Robinson would be tempting if there was a run on CBs in the 1st RD.

But then I would also look at DT and S before going RB

Dexter DT Florida

Skinner S Boise State

Battle S Alabama

Yes and no

Some examples of excellent Quez catches from last year.

ABOUT 0:58, coming back in to a defender for an underthrown ball, makes catch through contact.

1:42 dives back in opposite direction and plucks the tipped ball way out away from his body as he is going to the ground.

2:04 hes not in the end zone, but he makes the grab reaching over the defenders back and controls it to the ground. Impressive incompletion.

2:12 Sideline toe drag reception

3:36 come back route along the sideline. Has to go up for the ball. Manages to come down both feet in bounds with a defender right on his back.

4:47 deep ball arrives at same time as defender. Watkins comes down with it with defender on his back.

I didnt pay attention the first time around, but I bet youd find a lot of his highlights came on 3rd downs.

He has definitely flashed good body control, and ability to come down with tough grabs.

I maintain that he has done more of it this year, even in clutch situations. But the fumble, and INTs where he failed to box out stand out in peoples mind.

I still feel he is a Darnell Mooney level player with more opportunity (and proper usage to fit his skill set). Thats a borderline #1, and an excellent #2.

I finally had a chance to really sit down and check these out.  Good stuff.   I would like to see more of these highlights and less of him getting beat up and not fighting for the ball.

Yes.

Youve probably seen the 1st half of season split vs 2nd half of season for Smith bpac posted.

They were using Smith wrong early this season. He was being used as a possession WR getting all short stuff with no RAC opportunities. And Watkins was seldom used at all. If he was, he was a deep ball guy or screen guy. He excels as a deep ball WR. Has had mixed success as a screen guy. Does well in intermediate stuff down field.

They ended up fixing their usage of Smith. He started getting the WR screens, which he is better than Watkins with this year. But he also started getting more down field stuff. On the flip side, Watkisn got the possession WR short suff, and quite frankly sucked at it. Allowed 2 or 3 interceptions in that role by doing a bad job shielding his defender away from the ball.

Watkins in the Doug Gabriel  role in Buffalo is a breakout star as a #2. Watkins in the Mooney role on a bad team is a breakout star as a #1 on a weak team. As such, Watkins is a phenomenal talent as our #3 WR who is actually the 4th or 5th option on offense. IF used on the proper routes. His success cant come at the expense of Smith's. And with Smith successful they cant ask Watkins to do stuff hes not good at.

Coaches have to figure out how to use them both to their strengths simultaneously. OR, replace Watkins with a bigger possession WR in the slot.

But I think people are really wrong when they are down on Watkins as a player.  I think hes really, really good and the coaches are failing him here.

Watkins is not a crisp route runner and is still a basket catcher.  He’s fast but not quick and agile, which is exposed on screens.  I really like his decoy value but he isn’t a number 1 receiver and never will be.  He isn’t really a great #2. Eagles tried that last year.    For some reason, Nick believes in a one on one, he should be able to win with speed on those screens, but he can’t.

I agree with you there. Theres a certain area of the field now where he has shown hes really not effective. Certain routes he should not be running.

But if used right, I believe he could be on par with Maclin in his prime here. He was a great intermediate area WR and solid deep threat even though he didnt bring all of his Mizzou speed to the NFL with him.

Theres a lot more to his game than a lot of eagles fans are giving him credit for.

It depends on the team situation and the RB prospect.  AR was Mr. No 1st round RBs.  Then he did it...and now he regrets that he did.  First and last for him.

Could an otherwise complete team benefit from adding a stud RB...enough to justify a 1st round pick?  Of course.  But those stars have almost never aligned in the last 20 years.

Robinson is really good. I’m not sure he’s special enough to justify though. In the first round I want someone like Westbrook, but better.

They’ve got to be a big play machine, great in the passing game, and also be able to carry the ball 20+ times a game.

In case anyone was wondering…

It would have to be a really good prospect though still, someone like Jonathan Taylor. Imagine if KC grabbed him instead of CEH? They probably got a little too cute with CEH. Taylor was an obvious, can't-miss RB. Either way, you're better off taking a DB or just BPA. There are so many talented RBs to be taken in the middle rounds. It's the easiest plug and play position in football.

The right RB is worth #32.

I don't think he's in that draft for us. There are lots of good mid round options though.

As much as I don't like RBs in the first round, taking one at the end of the first round isn't the worst idea. It's a weird spot in the draft with a lot of reaches and/or misses. If you take a RB there, at least you get the 5th year option. You're just going to have to avoid a holdout once the RB becomes eligible for an extension. It would still have to be a stud RB for me to do it though.

End of the 1st is also no man's land for Howie.

And Daboll put together the Offensive game plan to capitalize on that eagerness. Webb was so focused on getting rid of the ball prior to taking a sack that he threw a lot of interceptable balls.  Unfortunately none of them were intercepted.

I'm glad that's a regular season stat because I don't care for that mindset. They were sack hunting more than playing solid defense. Brandon Graham hitting Taylor Heinicke a couple seconds after the play reeked of sack-chasing. It made us a dumb defense.

I agree 100% with the bolded point.

I would be happy with that.

If Robinson is still on the Board at 31 I would want Howie to trade down and pick Robinson up in the 2nd round.

That is a different question than the one posed, which was whether I would be happy with those two picks. I would be happy, perhaps not happiest, but definitely happy.

Really can’t see the dolphins pulling that upset on the bills with skylar Thompson at Qb as tua is out and i believe bridgewater isn’t playing either. If tua was healthy it would’ve been a worth the shot

also i want to believe the chargers go to Jacksonville and win. But they got smoked at home this year by the jags in week 3. Granted not a homefield advantage for the chargers in LA and that was nearly 16 weeks ago. I feel that game is a toss up even though i think the chargers have a better roster. However the jags do have mr. Explosive JaMycal Hasty

Good morning

In 2021 Trevor Lawrence’s passer rating was 71

In 2022 Trevor Lawrence's passer rating was 95

This is the biggest first-to-second year jump in passer rating for a full time player in NFL history

Shoot.  There is a reality TV program over here where some of the challenges are eating cooked animal appendages (kangaroo P, cows anus, etc); Kelce would be very funny on it but guess he doesn't want 3 weeks in the Aussie jungle...
