Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

It doesn't seem like the rest of us need to be here for this

It is 100% a rare situation and I'm not being critical of their decision to honor him, just the way they are going about it.  Just seems obscenely large for a guy who gave them a pep talk today.

50+ people were gun downed in LV, quarter sized sticker on the back of the helmet.  Just for comparison of another situation.

Same thing with UVA.  Very small helmet sticker for 3 players who were murdered this year.  I can show a lot of examples of much much smaller memorials for people who have passed away.

I get what you're saying but they're all different situations and all handled differently.  Who knows, if he had played for Washington and this happened, a D-bag owner like Dan Snyder might not have done anything.

I think part of it is they want to show love and support for Hamlin.  But they also want to use this as extra motivation for a SB run.

Hey! Mr Snyder would put up a nice mannequin on display off to the side of the concourse!

Is there a sub forum on this site for swinging? Asking for a friend.

There's got to be a Robert's Rules book on this somewhere online, amirite?

they actually "fixed it"  Still have no idea what they are thinking with the wire thing and no head in the helmet.

What would be even better than any silly patch.  Have Hamlin live video chat the entire stadium on the score board before kickoff.  He could thank everyone for the prayers, donations and whatnot ended by Go Bills.

Running back is pretty much a four year position now from a contract/salary cap standpoint unless if you’re taking a guy in the top half of the first round, which this team should not. So a guy’s workload in college shouldn’t really be a concern. Howie will never shell out big money in a second contract for a running back. It’s pretty much what they’ve done with Sanders since he was drafted and he’ll be gone after this season. It sounds harsh, but teams will have no problem running an RB into the ground on his rookie deal and then opt to replace him after four/five years for another guy when they hit 26-27.

Sanders is an exception because he wasn't beat to death in college or even his first few years here. He is just reaching his potential this year. Looks much better in pass pro, is stronger and more explosive after a few years in an NFL program.

Without injury, Sanders will be at his best the next 3 years. But this team doesn't seem to trust him, though they don't seem to trust any running back because they are, or at least want to be, a passing team that too often ignores the running back.

I do want him back, but if you're not going to use him, then let him go because he's going to get a pretty good contract and we may as well use that money elsewhere.

I agree, even if we lose Sanders, I'm not taking a RB in round 1. Never been a fan of that really. I'm actually hesitant to even do it in round 2 this year considering they need more on defense. But if the top back falls into round 2, Robinson, I'd definitely be pressed to go that route.

But more realistically, round 3 for a guy like Evans or Charbonnet would be where I start to look at taking a replacement. I like Gibbs but he's probably a late round 1 or 2 guy.

The full list of love and support:

-The Bills will debut a jersey patch featuring Hamlin’s uniform number, 3, for this Sunday’s game against the Patriots. (Although the announcement didn’t specify whether the patch would be worn beyond this Sunday, it seems highly likely that the Bills, who have already clinched a playoff spot, will keep wearing the patch in the postseason.)

-Bills sideline personnel will wear "3” pins on Sunday.

-The Bills will outline the "3” in each 30-yard line number in royal blue this Sunday. Other NFL teams have the option to do this as well for Week 18, in either royal blue or red.

-The Bills will wear royal blue "Love for Damar 3” shirts for pregame warm-ups. Other teams will have the option of wearing the same design, but in black.

-Bills personnel will be issued "3” caps for pregame activities.

I bet he’ll be in the owners box for one of the playoff games.

Don't doubt that one bit.  I'm also not trying to sound like negative about it.  I just think, just like my prediction earlier this week, that we were going to be force fed the Hamlin stuff.  I mean the Bills are teetering on post 9/11 level tribute stuff.  Had Hamlin unfortunately passed away on the field or even in the hospital afterwards, I'd be a lot more understanding of all of the tribute stuff...

I think a lot of this came out while he was still in critical condition though or when he still wasn’t breathing on his own. I could be wrong. It makes sense for the NFL community to show him some love the football week after it happened, and then you can pretty much move on.

However, I do think it’s getting a little forced/over the top now especially knowing he’s going to be ok. If he had passed it would have been different. I feel like we’ve also been seeing a good amount of media guys massage their egos a bit over the situation.

I wasn’t even 10 at the time so I was unaware that the NFL made no huddle hurry-up offenses illegal outside the two minute warning less than two hours before kickoff of the AFC title game. That’s insane.

Frankly, I thought Toth was better when he played LG in the 2020 preseason than Opeta. He can be the emergency G after Jurgens, Dillard and Sills, with an activation but if they are that far down you have to think is Opeta worth it.

The only part I don’t get is that the reason for the neutral site of the AFCCG is opportunity lost for all 3 teams, right? This is because Cincinnati very much was still in the hunt for the #1 seed.

Had the Bengals won that Monday night game against Buffalo where they were already leading, they’d have a tiebreaker over Buffalo and the same record. Yet if they meet in the playoffs, Buffalo is the home team regardless of how this weekend goes. How is that fair?

Coaching has been awful going back to the bears game and people are still being chastised for having concerns going into the playoffs.

Playing your worst three games of the season consecutively going into the playoffs isn't a reason for optimism
