Then that's the risk they assumed when entering. No different than kids entering the draft too early. Forcing them against their will to stay where they don't want to be is worse, if you ask me.

Couldn't you apply the same exact logic?  No one forced them to sign a Letter of Intent.

This is excluding when a coach leaves, which I get.

But both ways youre holding them accountable -- at least by restricting transfers a little bit, the kids will have a program to call home.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Now that’s an interesting discussion.

Dallas is prob best of the bunch (tho if TB beats them this weekend….)

Sea and NYG are a wash.

Jax and Minny vs LAC and Mia is where it gets interesting. I think Minny is really more of a 9-8 type team…so I suppose ultimately yeah, the win over Dallas pushes it slightly to the Eagles. But not by much

I agree it's close - however SF did beat LAC BEFORE Purdy took over.  They have the highest win total of the list for SF

The host cities of those bowls need them for their local economic sustainability.

There are going to be plenty of winners and losers when this thing shakes out.  The bowls are going to be on the side of the losers.

See, that's where the problem is. You seem to think a letter of intent should be a 4-year contract. I disagree.

All this talk of bowls makes me wanna get high. Stupid work getting in the way

I'm not saying he's a bad player by any means, just that I don't think he had a better year than Reddick

I would say he did, and he is doing it with less help up front.

You're ignoring the Chargers didn't have Mike Williams or Keenan Allen against the Niners -- so that could count as a victory over a 5-win team.

No, actually a couple pages ago I proposed a 2 year commitment that is waived if a coach leaves.

To me, thats only fair.  You cant have this yearly mass exodus.

The problem with expansion is really time and the physical nature of football.  I don't think you can expand it to beyond 16 teams.  16 teams would give you 4 games.  I don't think that's necessarily that bad given the size of college football rosters. 16 teams also has been workable for years at the FCS level.

I think having bowl games is fine.  There's a market for it.  I just think they need to get the bowl games out of the Championship series.

i’m on board with 16 👍

Maybe a different scheme too, resulting in the opportunity for more tackles?  I don't know.  I'm looking at those really impactful plays, which Reddick had more of.

We beat Dal without Dak. And the NYG without half their starters.

Wow Toronto Eagle, youre so impressive and funny!  I bet you have so many friends!

Of course, most of them are probably on the internet.  But Im so proud and impressed with how witty you are!

Now, is that the validation you needed?  Can you move on now?

And Dallas started Cooper Rush at QB when we beat them, does that make them a 5 win team ??

Yeah I think Reddick had the better year. More sacks, FF and FR

Which has always been the answer when the fools would try to say that NCAA teams couldn't do a playoff due to exams, or whatever else.  Ironically, every other level of college football has managed that without any issue whatsoever.

The reason that they never did it is because they didn't see it as being as profitable as their current situation.  The NCAA is never going to leave a dollar lay on the ground if they can find a way to pick it up.

But, I don't see a 16 team playoff as 'fixing' the underlying issues.  Just last night we had people complaining about Alabama not being a part of this past game (like we haven't seen Alabama in the championship games enough... they've been a part of the championship game 9 times out of the last 15 years.  We don't need them every time.  Just boring.)    TCU beat Michigan in a playoff... and people still said they didn't belong there.

But the mega-conferences will feast on that... and the rest will be left out in the cold fighting for the scraps.

I liked this post because it was amazing, just like every brilliant post of yours. So impressive, you are.

Thats great....for those 2 schools

And to respond to another one of your posts:. The quality of football was great for 1 team.  The other team looked like a high school team.

That one TD where Bennett and his 2 lead blockers walked into the endzone?  Ive never seen one entire half of a defense completely wiped out and obliterated like that.

Taking your last point first … Georgia clearly had everything aligned and greased and fueled up.  They truly played to their potential.  They also had brain farts.  The one TCU scoring Drive was an example.

Georgia’s game plan was very much like Daboll’s game plan on Sunday … use the aggressiveness of the Defense against itself.  TCU’s D was over pursuing all night, and Georgia’s play action had them going in the wrong direction more often than not. The Giants turned the D-line’s strength into a weakness.  They were so hell bent on getting sacks that they individually and collectively, overpursued.  As a result gap discipline broke down and the Giants’ Offense exploited the gaps just like Georgia did.  That didn’t happen in the First Half on Sunday because the Eagles players felt no urgency.  There was plenty of time to convert those near misses into completed sacks.  However, as the minutes remaining in the game dwindled, the NFL record became loomed much larger.  And the Giants took advantage.

With that said, I do think the 3-3-5 alignment was not a good one to deploy against Georgia.

It isn’t 2 schools.  Hundreds of colleges/universities play a game every week.  Hundreds of US cities host games every week. That is lots and lots of community economic sustainability … and a lot of fun for the folks who go to the games and party after the games.

Crosby also had to play 96% of the snaps, vs 74% for Reddick.

Sure, but just wait a few more years, and you'll see!

It's on the verge of collapse, I say. Complete and total collapse!

UC Davis has over 250,000 living alums.  Add in spouses and children and 40,000 students and over 20,000 faculty and staff. That is a whole lot of people who are happy to have an entertainment opportunity for a Saturday afternoon.
