1,290 receiving yards the next target is Mack Hollins.  Mack Hollins.  WTF??

McDaniels is running that offense like he thinks it’s 1978.

Once again, my premise is simply that the Injury Reporting System has wiggle room and Nick may be learning to use it to our advantage.

Look at what those 2 WRs are doing this year.

Smith as the only real WR target last year couldnt compile stats with Hurts as his QB.

Now, Hurts is conducting an offense that can feed two elite WR seasons.

It speaks to the strides Hurts has taken as a QB this year.

 

I also think Hurts is just good enough to look elite in this offense. I am now excited for him to potentially take the next step and actually become elite. And then what will this offense be capable of?

AJ being the first Eagle receiver to eclipse 1,000 yards since Maclin in 2014 sounded insane to me. In this day and age of football to go almost ten years between that is very hard to do. And this team won a Super Bowl in between.

But they’ll both be top 5, as long as they’re both healthy. With the extra game, it’s pretty likely at least one will break the franchise record.
