If it is half as good as the original, it will be a classic. Don’t know how he tops Moses dropping a tablet.

I hadn’t given Dickerson even a moment’s thought, but thanks to you I will add that scenario to the mix.  I was rather thinking of drafting the best RT prospect and plugging him in as the RG starter from Day One.  That way he would be working hand in glove with Lane, while getting valuable experience as an NFL starter, and delivering solid return for the Draft capital invested in him.  The question is whether there is an appropriately high quality RT prospect in this Draft.

Regarding Dickerson, switching sides of the OL can be challenging.

Andrews was drafted to be the LT heir apparent.  He proved to be a much better Guard than anticipated and the LT vacancy took much longer to open up … as a result he didn’t become an OT until he played for the Giants his final season.

FWIW, I was very impressed with the TCU RG Steve Avila in the Michigan game.  He projects to be a Day 3 pick.

I don't watch enough College football to ID the Real RT prospects, but I bet Stout does, and a bunch of fellas in here, too...

LT replacement delayed because...well, JP didn't want to stop yet. Neither did Lowie, at that point....

Andrews at Guard was the best use of his talents, before he went sideways...Monster middle...

Wish JR was around to put some handles on this wheelbarrow...

It actually wasn’t a joke from me. It was a perfectly timed gif from a hilarious movie.  Stop being so offended.

NFL.com begs to differ with you. https://www.nfl.com/players/shawn-andrews/stats/career

The irony of this post is startling.

Shawn Andrews career was over when he left the Eagles... even though he had a cameo with the Giants.   And each year he was with the Eagles, he was "a Guard".

Yet, your question was, "Was Shawn Andrews ever 'a guard'?"  Yes.  He was a guard for his entire time with the Eagles.  The 'plan' might have been to move him to RT eventually.  It never happened.  He was a guard here.

All you Brits are too serious

The Eagles, especially under AR and Banner, never exactly put future plans into print…but the unspoken word at the time was that Andrews was drafted to replace Runyan, not Tra.  Runyan was declining in pass protection when Andrews was drafted and no one was sure how much time he had left.  He really remained an iron man and held up nicely for a few more years than expected.

Then they found themselves caught without a LT in the post-Tra era after they realized Justice couldn’t handle it and they threw Andrews out there even after they knew he had mental health issues.  From a purely physical and talent perspective, he probably could have handled it.  But I don’t think they ever truly planned on having him as their LT.

How are you a learned doctor with a child and still have time to make all of these great posts at random times that I always agree with?  I have an 18 month old and she snuck into the employee only area of a brewery last Saturday and started ripping all the papers in visible sight.  We lost track of her for 1.5 seconds.

The Eagles offense is in a tricky position with the OL.

I say this a bunch, but this offense is built around weaponizing the OL.  We’ve seen their unique RPO and how many OL downfield penalties they get.  They are pushing downfield on a high percentage of even our passing plays, attacking and punishing the DL, rather than simply kicking back and setting a pocket.

Lane Johnson is the best RT in the NFL (and has terrible availability)…and is on the very short list of best overall linemen in the nfl.  Mailata isn’t really on an elite list due to persistent pass protection issues, but he is a weapon when attacking upfield.  Dickerson…mauling weapon.  And Kelce is the best in the business, especially when neutralizing second level defenders.

The functionality of this offense, however, relies on that.  It’s what blends well with the dual Hurts threat and makes it great.

When you replace Lane with a merely good RT, you’ll have a right side of the OL that can’t punish defenses or open holes in the running game…our whole offense becomes easier to defend.

So while Driscoll hasn’t been good at all, he’s also in an impossible situation.  The offense is built to rely on ferocious play from the bookend tackles.  This isn’t the Chiefs just plugging in a new OL and asking them to keep the pocket clean so that they can lean on 40 passes per game.  That’s an easier ask of a new OL.

We need all pro level play for the offense to click.

My wife is a miracle worker and does most of the difficult childcare.  But your post is the highlight of my week to know these things are normal.  Last month, my then 20 month old ran through customs when re-entering the US at the Newark airport and had 2 border agents descend upon him.  That was about 1.5 second of head turn too.

He’s stupid.  Same if he holds off and doesn’t report for OTAs or TC.  Right now, he’s damaged goods. I understand not taking the risk on his PCL getting worse but it looks a bit questionable to all the Ravens fans in my area and amongst my friends.  (Most people in my part of the state work in Baltimore, including me before retiring.)  The franchise tag for a QB is clearly market value and guaranteed.  If he wants to test the market the next year, he has to show he is not damaged and worth a contract.
