Do you realize how many second rate comedians you would put out of work?

And a whole lot of comedians that are in the upper tier as well.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Effectively expanding them, and actually expanding them are very different things.

1 - PS elevations can only happen 3 times.

2 - PS salary and roster salary are very different things.

3 - PS doesn't get a player vested into the pension plan.

2 and 3 are ancillary issues.  They are concerns of unions not of fans.  1 doesn’t make it different, rather it constrains its impact.  It is a real expansion, but a modest one.

Agreed, but that doesn’t change the fact that they have taken some baby steps.

I’m guessing unless bacarty became an nfl owner no one wants him as a HC

I didn't say it was an argument purely from a fan perspective, as the initial post on the idea of expanding to 65 was also focused on the salary cap implications.

The first item is also completely different.  65 player roster means you can protect all 65 players from being poached by another team.  The 53 man roster and expanded PS roster continues to allow teams to steal the PS players, if they want to add them to their roster.  Further, the 53 man roster and the 3 elevation limit per player means a lot more churning and consternation, both for the organization and the players.   It rolls over to the fans, as we just saw last week we were focusing on how the team would deal with the punter position.

And 2 and 3 were union issues, exactly as @Nivraga had discussed.

Wonder if having Chachere available in the playoffs for elevation factored into letting Bradley go to IR. Pretty solid replacement on STs if needed.

Bradley seemingly hasn't done a productive thing all year so that might play a part too

Mike moves into a new a new house and runs into one of his new neighbors. Mike asks the neighbor what he does for a living and the neighbor tells him he's a professor of logic down at the local university. Mike asks him what's that? And the neighbor says it's easier for me to just show you rather than explain it.

The neighbor says I noticed you have a doghouse, that must mean you have a dog, correct?

Mike says yes I do have a dog.

The neighbor says if you have a dog, I'm going to assume that you have kids, do you have kids?

Mike says yes, in fact I do have kids.

The neighbor says if you have kids I'm going to assume you are married and got a woman pregnant, are you married to a woman?

Mike says yes I am married to a woman.

The neighbor says if you're married to a woman, I'm going to assume you're straight?

Mike says yes I'm a straight male.

Next day Mike is down at the park walking his dog and he runs into one of the other neighbors and he says hey you know that professor of logic who lives a few doors down? I met him the other day, nice guy. The neighbor says no I never met him, what's a professor of logic do, exactly? Mike says it's better for me to show you rather than explain it.

Mike asks the guy "Do you have a dog? The man says no. Mike says well then you must be a f****t.

A Norm McDonald joke.

"Close your eyes, heave the ball and fall to the ground. There’s a receiver down there somewhere.”

JR took a year off when the Eagles signed Vick.  Hope at some point he reconsiders but note he didn’t blame others but did not like what he saw of himself.  Admirable reflection of wisdom in my book.

On an unrelated note, I hated Vick.  I thought he was an immature jackass and that was before the dog fighting.

Despite the enjoyment I derive from rooting for pro sports teams, I generally have minimal respect or admiration for pro athletes as people.

I don’t care about their personal lives, wouldn’t want to have a beer with them, etc etc.

But Mike Vick…maybe my favorite redemption story in sports.  I think he had true, genuine remorse and transformation.  I have a tremendous amount of respect for how he handled that situation and who he became.  I wish he was just a few years younger on his upswing, as it would have brought us a SB too.

Can you name anyone who gave up more, did more and truly repented in the Public Eye, than he did?

Millions forfeited, years of Public appearances denouncing his choices, disassociating himself from the old guard and moving forward...

My perception of him changed, too...Still not accepted by many but I think he's done all the right things...All you CAN do...

Great question.  Wondered that myself.  Game did showcase Pacheco last year.  With two end of the seventh round choices this year, wonder if the Eagles have a scout in Orlando this week and next.

Seems to be quite a few college showcase bowls.  I'd hope the Eagles have scouts of some sort at every one of them.

Rapsheet says Raiders trying to trade Carr this week before they have to cut him. Mentioned, Jets, Panthers, Commies as possibilities.

I can't see a team pursuing Carr until they see what the Ravens decide to do with Jackson, because a QB needy team who wants to pursue a vet QB will surely prioritize Jackson over Carr.

Doubt the Niners pursuing Brady, what would they do with Purdy and Lance? Maybe if Purdy absolutely bombs in the playoffs and they never had confidence in Lance to begin with. I'm not sure I ever bought that bravado about Lance to begin the season. There were some rumblings all offseason that they were disappointed in his progress and once the season started suddenly all the stuff they were putting out was how much they loved him. It felt like damage control to me.

I think the Raiders could be the team. Reunite with McDaniels and play with Adams. Be close to where he grew up.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that.  Carr will be about $15M/year cheaper (after restructuring — he has no leverage), cost fewer assets in trade, and isn’t injury prone.

Neither one of them will get you anywhere near a Super Bowl so playoff success isn’t a consideration

Nothing better than watching Wild Card weekend with a first round bye….Go Hawks!
