Interesting that players named Slay all-pro, writers named Bradberry.  IMO, Slay was better in the first half of the season and Bradberry was better in the second half (and much better in the last 4 games).

The Eagles offense is in a tricky position with the OL.

I say this a bunch, but this offense is built around weaponizing the OL.  We’ve seen their unique RPO and how many OL downfield penalties they get.  They are pushing downfield on a high percentage of even our passing plays, attacking and punishing the DL, rather than simply kicking back and setting a pocket.

Lane Johnson is the best RT in the NFL (and has terrible availability)…and is on the very short list of best overall linemen in the nfl.  Mailata isn’t really on an elite list due to persistent pass protection issues, but he is a weapon when attacking upfield.  Dickerson…mauling weapon.  And Kelce is the best in the business, especially when neutralizing second level defenders.

The functionality of this offense, however, relies on that.  It’s what blends well with the dual Hurts threat and makes it great.

When you replace Lane with a merely good RT, you’ll have a right side of the OL that can’t punish defenses or open holes in the running game…our whole offense becomes easier to defend.

So while Driscoll hasn’t been good at all, he’s also in an impossible situation.  The offense is built to rely on ferocious play from the bookend tackles.  This isn’t the Chiefs just plugging in a new OL and asking them to keep the pocket clean so that they can lean on 40 passes per game.  That’s an easier ask of a new OL.

We need all pro level play for the offense to click.

Somewhere there's a College Offensive Tackle with bugs in his teeth and a Bad Attitude , just waiting for Stout to find him...

I just have great faith that if even both Kelce and Lane would retire this offseason, the Eagles OL would still be top 5 next season. But yes hope Lane can tolerate the pain he will inevitably endure next week.

While I wouldn't be stunned if the Bucs won, I've watched them all year and I know what I saw while watching them. They're bad. Legitimately bad. They had to scratch and claw to barely win a horrendous division. They can't pass block and they can't run the ball.

Barring Dallas completely flubbing the joint, I don't think the Bucs will win.

And I know Brady is Brady, but even when Brady was in his prime, the Patriots went a decade between SB appearances. He's not god. And now he's 45 years old.

Oh, and Bowles sucks. So not even a coaching advantage vs McCarthy there.

Agree with how bad they’ve been this year…but the Cowboys have been just about as bad when playing on grass.  They’ve only played four games on grass I believe…..Dak has 7 INTs, Parsons just 1.5 sacks, and Pollard runs for 1.3 ypc less than on turf.  Could be nothing, but may be something

Could be a battle of which team wants to suck more

How are you a learned doctor with a child and still have time to make all of these great posts at random times that I always agree with?  I have an 18 month old and she snuck into the employee only area of a brewery last Saturday and started ripping all the papers in visible sight.  We lost track of her for 1.5 seconds.

It has to be similar to my buddy in college who’d just black out and wonder off out of nowhere. We’d seriously be walking down the street and he’d just be gone. The best is when he woke up on some rando’s couch after a Penn state tailgate. Don’t know how he never got arrested.

There’s no doubt they’ll be top 5, but in order for this offense to operate correctly I think they need to be elite with multiple all-pros that can pull and get to the next level.

Agreed. My 18 month old daughter that makes solid eye contact with me when she blows out her diaper is exactly the same as your drunk boyfriend in college that ended up on @olsilverhair’s trailer sofa bed/toilet/kitchen one weekend.

I take my 16 month old to Brewerys all the time.

She has a very discerning palate, saves me from buying the cheap stuff...

Idk potentially losing kelce, seumalo and lane in one offseason if that happens. I like jurgens but asking a lot to replace the shoes that kelce has filled in really his first major nfl action. I like Driscoll but he’s not lane. I think they’d likely go Paris johnson at 10 if lane retired. And you’d still have to find a replacement for seumalo if he left in FA too. I think stoutland is great but even that might be a really tall task to get them back to top 5 losing those 3

Lowie won't leave Stout's cupboard bare, they at least recognize the importance of those positions...

Don't handcuff Jeff, we need him in our corner, waving his Magic Wand and developing rooks into reliable Vets.

Ok, let’s just settle down now, NFL.

Five years ago today on  January 13th, 2018 the eagles beat the falcons in the divisional round of the playoffs. I remember it being a very close and tense game and thankfully the NFC championship game against the vikings was a much easier game.

Those playoffs gave us a bit of everything. A tough 60 minute, grind it out defensive battle. A route that let us relax and enjoy the fact we were Super Bowl bound pretty much the entire 2nd half. And a high scoring 60 minute shootout.

Good times.

I think they’d draft some guys and target some in FA. However lane and kelce retire you can make the case in the SB era that’s the best center and RT in eagles history. And arguably the best players at their position in the nfl. I still think Paris Johnson is in play at pick 10. Can move him to RG until lane retires. He’s athletic enough to do it.

At the bar wearing a Super Bowl champs shirt as we speak

The final exam for all great coaches.  Have that success and the nfl goes insane until the staff is plucked dry.  Then you’ve got to replace them with new blood and show that you were the general behind sustainable success, not your cast of coaches.

Need Ben Johnson to get the Panthers job, so we can avoid a massive exodus. On the bright side, I do think Cleveland takes Jim Schwartz.

Been wearing my eagles stuff all week. I might do what i did last Super Bowl run with the eagles. I used my shrine i made and the candles. Heck i haven’t shaved since beginning of March with spring training in hopes if i didn’t the Phillies would make the playoffs. They did and the eagles were doing so well i couldn’t shave it with how things were going. So we are at 10.5 months.

last week wore this at the bar after the eagles won

It’s one thing to replace a coach or two. We have four guys interviewing right now (although I assume Wilson/Johnson stay if Gannon/Steichen go). That’s a lot to replace at one time.

Would suck to lose them all. However if we somehow ended up with reich as OC and fangio as Dc I’d be pretty stoked

I don't watch enough College football to ID the Real RT prospects, but I bet Stout does, and a bunch of fellas in here, too...

LT replacement delayed because...well, JP didn't want to stop yet. Neither did Lowie, at that point....

Andrews at Guard was the best use of his talents, before he went sideways...Monster middle...

Wish JR was around to put some handles on this wheelbarrow...

Andrews was never scheduled to be the LT here.  He was drafted in '04.  Thomas was here and they plugged him in at RG... looking to put him at RT when Runyan retired.  Andrew missed the '09 season with the back issue... they were trying to put him at RT, as they had just traded a first round pick for Jason Peters to be the LT.  They tried to bring in Stacy Andrews to play RG and have him help steady Shawn so he could play at RT.  Both failed miserably here and RT and RG was manned for all 16 games by Winston Justice and Nick Cole, respectively.   I don't believe Andrews ever lined up at RT for the Eagles even in a preseason game.  He was gone after that.
