A bye or homefield? Isn’t a bye week equivalent to a " playoff win”?  Why would anyone pick homefield over a bye week? 
 

An extra game you could potentially lose and/or have additional injuries?  Nope. 

Wherever they go with this they really should get it done today.  Teams need some time to decide who they set things up for the games this weekend and those are now just around the corner.

Take a moment and read back what you posted.

I am more interested in the timing of the decision. Do they wait until the results of this weekend? It seems the sooner the better to get everything at least rolling forward.

Agreed- I think the whole of the NFL- teams, players, Owners, Goodell etc.. where all waiting to hear, hoping to hear positive news on Hamlin,  before pushing on....

I get that,  it seems like the right thing to do. I do believe they know what they are going to do, it's already been decided, and honestly I would bet it was already dessiminated to the teams under the strict orders of not to leak it out.  The players probably dont know, but I would guess that ownership and possibly GM's coaches know?

They should vote by who's significant other is the least annoying and make the Chiefs the 7 seed.

Yeah, they certainly weren't going to rush out there the 1st day.  They needed to give it some time.  However, now the other side of the equation is driving the timing and they need to get an answer out there.

The most just way of figuring out this year’s Super Bowl still comes down to updating techmo Super Bowl with the rosters and computer simulating it. As an added bonus we get the jalen Hurts return from injury

I don't know how Freeney would go in over Ware or Allen.  Both Allen and Ware have better sack numbers by double digits.  I think Thomas should definitely get consideration as a 1st ballot HOF candidate.  He probably benefits by being the only good player with any kind consistency for a historically bad franchise over the last 2 decades.
