Check their rankings for recruiting classes over the past 5 years.   Count up the 5 star and 4 star recruits for both.   That's pretty 'insane'. 

2019:  Alabama 1st overall. 3 5-star, 23 4-star, 1 3-star.   Kansas State. 9th in the Big 12.  0 4- or 5-stars.  23 3-star recruits.
2020: Alabama 2nd overall.  4 5-star, 17 4-star, 6 3-star.   Kansas State. 9th in the Big 12.  0 4- or 5-stars.  27 3-star recruits.
2021: Alabama 1st overall.  7 5-star, 18 4-star, 2 3-star.   Kansas State.  7th in the Big 12.  0 5-stars, 1 4-star!, 16 3-star recruits.

 

What's insane is that Alabama let a team with such a wide gap in talent stick around for as long as they did.    Alabama should always be at the top of the rankings and should always be able to out talent any other team on the field, because they have the best recruiting of any team in the nation.    Same is true of Georgia over the past 5 or so years.  They are probably the 2nd best at recruiting.

 

It's why I always pull for the teams like TCU in the playoffs... they are working from a disadvantage and the coaching job these guys do to compete with the big boys is laudable.  That's where the coaching really counts.  Michigan is the 2nd worst recruiting team of the 4 in the CFP.  Never higher than 8th overall over the past 4 years, but still way higher than TCU.  TCU was never even #1 in the Big-12.  

Where Michigan is right now, this is where I want Hurts to throw himself a TD pass.

Tells you that Harbaugh is a little spooked by TCU.  That's not a play you call when you are the more talented team and the one that is supposed to be more physical.   Likely a run by Corum if he was available.  But he's not.

Philly Special has run its course. It feels like recently it's been a failure more than successful in the pro's and college.
