This thread seems to be one of the most used/read threads, so I'm going to post this here.

As I've mentioned, but I don't know how many know/remember, I'm caring for my 86 year old mother. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2019 and has been undergoing chemo ever since. In that time, she's had 4 strokes (2 full strokes and 2 mini-strokes) and a few months ago, fell and broke some bones in her pelvis.

I'm her sole caregiver. So 100% of my time, energy and focus in on her care. I do have time here and there to be on the board, to read/post and to make sure things are running well and that the board hasn't crashed or been hacked or whatever. I can't really moderate post by post, thread by thread, issue by issue but my PM box is open for anyone to PM me. As my time allows I can do whatever I can do. Just understand that I'm not here reading every post or seeing every argument/issue, so I'm kind of 'out of the loop' on a lot of goings on.

Best wishes to you and your mother. And hopefully people here are respectful enough of your situation not to bother you with petty bs that arises from this board.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

For some reason, I can see Wentz in NO. Maybe its just being another ginger QB in NO.

They call you butter?

Because you, sir, are on a roll.

I bet most coaches prefer Denver. Indy and Houston are weird situations. Arizona and Carolina are okay.

The problem with Denver is that they don't have much in the way of draft capital.  The good part is they have a decent roster.  I think Carolina may just keep Wilks.  If they do, they should really go after Reich as the OC.  The problem with Arizona is that you are stuck with a talented but immature QB.  Houston and Indy at least you would have impact on the new QB and other picks.

So Seahawks won and Packers lost, while Bengals won and Ravens lost, making all the unfair talk meaningless.

The real people that got screwed were the friends we made along the way.

Arizona is the worst opening, for sure.  That depends on who comes in as GM and the hope they can't make as many horrific decisions as Keim made.

Thanks, everyone definitely is and it's greatly appreciated. Nobody bothers me and my PM box is open for all issues.

Funny enough, TCU's QB's dad is Jim Duggan.

Just not THAT Jim Duggan.

Losing one coordinator would be "ok", but losing both in the same off-season is really tough. On the bright side, we have possible rookie and veteran replacements available (Reich-Johnson, Fangio-Wilson).

If Steichen leaves, bring Frank back. He's got the Reich stuff.

Cincy still has a gripe, but who cares, I’m basking in all my new friends

Texans are just a mess. Are they the new Browns?

When did the browns stop being the browns for someone else to take over?

They were gifted the division before winning it ... but yeah, poor guys.

That could be an interesting dynamic - The teacher working for his former understudy.

I hope the Bucs and Cowboys beat the hell out of each other.

Missed out on the 2 seed and have to play Buffalo on the road in the playoffs, which should be a barrel full of chimps

Texans can’t even talk right. Get out of here with this list. The Texans might be an all-time bad job considering they’ve fired their last two coaches after one season, and the current GM is the guy who botched both hires.

I get that it’s an NFL head coaching job and there’s only 32 of them in the world so it will always be desirable for someone, but if you’re looking to join an AFC team anytime soon as a coach you better be sure you have a good front office and a current or potential future franchise QB. Because the next 10-15 years in that conference with Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence, and fringe guys like Pickett and Lamar if they continue to get better is not going to be fun to play against. I think the only AFC job I would have my eye on is the Chargers because I think if they lose this weekend Staley is a goner. That will become the best opening hands down.

Texans are casting a wide net. Steichen, Gannon, DeMeco Ryans, Ben Johnson....

Now watch them just hire Josh McCown

Which one?  The actor, the steroid boosted Canadian sprinter, or the basketball coach?

Now that seeding is set, I want to circle back to the AFC vs NFC debate. Seeds are as follows.

1. Chiefs/Eagles

2. Bills/San Francisco

3. Bengals/Vikings

4. Jags/Bucs

5. Chargers/Cowboys

6. Ravens/Giants

7. Dolphins/Seahawks

If we were to pick the better team in each group, IMO it would be:

1. Chiefs

2. Bills

3. Bengals

4. Bucs slightly

5. Cowboys slightly

6. Ravens

7. Dolphins

I could be swayed with the Bucs/Cowboys arguments, but everything else points to AFC being the stronger conference. I'm not saying the NFC has no chance and there is any given Sunday but I think the majority of the time, AFC comes out on top.

The Lions OC.

I hate generic names. Roy Williams was always a pet peeve of mine.

It's like Coca Cola.

Browns are Classic Browns.

Texans are New Browns.

Indy is Diet Browns.

Dolphins are Cherry Browns.

4 coaches in 4 years now.   Woot.   4for4!

Probably because of having the #2 overall pick they are that high. I agree with everything you said about the Texans, but I still think I'd take them over an unstable Owner or being saddled with Mr Limited.

The Texans also have an unstable owner.
