That might be the dumbest f'ing thing Ive ever heard.

Best idea Ive heard so far:

All week 18 games played as scheduled.

Let NFC playoffs continue as planned, and AFC playoffs get pushed back a week.

Next weekend would be NFC wildcard round and Bill-Bengals.  AFCCG is played the week before the SB.

thats dumb.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Yes, its the most fair idea Ive heard, there are too many postseason positions affected if they just straight up cancel the game.

They must play it, and the above scenario seems most fair to me and reduces impact to the most teams

Youre dumb

You take away the bye for whichever AFC team wins the conference, before the super bowl.

That could potentially be the Bills, or the Bengals. But it could be the Chiefs. And why should they have no bye before the super bowl when the NFC team gets one?

I dont think you could have thought of anything less fair than that.

Whichever imperfect solution is chosen should minimize damage to the teams involved. Not others. As much as possible. And the damage should be done right up front so that teams can get past it. And no one is put at a disadvantage right before the superbowl.

You dont prolong the harm done for all those additional weeks, and potentially pass this burden to some other team like the Chiefs for no good reason.

What a ridiculously stupid idea.

Into the peyote again eh?

As I said before -- any revision to the schedule will be determined along with the NFLPA and players.  As soon as blowback comes (for whatever decision is made) people will blame Goodell and the league, and the PA will wash their hands of blame.

Understand they give up a bye week but no matter how you slice it, someone loses something.  This keeps the changes to a minimum, allows all games to be played, and avoids delaying the entire league because of one game.

Go ahead and come up with an alternative scenario, and Ill tell you why its less fair than what I posted.

Theres no other way to do it unless you have one weekend with one single game (which means every team gets another bye except Bengals/Bills) or delay the entire league year (also means NFC winner might have two byes during the playoffs which is just asinine)

Thats not even a possibility. Thats a false dilemma argument.

Call it a no contest. Now, right away everyone knows the seeding right up front. Games are all played on schedule. And this is put in the past as quickly as possible with minimal damage done. No one loses any byes in the post season. NFL cities dont take on any additional burden. Fans dont take on any burden of having to sell tickets or losing money, changing or cancelling travel plans and possibly losing that money, etc.

Then week before the Super Bowl is a really big media week for the NFL. They can’t just cancel that stuff when partnerships are in place.

How is that fair to the Bills who will likely lose the #1 seed and bye in your scenario, when they already beat KC in KC to earn that seed?  Or the Bengals who still have a chance to win the #1 seed as well?

You seem to be prioritizing the lack of a bye over letting the teams actually determine seeding on the field.

How you thought your idea was more fair than mine is beyond me.

I'm sure the Bills fans would definitely prefer to reshuffle their schedule rather than giving up the #1 seed to KC and having to go back out there for a rematch of last year, after their team already got revenge and earned that victory?

In summary, your idea is nonsense

Nope, you just havent thought it through yet.

Would you like me to check back with you later, or do you want to lay out your own dumb idea so I can poke holes in it?

Whats more important, meaningless interviews and a flag football game, or actually having fair results on the field determine seeding?

Put yourself in a Bills or Bengals' fans shoes. None of your ideas make any sense in terms of actual football results and fair play

ryan clark is another big mouth on espn,  when you get them all together its all a bunch of endless loud nothing, its like I can be loud, not make any sense, theyll hire me at espn
