While we are at it, have to throw a bone at John Facenda.  Even though he wasn't a commentator of live games, he was a Philly dude and still a historic voice for the NFL.

Personal side note: I went to high school with his niece and nephew.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

He still is the voice of the NFL to me.

Eagles starters 23, Giants backups 20.  Goes down to the last couple plays.

Yes, he is and might always be

That's a sad outcome - despite the W.

Just get a W. Style points don't matter, when the bye week allows you to reset.

Apparently the Giants are giving us a late Christmas gift?

You have to wonder, does the new generation of football/NFL fan know who he is or understand the actual history of the NFL?  Many of us either grew up in the merger era of the NFL or in the 80s narrated by Facenda, Sabol and even Harry Kalas.  Saturday morning family friendly football shows, not debate shows, fantasy/betting line shows or anything else pumped out today.  We had football follies, NFL Rocks, NFL Year Reviews and so on.  It helped not only keep current, but really gave you an appreciation for where the game came from.  I've never watched Dick Night Train Lane play a down of football but I can tell you he still has the single season record for INT and also was feared for a clothes line tackle.  Alan Paige ran the wrong way.  The 70s Raiders has more stickum on their socks than any teenage boy.  Just things we would learn from those old NFL Films productions.

My nephew is 13 and he plays some of the PS2 Madden games and talks about guys he plays with...but then I show him highlights and he asks, who's that.  Really wish the NFL had an NFL Films Historical channel available.

Do we dare start Minshew against NY practice squad?

I don't.

I'm hoping Hurts can run up the score early then sit him.

That works for me, but you can just feel, that this game will be harder than it needs to be. Similar to the Raiders Xmas game. A win, but one that doesn't leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling.

I just want the win at this point. And as others indicated above, we spend the bye-week rebuilding this messing and (hopefully) reintegrating Lane and Avonte.

Also agree with others that a loss today is one of the worst in Philly history and would have me contemplating whether to fire the entire coaching staff for how they’ve handled this last month. It’s a bit dramatic but this has been an epic 💩 show.

I think they have some bad tastes to get out of their mouth on the offensive side of the ball especially.  I would like to see them do that today, regardless of who they’re playing against.

I would be shocked with a firing, but I would think it's fair to truly question this staff. Some have already. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask if the collection of talent simply outplayed the coaching.

First slate of games kind of blows. I have Sunday ticket but I’ll probably just throw on redzone until Eagles game. I’m looking forward to the Lions/Packers game tonight

Firing seems a bit extreme after one of the most historic seasons we’ve experienced as Eagles fans, but it would be fair to question them going forward if they lose today & especially if lose badly in the wildcard.

I miss those.  The stupid debate shows don't bring new fans in.

There's a lot of Saints interest.

Saints' loss = 10th overall pick.
Saints Win = Root for New England, Jets & Browns in early slots.

Yea I’ll check in on the game to stay updated, as well as games with playoff implications  but none of the games seem like an entertaining watch.

Official, Davis Webb gets the start against us. The situation and that last name is giving me scary memories

It was Marshall, not Page.

If they can’t win today they don’t deserve a home game, or probably to even be in the playoffs

HE'S BACK........Well Birds Fans, here we are.  Season Finale.  It's been a fun and amazing Season.  I couldn't be more proud of the Guys.  But there is more to do.   After 13-1 start, we find our Guys in a small 2 game slump.   Luckily they were so ahead of everyone else, they are still in the #1 Seed of the entire Conference.   But there's one more win to get.   This Historic Win will grant the Eagles the NFC BEAST TITLE, THE #1 SEED and MOST WINS IN EAGLES HISTORY.   Now as everyone knows, I have picked the Birds to win every single game.   That's not going to stop now.   GMen are coming into Town.  This time they've made the Playoffs for the first time in 6 Years.   They are locked into the 6th SEED so they are using this game as a defacto-Bye before the playoffs.

All the main starters will probably be out.   Including Danny Dimes and Seqaon.   Davis Webb is rumored to get the start.   (Funny how the tables turn on the final week, lol).  I don't blame them, they have do what's best for their team and they earned it this year with a playoff berth.   But the Birds need this win.   Let's get back to business.  The last Giants game was a blowout....let's try and do it again.   NFC BEAST Games can be tricky and weird things do occur.   The problem is GMen will have to face an Angry Birds Squad ready to clinch everything.  This Defense is ready to make Sack History.   So after Christmas and New Years didn't go the way we would have liked.   The 2nd week of the year, things change.    BIRDS ROLL TO 14 WINS, NFC BEAST TITLE, #1 SEED AND OFF TO THE PLAYOFFS.

BIRDS - 38

GMEN - 13

Jalen - Rush TD

Miles - Rush TD

AJ - TD

Devonta - TD

Goedert  - TD

Jake - FG

Defense - Multiple Sacks, Multiple Picks, Fumble Recovery

Is it possible for the Packers or Steelers to have a bad season? Both teams looked dead to rights a month ago but here they are in the final week fighting fa playoff spot.
