I'm wondering how the Bengals being awarded a division title that they hadn't clinched yet is unfair to the Bengals. It sure seems to me like the Bengals got the better end of that part of the resolution.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

The Bengals get screwed in a variety of ways, I read it covered somewhere the other day.

True… But it really doesn’t take that long to raise a players draft value.

For instance, if the 49ers were to trade Purdy in the off-season, what would they get for him?

Not much

The hypocrisy of this stuff drives me nuts. If it's bigger than football, it's bigger than football. Don't cry football doesn't matter and then later cry the football outcome isn't fair.

I think it’s more hypocritical to create a rule book that everyone must abide by for 95% of the season and then just change the rules completely.

Agreed, but investing in a 25 year old is a far different affair. Richardson specifically has generational talent. If you coach him up and he looks good in 3-5 starts per year, someone will take the chance.

He has physical traits.

if he were generational talent he would have played alot better. Not a remarkable prospect

While this is technically true, if the Ravens/Bengals get to the coin flip that Ravens somehow win, do they actually win the division? It’s no different than just being a wild card team.

Another pancake block called a hold

Life’s not fair. Who cares. Your sportsball game is a stupid game

His physical traits are remarkable. Size, speed, and a cannon for an arm. Not too many guys with his combo.

Damn, Kansas City, chill 🤣

Yes, because they would still be the 3 seed if they win and would be able to host a championship game if the 1 and 2 seeds lose.

The Bengals walked off the field and decided to not continue their game. Where exactly is that allowed in the rule book?

24-3

Yeah I’m gonna pass in this game

The Raiders O-Line is so bad. Then when the QB actually has time, he’s gun shy and can’t believe it. Maybe Carr wasn’t the problem.

Yes.  The scattering of the photons to me isn't the same at all as transmission by absorption and reemission, nor by absorbing some wavelengths while reflecting others, as a 'blue shirt' does.

Reference:  I teach this for a living.

Reference: So do I and I don't really know how to comment on the fact that you do and would argue about this because it isn't "the same" to you.

It is all absorption and reemission. Reflecting is reemission, index of refraction is reemission. What changes are the underlying physics associated with the energy of the photon. The scattering of photons is a different mechanism -- dipole vibration -- but it is still an absorption of energy in the form of radiation and the reemission of energy in the form of radiation.

" while reflecting others, as a 'blue shirt' does.  " There is no reflecting. It is all absorption and reemission. The shirt is blue because of an allowable energy transition in an element that is in the material of the shirt.

A mirror "reflects" all light because the metal with which the photons are interacting have an overlapping orbital structure that allows for the reemission of all photon energies. The photons are absorbed and reemitted. We call it reflection but that's not the physics

That’s a lot of moving parts. They would have to win on the road, then beat the #2 seed on the road, and hope the #1 seed is one and done in the playoffs. I don’t think that’s great odds for them or likely. Point of winning the division is you are guaranteed a home playoff game, which they probably won’t get.

I personally don’t care that much but I think they have a reason to be upset.

I just love debates about physics.

I think we have had a miscommunication of sorts. When you asked would they still be the 3 seed, I was referring to the Bengals. I think you might have been asking about the Ravens.

Tomorrow should be Webb against Minshew. If we’re losing in the second half, maybe let Hurts play. But we should win this game regardless. I don’t want to play any starters coming back from injury. We saw how that worked with Maddox. Why risk it? The first round bye and HFE is important, but what good does it do if we’re playing backups. 2017 was awesome, but not a recipe for success

According to the NFL, the NFL suspended the game, never considered restarting and never told teams they had 5 mins to warm up. What are the Bengals supposed to do?

Can’t lose to Davis Webb. We won’t lose to Davis Webb. Can’t lose to Davis Webb

Would probably rank as one of the worst losses this team has had in the past 25 years if that happens, to lose home field to Webb. Super Bowl 39, Cardinals NFC title game, and Bucs NFC title game up there.

If you thought debates about religion or politics could get ugly, you’ve never seen physicists argue.

Pure blood sport!

I understood, I may not have worded it the best. I meant to say, yes the Bengals were awarded the division and the #3 seed. But if the Ravens win, Chargers win and the Ravens win the coin toss, the wild card playoff game is played against the Bengals in Baltimore. So essentially it would be like if the Ravens were actually the #3 seed and Bengals #6, which makes the Bengals being awarded the division meaningless. If Bengals win that playoff game then the Bengals go on to play the #1 or #2 seed on the road again. The only benefit would be if they can survive longer than #1 and #2 seed before the AFCCG.

I could buy the argument that the Bengals should just win tomorrow and make it all a moot point though. Either way someone was going to get screwed one way or the other. I would have just left the rules in place as is.
