This is a pretty common sentiment and I don’t understand it.  First of all, football is a rough game.  But, statistically, they aren’t risking their lives much more than many other jobs that are considered safe.  Secondly, believe me, they aren’t doing it so that we can enjoy football.

They are doing it because it puts food on the table and provides a lifestyle that would otherwise not be possible.  It’s not some act of heroism for you and I so that we can enjoy our Sundays.

It's a tough call.  I think Doug is probably the best athlete out of the coaches but I wouldn't be surprised if Reid couldn't punt the ball the farthest.

They should honestly just have a big game of Madden to figure out the tie breakers.  They can select the field and put the expected temperature.  Here is the kicker

There will be 5 people per team

Offensive Coordinator selects the offensive plays
Defensive Coordinator selects the defensive plays
QB is the one that has to play when team is on offense
Either MLB or Defensive captain plays when team is on defense
Coach is there for game management/time outs

Yeah, regardless of it being an innocent play, causing the possible death of someone had to be unreal.
