For the RBs for sure. Not as clear on the WRs but to an extent yes as well.

Nah...

Florida State DE Jared Verse is one to watch tonight. Considered a late first 2nd rounder at this time. Possible pick with our own selection. I like him quite a bit.

Combination of below upper echelon QB play and bad WR's.  It is in no way shape or form because of QB rushing yards.

Not upper echelon traditional QB play no. I agree with that. We’ve had three before Hurts who weren’t traditional QB types though so you need to factor that in when you are looking at the stats.

Looking forward to watching him play tonight. Relentless edge rusher with above average run defense.

Kind of reminds me of another FSU DE

Ok. Still leaves the QB passing yards. Also doesn’t equate to "bad WRs”.

The fact that McNabb's highest rushing yardage season ( 2000 ), he was also 4th in passing attempts should tell you all you need to know.  The Eagles did not have a 1000 yard WR or a 100 catch WR because McNabb had a low completion percentage.

Peyton Manning ( 2000 ) had 2 more completions than McNabb, and had a 100 catch / 1000 yard WR.

Denver ( 2000 ) had ( 2 ) 100 catch / 1000 yard WR's with a combination of Brian Griese and Gus Ferrotte at QB, with the same amount of attempts as McNabb.

Mushin Muhammad ( 2000 ) had a 100 catch / 1000 yard season, with Steve Buerlein at QB who had 36 less passing attempts than McNabb.

What this all tells me, it is not because McNabb replaced passing yards with rushing yards, it is because he was a low completion percentage QB with not very good WR's.

For many years the New Orleans Saints owned the Philadelphia Eagles.  With the exception of wins in forgotten years by forgotten bad Eagles teams in 2007 and 2015 the Saints have owned the Eagles going 7-2 against the Eagles from 2006 to 2019 including three playoff wins over the Eagles (two over Foles).  It wasn't until Jalen Hurts came on board that did he not only realize that the rent wasn't getting paid every day but he also had the courage to decide that he was going to pay it.  Every day.  And he did in that fateful first career start on December 13th 2020 against the New Orleans Saints leading the Eagles to their first win over New Orleans since 2003.  Then he did it again the following year when the Saints came in as the #1 rush defense in the league and Hurts led an attack of 242 yards on them and dropped 40 points on the way to another win.

But now the Saints come to town and Jalen might again not be around to pay the rent.  Instead they will likely again have to depend on a guy who clearly cannot pay the rent every day as seen by both the loss to Dallas last week and the fact that he lives in a van. Now the Eagles are vulnerable when the Saints coming marching in.  They will need voodoo on their side but we have seen crazy things happen in games this season.

Love our matchups V the Ain'ts across the board.

If Kamara doesn't suit up, those guys are in deep doo doo. Taysom can only do so much.

Dalton can't carry that team, he's gonna give it away, eventually. Probably several times.

Their D may hold for a while but they don"t have the Horses to run with our O.

Stache or Hurts, we will own these posers. NFC South? Really? Loss Leaders.

Limit mistakes, no injuries and we come away with a Great position heading into the Playoff Run.

Looking forward to composing a Game Day Prediction.

Good Times for Eagles Football.

Sure it does.

Who is to blame for drafting Freddie Mitchell over Reggie Wayne?  The committee.

Jordan Matthews over Adams?   Committee.

Josh Huff... at all?   Committee.

Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson?  Committee.

The list just goes on and on.

The committee is to blame.  Never one individual, it's a collaborative effort.

Striper Run was on. Wes don't care, he's a Fisherman. Yeah it was chilly but before the really cold stuff got here...

Actually, still running with no Lid or doors at the time. December was mild to begin with this year...

When I was in HS, I used to get into the striper runs.  Loved NJ surf fishing.  Remarkable how terrible I was at it for how often I tried.  I remembered the runs being mostly October and April/May, but I guess you can catch them any time.

Ahh yes the artistic moment we have all been waiting for

You picked one year and I’m thinking 40+ to try to get the bigger picture. Yeah, there were years with crappy WRs. Specifically those early years with McNabb and then again post Super Bowl and before Smith/Brown. One or two others as well. Plenty of other years where we’ve had at least good WR play and on occasion better than that.

As for McNabb, his passing certainly improved once he got some better guys to throw to. He was far better than those other QBs you mentioned except for Manning. Not top echelon but just below.

Yeah we’ve had plenty of misses. Not just WR either.

The strong run begins in late November these days and can carry through New Years Day...

Always find stragglers, early and late. For me, It's as much about getting Wes Beach Time as chasing fun fishing...

You weren't terrible, just unlucky. That's why they call it Fishing and not Catching...:P

I picked McNabbs highest rushing yardage season.  Your argument was they do not have a 100 catch WR due to the history of rushing yards replacing passing.

It really wouldn't be fair to you if I picked his lowest rushing yardage season.

2000, McNabbs highest rushing yardage season, the Eagles ranked 17th in total offense.

So find me a season that the Eagles would have had a 100 catch WR, but didn't due to passing offense being replaced by QB rushing.
