Thats pathetic.  And now with a 17 game season, and even with AJ Brown, we still wont.  Brown has 80 right now.

No way he catches 20 balls  in the next 2 games.

The good news if he does, if bacarty returns he gets another month off for our board bet.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I think the word talent makes this quote tricky. Talent wise, I agree, Wentz has more TALENT.  They guy has a cannon and he's still pretty mobile for a 6-5, 240 lb QB.  Not what he was pre torn ACL but he can still get around.   What he lacks is pocket presence, decision making and the intangibles that Hurts seemingly brings to the table.

Jay Cutler syndrome.

I don't know, maybe I'm just stuck in the past and how things used to/should be done, but Derek Carr stepping away after being benched is a terrible way to handle a situation.  Don't care if it was a mutual agreement.  Sets a terrible example for young kids IMO.  What happened to getting benched and taking it like a man?  Probably can't say take it like a man anymore either. Lose your starting job with dignity sound better? They say they don't want to cause a distraction but that's a weak excuse.

What are young kids learning today?   If you go to college and can't win a position....just transfer.  If you can't win a job at the new school...transfer again.  If you get benched in the NFL, walk away from the team.  No need to be there to help the young QB getting reps and teach based off of what you've learned over your career and during this season.  I lost my job but I'm still making tens of millions, I need to take time for myself.  Who cares about the team.

Probably an overreaction on my part, but I just think this is a very bad look and it's not just Derek Carr, it's sports in general.

So I'm 60 and if tomorrow they come in and replace me with someone else I'm out............ I'll go somewhere and share my knowledge with a "team" that wants me to be there.

After the conversation about the WR catch record, I went and did the research.  The Eagles are one of two franchises without a WR with 100 catches in a season.

At least Ertz holds the record for catches in a season by a TE lol

They say it was a mutual decision, but it was a team decision.  Even if he is hurt practicing, his salary next year becomes fully guaranteed and the Raiders are stuck with him.

Don't be fooled by what the media says, THE TEAM SENT HIM HOME.

LV and AZ blow their teams up in the offseason

Ummm....Tennessee only has a 96? So 3 teams?

I wonder which team has the most seasons with a WR catching 100 passes. My guess would be the Colts or Packers

Vikes maybe? CC, Moss, Thielen, Diggs, JJ.

During the Manning era, Harrison and Wayne were catching 100 passes almost every year it seemed like

We aren't a throwing team.  Never really had an all time great QB as far as throwing the ball.   We've had some great running QBs but no QBs on the elite level.  We've identified more with running the ball and playing defense.   Eagles are 6th all time in franchise total rushing yards.

Oh yeah, missed that one when I was done.  Does that really make it that much better ??

Edited to add The Titans single season leader is Derrick Mason with 96, I bet you could not even come close to guessing ( without google ) their second WR with 94 catches in 2013.

That's still pretty bad all things considered. At least with 17 games (and maybe 18 soon), we should eventually get there

No, no it does not. Also, I think the old Oilers did have 100 catch seasons, so....

See my edit to that post.

Yep, I missed Charley Hennigan and Haywood Jeffries as the are listed with Houston, so I skipped passed after I had the Hopkins season record.

It is confusing when looking up the whole list as the records count for the Titans, but lists the team as HOU.

Why would you say it's pathetic?

Unless I'm mistaken, here is a list of the teams with a 100+ catch WR who have never won a Super Bowl:

BUF, CIN, HOU, JAX, LAC, DET, MIN, ATL, CAR, ARI

Also on the list of teams with a 100+ catch WR:

Miami -- no Super Bowls since 1973

NY Jets -- no Super Bowls since 1968

Dallas -- no Super Bowls since 1995

Raiders -- no Super Bowls since 1983

Washington -- no Super Bowls since 1991

Chicago -- no Super Bowls since 1985

San Francisco -- no Super Bowls since 1994

Perhaps this "having a WR get 100+ catches" doesn't actually mean anything in a team sport.

There are 138 players with over 100. Don't feel like doing the leg work to see who has the most but if anyone wants to have at it.

From an early glance it seems like a tie between HOU and DEN with 10 seasons each.

2013 was post-Fisher, post-Vince Young, pre-Mariota.

QB would have been at least decent to get a WR to 94, so it probably wasn’t Locker or that one guy with a longer name who went to the jets after they replaced him with Locker. I’m guessing it was either that guy or Locker to start the season but they only started 7-9 games.

WR then could have been… was it the guy who burned us during the chip Kelly era? I remember we played a game in Tennessee where there was this WR who had like 200 yards and stole a game we should have won easily. His name I can’t quite recall… it was like Davante Parker before Davante Parker.

I think we were even rumored to want to trade for him. Is that the guy? Or is it something silly like 38 year old Derrick mason came back after playing for the ravens and had a 94 catch season? That seems like a memory that might have happened

Denver with 10.  Followed by the Colts, Cardinals, and Steelers with 9.

Edited:  I originally had the Oilers and Titans combined for Houston.

I agree with you. Over the past thirty years, the Eagles have been one of the winningest teams in the entire league. Why does it matter if their leading receiver catches a certain number of balls?

14 of the 32 did not make the playoffs.  That means 18 did make the playoffs.

2 super bowl champions

3 lost in the conference championship

3 lost in the divisional round

9 lost in the wild card round

Vikings are still TBD

Yup.

Since 2000, we have 6 NFCCG appearances, 1 SB win, 1 SB loss, 9 NFCE crowns and 14 playoff appearances. We've also tied for 4th in total playoff wins.
Note: 2022 stats not counted.
