Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Extremely little, but he's back from injury now.  Maybe the time off helped him get his legs back (He's no spring chicken).

Has Davis shown more?  And does his contribution as the 5th DT exceed what might be possible to get from Quinn as the 4th DE?

I'm not saying that Davis definitely will be deactivated, but I don't see 9 DL... so someone is definitely the odd man out.

I think if he is out it will be because of Milton Williams who has been balllin'

If Davis isn’t active that’s a total embarrassment. Bunkley may have been a better pick.

The Reagor over Jefferson pick set the franchise back an entire year.
The Davis/Hamilton decision is unlikely to do so, in either direction.

I don’t think anyone should try to draw a parallel to the Reagor over Jefferson selection.  The Eagles clearly value the trenches over the secondary as building block pieces

I’ll judge the Davis pick by whether he can be a worthy DT successor to Cox in the long term — and I loved Kyle Hamilton’s college tape

I hope the Eagles' coaching staff is watching this game. Look at the intensity of the Ravens + their gameplan.

If today is any indication, the Giants are going to lean heavily on running Jones in critical situations.

Plan A is to jump out to a lead…the Giants don’t have the firepower to overcome a big deficit.  But they do have the ability to trade blows and frustrate with Jones/Barkley.  So get the lead early.

Absent a big early lead, they need to avoid relentless crushing 3rd down conversations with Jones’ legs.  Someone needs to spy him and Edwards may not be fast enough to do it.

I’ll focus on your one sentence "Eliminate a rivalry? The job would be to do better than expected.. continually...That's the Blueprint.”  While I agree with that sentiment for the players, I don’t agree with it for us fans.  Nothing we can do fits into your sentence.  We don’t have "a job.”  We can’t "do” much less "do better than expected.”  We are simply passengers on the bus. As a result your first sentence does not compute.

As Fans, we do grab the tail of the cow that's going our way. His trail becomes ours, thus it's "Us"...

Of course we have no input regarding the outcomes but Their outcome becomes ours, as well.

We wish for the best, suffer through the rough spots, celebrate the successes, together. Fans. Players.

Isn't that the whole point?

You're point for sure, but my point, expressed in the Post has merit. Maybe Army/Navy not so much... but still...

We hate you because we can never beat you, you always win a Championship. we're left wanting, and on and on.

Go up against your Rival and consistently get spanked, confidence or geography...

Some rivalries that is the case.  In my case the results on the field had almost nothing to do with my hate for the Giants.  That rivalry was birthed in the Freshman dormitory where the Giants/Jets fans were so obnoxious it was unbearable.  If your formula were correct my most hated team would be the Packers.  Further, as an "anybody but the Yankees” fan the field of New York hate was already seeded, and the Phillies never played each other.

In addition to scrambling, Jones had too much time. Dline needs to get after him right out of the gate

I’m rooting for Quinn to finally make that trade meaningful

Honestly... looking at the depth on the DL for this game, Davis might actually be deactivated.

Hargrave, Cox, Joseph, Suh
Sweat, Reddick, Graham...

It comes down to Quinn or Davis in my book, because I don't see 9 DL being active.  And since Graham can swing inside if needed... they don't need another NT.

I’ve been thinking that for awhile now but was afraid to bring it up, knowing it could cause a firestorm of "Davis is a bust” talk.

I have some extra time next week, we can deep dive into the origins of your allegiances.....:P

Guessing here, but NYU is not the Birthplace of free thinkers, glad you survived...

Amazing how 3 months can change perspective. He was the hero coming back from his ankle to sure up the run defense as we were better with him. To now he’s a bust cause Joseph has played great since being signed and he doesn’t get the reps.

And I forgot Williams.  Davis seems to be caught in a numbers game.   But, we'll find out more about him in the offseason.  How they handle Cox, Hargrave, Suh and Joseph will mean a ton about Davis.

Between Allen and now Burrow, two legit Elite QBs are having a tougher time putting away easy opponents. That's the playoffs for you.

He was a risk when they brought him onboard. Everybody sorta knew that. Guy's mostly always been hurt.

Heck with the Chatter. What do you think?

How much time do you think we can expect from him during the upcoming Super Bowl Run?

He may be key in the middle, even at 15-20% snaps....

Parlay is going very well. I need a Mixon TD here though

The ravens defense is really good. Once they got Smith, they really turned the corner. Giving up 14.6 ppg in their last nine games. And that includes week 18 where they didn’t have everybody playing in that game and gave up 27. If you exclude week 18 it is 13.1. I actually find it pretty impressive that the ravens haven’t scored over 16 points in six straight games, but yet have gone 3-3 in those games.

Yeah brutal. All I needed is a Mixon TD and Burrow to throw another TD pass. Worst case scenario.

Gannon tweaked his defense to accommodate Reddick. He would’ve adapted for a 1st rounder like Hamilton.

Luckily they have Burrow, Chase, Higgins

Gannon didn’t tweak his defense because he got Reddick. He simply was unable to run it because he didn’t have that kind of player. Avery played the same position, but wasn’t good enough to play more snaps.

We know the recipe to beat us. Long, sustained drives while Gannon watches us die a slow death. He doesn't blitz on passing downs and he doesn't run blitz either. The Giants could easily put together long, ugly drives against Gannon's defense. All year, this defense is very good when they're getting after it. 70 sacks, blah blah. We know the story. When they're not getting after the QB though, they're not just not very good... they're bad. Very bad. Gannon needs to force the issue more than he has all year. Don't let our offense sit on the sidelines all game.
