This is what it boils down to, and since he has a reputation for saying and tweeting absolutely moronic things and being an overall POS he didn't get the benefit of the doubt.

In this day and age no one is reading through the whole tweet if you start it with something so terribly worded that it sounds like you're bamboozled that the NFL would even consider postponing a game with playoff implications

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Yes.  He has no restraint and he, generally, has no filter other than to stir the pot.  That's his schtick.   In that moment, I think he acted too quickly.  I think he posted with an agenda, to have a take and that take would generate eyeballs.   And he did that.   But his words themselves, while poorly chosen, not well organized and a little bit insensitive perhaps in that moment... was completely accurate.   But there's a bevy of people circling him like sharks waiting for something they can pounce on.

Don’t downplay the value of rookie scale for four years and a fifth year option as we stare signing Hurts to an extension in the face.

Hurts doesn't have a 5th year option.   That is for first round picks only.

Jared Verse, DE, Florida State

The Eagles rely on strength in the trenches, and with Javon Hargrave, Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Robert Quinn, Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph all scheduled to become unrestricted free agents, they will need help on defense. Verse is primarily a 5-technique, so he wouldn't be a true fix for the team's biggest need of a defensive tackle alongside Jordan Davis, but his combination of powerful hands, first-step explosion and finishing ability would help keep the NFL's best pass-rush unit strong amid the potential losses. Verse picked up nine sacks and 30 pressures this season for the Seminoles.

ESPN has us taking Jared Verse. Got to say, not thrilled about that pick. If the top 5 DL are gone (Anderson, Carter, Wilson, Bresee, Murphy), then I'd rather take a guy like OT Paris Johnson or WR Quentin Johnston over the 6th best D-Lineman.

The Eagles wouldn't spend another first on a WR. I'm thinking they're going DL and OT with their first two picks.

Best available OT or CB at that point

The Broncos, Saints, Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings are tied for the teams with the fewest draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft with five.

Any of these teams have anything you'd be willing to give up a 1st rounder for that you think they might actually be willing to accept (meaning Justin Jefferson would be out).

I haven't followed him much since he got in the league but Jaycee Horn from the Panthers could be tempting.

Everyone is picking on Scott and deservedly so but White has been pretty bad the last few weeks, and is supposed to be a starter. He’s been giving up about a 115 passer rating when targeted.

White has been terrible and has also been getting the most snaps of any LB, even more than Edwards.  I'm all for working Dean in to see what we have with him.

Ever seen Howard the Duck..? :smoke: Don't.

Howard the Duck is worse than dumb.  It's just creepy as hell.  The 80s brought us love scenes between women and man sized ducks as well as women and robots (Short Circuit).  I'm sure there were plenty other strange instances too.

Sad thing is, I'd watch a bad 80s movie with practical effects over bad modern movies with bad CGI any day of the week.

Missed most of last year with an injury but has been very good this year. He's someone I think they'd be hard pressed to move on from.

He's injured again and the reason the signed Josh Norman from the street for a week or two.

If there are only those two options, I think that I'd rather take a nap... or read a book.    But, failing that... just smoke some ribs.

Just started reading more and really glad I am.  But yes, those 2 options suck.  It takes a lot for me to invest in sitting down to a movie or even a new show.  My co-workers, they talk about new series they watch every week and I just don't understand how people can keep up with how many new shows and such there are.  I'm just sitting there thinking, I had on Seinfeld re-runs last night.

For the Eagle to make moves for veterans, they have to trade down and acquire some mid-round picks.  Unless it's another AJ Brown level player worth a 1st round pick, they really don't have much ammo to trade for veterans.

Anyone having the Eagles picking wr  with the first two picks, doesn't know Howie. He already has his 2 top WR's he will be picking OL and DL, and maybe a QB since Hurts- got Hurt. (QB Factory)

Not to mention we likely are one and done in the playoffs

Who told you, Kliff Kingsbury?

Have a friend who worked as a cardinals beat for a few years. Now he works suns and dbacks. Something he was told. Figured I’d pass it along.

Here's the tricky thing with this offense...and please don't take it is a sleight on Hurts...they aren't built around dropping back, throwing the ball 30+ times per game to wide open targets.  In that mold, you assemble a quality OL and some reliable pieces in the running game as complements.

The Eagles' offense is built around a weaponized OL.  You've got RPO's relying on OL with rare mobility neutralizing guys at the second level.  You are relying on hyper-elite run blocking from both the LT and the RT.

This offense just isn't going to dominate the way it has this year if the replacements for Lane and Kelce are merely good to very good OL.  We are built to rely on all-pro's there.

If you are the Chiefs or Bills, you just want a quality OL to set a clean pocket so the pass attack can do the rest.  But that's not how this offense is run.

Mailata and Kelce may have been late picks, Dickerson only a 2...but if you want to keep this going, I think they really need to add a high end first round talent to the right side of the OL.

Dallas finishing the year with the Titans (Dobbs) and Commanders (Howell) means we have to win. No excuses boys.

It’s too bad that reporter had to tip off Rivera that they were getting eliminated from the playoffs with a Packers win over Minnesota. He probably would still be oblivious.

This feels where we're heading.

That might be the dumbest f'ing thing Ive ever heard.

Best idea Ive heard so far:

All week 18 games played as scheduled.

Let NFC playoffs continue as planned, and AFC playoffs get pushed back a week.

Next weekend would be NFC wildcard round and Bill-Bengals.  AFCCG is played the week before the SB.
