Staley’s biggest issue was hiring an OC who treats Herbert like late-career Drew Brees. He should be in an aggressive vertical offense. Just a poor match.

I think they’re bigger issue is they can’t run the ball. They’re  31st in the league in rushing. When you don’t have Mike Williams and teams are gearing to take away Keenan Allen, being able to run the ball is big. They’ve been terrible all year at running the ball.

I actually mentioned a couple weeks ago a huge problem the Chargers have when they have lead late is not being able to run. Teams know they can’t so they just pin their ears back and hope to get sacks cause they know if the chargers run it’s a win for them. Tonight is one of those nights where if you ran for better than 2.8 yards per carry then the Jaguars probably don’t have enough time to come back in this game and you can sustain more drives. But since you have to keep passing and your offensive line is OK but Not great that dam eventually broke. they started getting pressure and errant throws/sacks and allowed them back in the game

Man, Acho sucks so bad.

Big Slug Doug

A Peder the size of the Sun

🤣🤣🤣

He threw 4 picks in the 1st half & led the game winning drive. I won’t get over that for awhile. Jaguars got their guy at QB

Agreed.

I threw $15 on the Jags to win $140 with 7 min to go! Should have bet more

Sirianni better win his playoff game next week or people are going to view firing Doug as a huge mistake

I mean in the moment taking the extra point makes it a 3 point game. If you miss it then need a td to win it and impossible to tie it late. Even i said that but when you saw the ball was literally inches away from the goal line it makes sense if you were just going to sneak it.

Maybe Press Taylor wasn’t such a bad choice for OC? It’s almost like organizations should trust their Super Bowl-winning head coach to pick his coaching staff.

Doug is the man. Probably a better coach than Sirianni if we are being honest

But he said something like "the ball is at the 1 so they aren’t going for 2.”

I love Doug, but it was probably best for both sides to move on. It does underscore some of the front office’s stupidity in how they treated Doug.

I had it on mute so i missed that. Heck, I don’t even think it was that the one. Where they had the ball it look like it was at the half yard line. Once I saw that I was like OK that makes sense cause all you need is a half yard. you should be able to sneak it and get a half yard.

Doug has some wild playoff wins. This comeback, the double doink, the patriots Philly special Super Bowl and Keanu Neal with the football off the knee to Torrey smith.

Ha I was agreeing. It just made me think of the South Park episode with President Garrison

That experiment the Eagles had with 12 personnel and the 5 yard passing offense regardless of down and distance…they needed a reset from that.

Doug is a great coach and was a great coach here..but he ran a full life cycle very quickly.  Rebuild, top of the mountain, bottom of the valley.

Siri is a Doug clone in many ways.
