So how about this. The NFL plays week 18. If the Chiefs and Bengals win, the Bengals would have no shot at the #1 seed. If that were to happen, maybe they offer to forfeit the game, because they'd only be losing the difference between the 2 and 3 seed in the standings, as the Bills would lose a lot more if they were to forfeit. The difference between 1 and 3 for the Bills is significantly greater than the difference between 2 and 3 for the Bengals. And if the game was just outright cancelled, you'd have two teams bearing the weight of that decision in the standings, in this case it would only be one, and it wouldn't be that drastic.

Not sure if the Bengals would offer to do that out of respect to the Bills. But overall, that solution would offer the least amount of overall NFL significance with the game not being played. But again, don't known if the Bengals would do that.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I didn't realize how many specialists they had either... and they literally have an airway management specialist at every game?   I didn't know there was such a specialty.  🤯

I hope they ish-can Skip Brainless but it probably won't happen. It wouldn't surprise me if that show has their highest ratings by far so there's no way they'd get rid of him

Yup.   Skip is ridiculous, but last night... his tweet was one of the least obnoxious things he's said.  Maybe he didn't say it well, but it wasn't as bad as they are saying.

Especially because like a half hour or so prior he mentioned praying for Hamlin and his family. He's getting blasted and literally said nothing.

I know it's a tense subject, but you can tell who can't read/interpret and who let's their emotions control them

Get rid of him for what? Being a troll? He's paid to do it.

You don’t think they’ll pay Daniel Jones $45M?

I've heard a few sportscasters in the past days talking about what the Giants should do with Jones.  When they declined to pick up his 5th year option this became a make-or-break season for him.  He's shown improvement, but mostly in the context of giving the ball away less.  I don't think he's shown improvement in making the offense better.

The biggest difference in his performance is that he's running more.  A running QB has a higher floor because if their passing skills stagnate at least they can move the chains with their legs -- see Justin Fields.  Has Fields really improved as a passer this season ... or are the Bears just allowing him to run more?

The Giants have been paying Jones $6.5M AAV on his rookie deal.  Who is the last starting NFL QB to sign a contract extension at less than $40M per season?  You'd have to go back at least 4-5 years, and the NFLPA has no interest in rolling back the market value for a starting QB.  I think $40M will be the minimum price tag for the Giants; could be higher.

I hope the Giants give Daniel Jones a lucrative extension.  My guess is they sign a bridge QB from the scrap pile (Mayfield, Mariota, Wentz, Winston, Darnold, etc.) or try to lure Jimmy G with a contract offer.  If they can't sign a Jimmy G, drafting a QB is their logical next step.

I know all of that. It's a shtick. He's a WWE heel. That's his role and he plays it well. I don't even really care why, just get rid of him.

If I'm the Giants I go after Carr. He's not great, but he's infinitely better than Jones and makes them a contender....or at least less of a pretender.

Fair enough lol

I’m not a fan of his, but I can’t deny he’s fantastic at what he does and makes boatloads of money for Fox.

The fact that you want another human being to lose their livelihood for no particular reason shows how good he is at being a contrarian. The Howard Stern effect

Yep. Good on the NFL for being prepared for a lot of different situations.

Are you triggered over what he tweeted last night or do you just hate him, like most people?

The latter.

I would pay Garoppolo 10m$ more than I’d pay Carr. Never been a fan

That leaves off Emergency Medicine physician.  They are present and arguably the most important person in the stadium last night.

That may be the "airway management physician.”

Looks like it’s the liaison. They’re there to provide access to medications

Absolutely ridiculous my goodness.

Let's break this down.

No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game - but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome ... which suddenly seems so irrelevant

1.Skip is saying (in real time during the game while we are all taking this in) that the NFL is considering postponing the game.  OK, true statement.  We were all having the exact same discussion on here.  Twitter was having the same discussion. Shefter, Aikman, Suzy, Booger and Buck were having the same discussion.  Skip was saying the same thing everyone else was.

2.He then states that the outcome of the Bills/Bengals has huge implications...which it 100% had/has.  His big mistake and what he's being crucified is asking how, with those implications could the game get cancelled.  Below are the playoff scenarios before MNF kickoff.  The outcome 100% has implications for 3 teams going after the #1 seed.

No. 1 seed (bye + home-field advantage)

Chiefs clinch with any of the following:

Win + 1 Bills loss

2 Bills losses + Bengals loss

Bills clinch with any of the following:

2 wins

Win at Bengals + Chiefs loss

Win vs. Patriots + Chiefs and Bengals lose in Week 18

Bengals clinch with any of the following:

2 wins + Chiefs loss

3.Skip then ends his tweet by saying everything he just asked about is  IRRELEVANT.  None of it matters given then light of the situation and the health of Damar Hamlin being #1 the only thing that matters.  Everything else is irrelevant.

I hate Skip Bayless.  I really do.  However, the reaction to this is unbelievable.  Do people not understand context?  Can they not read and comprehend the actual words?  Do they even read full tweets?  Do they read the full tweet and ignore the parts that don't support their hate for a man?  Shannon Sharpe, if you quit over this you're a small man.  You're letting a weasel like Skip defeat you.  Confront him in a civil manner and explain what you didn't like.  Read the tweet again and say OK, now that my head is clear I see what your point is.  Shannon Sharpe is somehow making Damar Hamlin's life threatening injury about HIMSELF.  He's no better than Skip Bayless.

Virtue signaling woke babies. When the EMB is defending him you know it's BS.

Just heard a report on NFL Radio saying Hamlin is getting 50% oxygen from the ventilator now, where last night the ventilator was supplying 100% oxygen — so hopefully at least some positive indicators

MD question: is this normal progress due to sedation?

Can anyone translate that into good news, but guarded... really good news.... or great news?
